I wrote it off to the light color dip color I chose. My beautiful long nails were breaking every day!! I went back 3 weeks later to get a regular manicure until I could drive back to Aurora, Il (2-1/2 hours north but worth the time!!!) for my favorite place! The regular manicure cost me $27!!!!! They were running a little behind for my appointment but the great job, clean facility and friendly employees made up for it. I mentioned the previous gel manicure from Lynn's (felt rushed, polish on cuticles, polish was either old or applied too thick and didn't cover entire nail, minimal massage at end with a lot of oil), and Eric corrected everything. He did a fantastic job cleaning the cuticles and was very careful applying the color. Short massage with lotion at the end. FYI, $30 at Metro (accepts credit) and $28 at Lynn's (cash/check only).

After going to a few other places and talking to experienced nail techs, I realized it was because nail spa does not use base coat for dip. Recently, I thought I'd give it another try because it is closer to my home. I went back for a dip manicure. The manager tried to say it didn't matter to use the base coat, people only do that to use less dip color. She blamed my nails not lasting on the fact they may not have dried all the way, whatever. Well, I ended up getting them done. I spent $56 plus a $7 tip. My nails started chipping in about a week with six of my ten nails. By the time I arranged to go back, it was on day 10. She said that it was because I use my fingers and dip only lasts 2 weeks. I was frustrated, and just had them soak my nails off and I left. A WASTE of 63$ Mind you, I have had dip on my nails for years without this problem. The past two times, she kept asking me why I'm coming there if other places do better. Well, now I will be sure not to come back. I knew better than to give that place another chance. Highly do NOT recommend if you are looking for a longer lasting dip manicure!!!
