SAGE Dental: short for Sorrowful And Grievous Experience. I should have trusted the negative reviews about Sage dental. I don't know about you, but when I see extremely bad reviews I tend to think the person was just being extreme. This review is about the staff at SAGE - not a dentist. I never saw one because the experience with the staff gave me the insight to leave. It was a very bad experience for a scheduled appointment of cleaning and exam. Initially, the front desk couldn't find my appointment. The front desk person asked me, "are you sure you have an appointment?". Then the office manager had to help them to see my appointment. They told me "sit down". Next a person that looked like they just got off their bicycle, based on their clothing, asked me to follow her. That person asked me if I was a new patient. She could not find my previous visit history. When I kept insisting that I was there last year and was seen by a dentist that left the practice. (I could understand why the dentist would want to leave that practice). Last year the dentist gave me a written referral to visit a root canal specialist. Next the office manager came to help that person find my records and told me possibly I was confused. After twice being told that I was possibly confused I decided that I did not need to be insulted, and I walked out - (yes I have receipts from the prior year visit). If you are considering visiting Sage dental, my suggestion to you is to find another dental care provider so you will have a more peaceful day. read more

I am new to the area and went to Sage dental because I had a cracked tooth. They said I need it removed by their oral surgeon and then needed an implant. I had the tooth removed at great expense. They told me I was a "great candidate for implant" and to let the wound "heal" for three months and then call back for the implant. Well I've called and called! 5 calls and not a single response! I went to another dentist. He was amazed at what a botched job that was done. The wound is healing "poorly." Too much bone was removed and I was referred to an oral surgeon. He believes an implant is not possible without major surgery to move my sinuses. I am really upset at this business and they don't even bother to return my calls! Horrible! read more

I came because i literally needed a root canal. they gave me a whole plan for dental cleanings and treatments but could not do the root canal. i did 3 cleanings then they said i spent all of the money on the treatment plan which was 2.5k in totalwhich i am still paying off. Total scam. still havent gotten a root canal. if something happens due to my root canal, we can blame this place read more

Have been looking for an oral surgeon for implants and extractions that took my insurance and was happy to find Dr Ingalls who met my requirements. He was excellent and provided full information about what to expect and what the approximate cost would be. It was less than half what my previous periodontist quoted me. Follow up has been quick and thorough. Highly recommend his professionalism. read more

Never got seen. 1. First time I got cancelled because of construction 2. Went in for my rescheduled appointment and waited 45 min only to be told I would have to wait for another hour 3. Was also told my insurance hadn't been linked to my file because the provider portal had been down even though I had filled out information weeks ago BOTH on the online chat AND the phone AND uploaded images My fault but sucks I paid for a babysitter to go to the dentist and then never got a service. This office is ATTEMPTING to get established. My wife and I are new to the area and wanted to establish a new dentist. After our initial visit a follow up appointment for cleaning was rescheduled twice for my wife. After my cleaning I was scheduled for a follow up special procedure. I showed up early and was invited to have a seat. After 15 minutes I was informed that they were booked up for the day and I would need to reschedule. So at this point I refused. I am so disappointed that these people cannot get their act together. The professional staff and equipment are good. But getting jerked around by the incompetence of the front office is unacceptable. read more

YUCK. This place is horrible. Went in for a basic cleaning in January'24. Wisked away to take x-rays, etc. then later told they only do deep cleanings. I declined and received push back from the manager. For FIVE months, I received demands for payments and collection threats (even though my insurance covers basic x-rays but weren't charged). Forced to clear it up myself, I contacted my insurance company numerous times and Sage's billing service who assured me several times that they were waiting for my insurance to approve the xrays - which according to my insurance company - wasn't true. After several attempted visits to the (always closed) office, and receiving a collection threat (for the fifth time) I again called Sage but this time I "surprise" merged the call with my insurance company. Turns out, Sage was incorrectly billing insurance for SIX months! Long story short: bad service, nightmare billing, terrible hours, unanswered/unreturned messages. STAY AWAY. PS to Sage: There is no need to cut and paste a "We're sorry to see this" comment below as it's insincere and transparent. And no, there is no desire to further discuss the matter. As I've learned, you won't answer the calls or respond to voice/emails. Again, asking your (former) clients to reach out to YOU to discuss is telling. read more

Incompetent staff at the front desk including a manager. I made a routine teeth cleaning appointment through their direct phone number 239-963-4754. When I arrived, they told me it will be exam (it is part of their internal policy for new patients) and they don't have availability for a cleaning. I told them that no one explained it to me while I was making an appointment and it is a waste of my time and in this case they should figure out how to make both exam and cleaning for me. After 20 minutes arguing back and forth they did not admit it was their mistake and did not even try to accommodate me. I received a ton of texts and emails confirming my 10am appointment, however when I got there (early) I waited until about 10:20am and finally asked the front desk gal if the Dentist was running late to which she replied 'yeah'. Lovely kindergarten response as there was no apology, nothing about timing so I waited a little longer until they finally asked me if I could wait another 10 minutes. Had they just communicated before I arrived or even when I got there I could have made it work by doing some chores yet they wasted a lot of my morning since I live quite far away...needless to say, this was unprofessional and ridiculous. read more

Having been a resident of Naples, Florida since 2004, I can honestly admit that it is very difficult to navigate the Heath Care System. While practicing as a Pharmacist in Naples ( BSPharm, PharmD ) , I would utilize my vacation time and fly back north to utilize my established physician's in the Greater Pittsburgh, PA area. Now that I am retired, I split my time between both locations . With all that being said , everyone at some point in time needs a dentist for an emergency. In my case , I was desperate. Many people have porcelain veneers and when one pops , chips or breaks , you panic . This happened to me . I stumbled across Dr. William Starner, checked his references and ignored the reviews . First, you MUST call the local office at 239-963-4754 and NOT the corporate office number as there are multiple locations throughout the state . State your problem and then proceed . Upon arriving , I was greeted by an excellent staff . Don't let the empty waiting room alarm you as there are thousands of dentists who are attempting to start up their businesses and sell unnecessary procedures . This is a fact as Naples has grown immensely and competition is fierce ; everyone is transitory. I presented my insurance card ( Dental ) to cover any X - ray . This is a mandated procedure by any dentist to a total stranger . Remember, everyone must carry liability insurance. After that, I was taken to room and greeted by a compassionate staff and a well mannered , soft spoken professional, Dr. William Starner . He examined my veneer , stated issues that could happen and was very thorough. He then proceeded to cement the veneer in place after quoting a price . At that point , I was completely floored. The total price of cementing my veneer was under $100.00 . Why ? The answer is that you have an excellent professional who is now semi -retired with the experience behind him . Large chains like this can easily charge less as they have multiple locations unlike a private practice . Being a medical professional, I can 100% attest to the integrity of this gentleman. I hope that I relieved anyone who has dealt with the anxiety I had weeks before Christmas . In the future , no matter what my dental issue is, I will make an appointment with Dr. Starner to resolve any Dental issues in Naples , Florida . I was an urgent care case and called on a Thursday . Monday morning the veneer was set in place. Good down to earth people in a very difficult environment that keeps growing . read more

So far Great!! My husband and I moved here 4 years ago and have had a horrible time trying to find an honest dentist ( still haven't found a doctor!!). Well we hit the jackpot with Sage Dental!! Dr Steiner and his office are fabulous. The dental hygienist was so sweet, and did a fabulous job. They took our insurance and didn't try to Sell us on any " treatment planning ". Or anything else!! (Really. In all my years... now some dental practices won't even see you without a prepaid plan!!). I think I have found my Naples Dentist. Thank you Dr Steiner and Sage Dental. read more

I was called the week before my new patient exam and I wasn't happy when I found out that we were only scheduled for X-rays and not a teeth cleaning. I've never heard of having to make a separate appointment for cleaning? At checkout they asked if they checked my gums and I said no. I made an appointment for cleaning and a replacement cavity. A few days before my appointment the new office manager called to see if I knew about my copay and that I had periodontal disease and needed a deep clean and it would be $500 and insurance would only cover $150. I was flabbergasted! I thought maybe they confused my chart with somebody else. The manager insisted this is what I needed and they couldn't do a regular cleaning be it could make it worse. I ended up canceling both my appointment and my daughters appointment . The entire process seemed shady and I even told the manager it sounded like scam.
