Okay gotta say that #1 son is a HUGE fan of this place and I usually spend way more than I should…read morebut we both love our got stuff. One of my favorite places to pick up a variety of hot sauces. There's wall to wall paper sauces and you can sample them all even though there might not be samples set up. Located at The Wharf near the ferris wheel in addition to hot sauces there's jellies and jams, salsas's, jerky, spices, gift packs and some other gift  items to choose from. Even if you don't like hot stuff they got some sweet choices as well, like peach, cherry, cinnamon, mango and more. Reading the labels, some with funny names, is also informative and interesting so you know what they put into each of the concoctions. On my last trip recently I bought some hot sauce and sweet salsa and a diet Pepsi to put out some of the fire :) The staff here is always helpful and knowledgeable so don't hesitate to ask questions or ask for your special flavor. Okay so let's talk about a specific product since I've been sharing a tidbit about most wasabi actually being horseradish with coloring. Our favorite non-fresh horseradish is called Nasal Napalm "Horseradish Extreme" and is a house brand item of Pepper Palace that has actually won some contests in horseradish divisions an we are big fans! The label actually lists 4 warnings: #1: This is the most powerful horseradish on the planet, and although it will not kill you, it may make you a little crazy! #2: One tiny spec of this horseradish is all you can handle. #3: Do not apply to sensitive areas. Do not hold jar directly under nose & smell. #4: Intentionally concealing the intense aroma & burn of this product to misguide others is wrong & is likely to earn you a good butt-woopin. Yes it is tasty and spicy but #1 son actually uses it for his sinuses, really. So it's not as far fetched it may sound. The last time I was sick was in 1992 and it was a vicious sinus infection that cost me my voice for month, which is never good for a morning radio person LOL Anyway I got vigilant about remedies and preventatives after that and came up with a concoction of peeled fresh horseradish root, raw apple cider vinegar, raw organic honey and a pinch of sea salt. There's a lot of reasons how and why this works so well but that's another topic for somewhere else. But I've shared that with family and friends over the years and #1 son is the only person, besides me, that actually enjoys a tablespoon of it :-) Bottom line: I highly recommend this horseradish if you like intense, spicy flavors. Just a dab'll do ya in mayo for roast beef sammiches, and it can make some killer cocktail sauce for shrimp.

Take your taste buds on a journey over to their sample bar & choose your heat level ranging from Mild to Wild delighting in a symphony of flavors bound to satisfy any hot sauce & spice lover or food connoisseur alike. So come on in & taste the Smokies at Pepper Palace. Pepper Palace is everything I expected in quality & variety when it comes to their sauce, spices, or other products they have to offer. As I'm sampling through their sample bar of sauces & spices, it inspired many different ideas for many dishes. I would use these sauces for, like honey chipotle barbcue, most excellent steak marinade ever & garlic herb seasoning, which I would use for my steak and chicken taco salad as an example. If you want ideas for recipes to make with their sauce and spices, they have a recipe book available & there's also a few recipes posted online.     When I walked into the store, I noticed how they keep the sauces and spices well organized along the racks & sample bar ready for customers to sample at a moment's notice. The staff that works here are friendly and knowledgeable in each one of the products available. Sometimes if you comment on how much you like what you tasted. The staff will recommend a favorite of theirs that they find go good with a particular dish. I got recommended by their cashier for a cocktail sauce on shift that I mix Nasal Napalm & Sauce Master Medium Hot Sauce. (Which I'll upload a pic) I tried it upon their recommendation & it will be the only thing I'd dip my shrimp in after seasoning it with their garlic herb seasoning. I have already recommended this to connoisseur & hot sauce enthusiasts.   I'm looking forward to my next visit to this location or one of their other Tanger outlets stores in Foley or Pittsburgh.   Be sure to like on FB & tell a friend. https://www.facebook.com/PepperPalace/ Or visit them on the web at http://www.pepperpalace.com
