My other concern related to the pharmacy at 5702 Summitview Ave in Yakima: There seems to be a high turnover at the pharmacy and the only staples are Mario and Shannon who transferred from the Albertson's on 40th when the Safeway brand took over a number of years ago. I frequented the Albertsons on 40th often for over 20 years until it closed and transferred to Summitview Safeway. I knew most of the employees at that store and felt comfortable with shopping there. Now, one never knows who is going to be behind the pharmacy counter and if the prescriptions will be filled timely. My trust in the current pharmacy has diminished significantly.
I have had an inhaler prescription filled for a number of years and have not had reason to question it. The recent inhaler refill on 05/14/2020 has an expiration date of 10/2020, only five(5) months of supposedly active use and then considered expired. It had a printed date of 05/14/2021 on my prescription label, but the pharmacy crossed that out as the inhaler is only good through October 2020. My prior refill on 12/31/2019 had an expiration date of 04/2021. All of my prior prescriptions for inhalers have provided at least one to two years of active use before expiration date.
This is concerning, especially if a person does not have money to refill again in five months and has severe breathing issues. My insurance gives me excellent coverage (and I worked for many years to get it); therefore, I am not concerned for my own inhaler need and cost. I am doing this review for the benefit of other customers so they will be aware. read more
