Went in this morning to get one of their deli's breakfast burritos, that may I add clearly shows on the menu as customizable, and the deli worker refused to make it for me. Ive been to many Safeway's in my day and they always make me the 3.99 special, but not this one. Bathroom was also disgusting, they need to get this place under control. read more

Disappointed. Realized yesterday that carts dropped off in parking lot bins are not sanitized before being taken inside and placed under a sign in store indicating "Sanitized Carts". Called and asked for Manager today. Don't know if that is who I got when bringing this issue to his attention. He explained carts inside are sanitized hourly. That may be but placing carts in cart grouping straight from parking lot does not afford them sanitizing before someone else takes cart and uses it. Either take the sign down or sanitize the carts elsewhere and more often than hourly. It is misleading to put carts under signs indicating that they have been sanitized when some obviously aren't. I watched with my own 2 eyes. Someone else commented that there are too few checkers causing waiting lines to flow into product aisles with people waiting. Express lines than have shoppers with more than 15 items to log jam that lane. Checkers need to do better about Express lane monitoring and more checkers need to be added when snow causes more shoppers than on a regular day. read more

After shopping at Fred Meyer since the doors opened, today will be my last day to patronize this business. They have continued to allow a manager who shows no customer service skills, no people skills and no organizational skills manage the store. The people that remain there for the most part, our wonderful and hard-working people. But there's no service at the store now. I will be patronizing in spending my money at our local Lyons store. read more

If you can't tell from my check-in history, I am here quite frequently. Parking: 5/5 massive paved parking lot with an insane amount of parking spots. They are typically pretty good at keeping the parking area free of carts. There is always room for me to park in the back 40 far away from the door dingers:-) Store: 5/5 the store is always very clean and they recently remodeled and labeled the store much better. All freezer aisle doors are properly labeled and there are tabs throughout so that you know the exact location in the aisle. They also have an expansive beer and wine selection. There are many 1/2 off items for quick sale and I shop those sales frequently! I love seeing how much I save. Customer service: 3.5/5 typically the customer service is on point but every once in awhile it is not. There is a petite woman in the deli who can't smile to save her life. Also, I have attempted to ask this woman something on 2 occasions and she cut me off both times to answer a question I was not asking. If one does not allow the other to complete a question then typically their attempt at an answer is haphazard. Both times I had to repeat the question and both time the woman was incredibly annoyed by this?!?! Being interrupted is one of my biggest pet peeves, I dislike the beginning of someone's sentence starting in the middle of mine. I tend to bring reusable bags in when I shop and one of those bags is a 49er bag (I am a die hard fan)... There have been a few times where the staff feels the need to negatively comment on my choices. Sometimes it is funny and friendly banter ensues but other times it is not so friendly as the Seahawks and 49ers have a huge rivalry. There is a woman, Letha, who works as a checker and I will go to her line even if it is the longest line in the store. This woman loves working with the public and it shows. She really makes this store shine compared to others. Last week the person checkin out ahead of me was celebrating his bday and she got on the loud speaker and sang to him (in her best Marilyn Monroe impersonation). She absolutely goes above and beyond and you can tell it is natural for her to be so awesome. There is a gas station at this location as well. Thank you, lovely yelpers, for reading. read more

I have had issues with rude people working at this pharmacy and just ignored it but my 71 year old mother was so upset about how she was treated today by the pharmacy. They were annoyed about working Memorial Day and decided to take it out on her. Shame on you ! I have been very patient and kind with businesses because of the employee shortages but that does not give them the right to treat customers badly. If you want to be treated with respect then you need to do the same with your customers. read more

This store was my first experience at shopping at a Safeway. I moved here from CA & we no longer have them there. I enjoy how organized & clean this store always is & the employees are quite friendly. They have a pretty good deli, bakery & their produce is always top notch with fresh items. They also have a Starbucks which is nice. They have some decent sales & an app with some great offers but the only issue I have is there's often no internet service to my phone so sometimes it's hard to use the offers but if u tell the cashier when ur checking out - sometimes I just take a photo of the tag & offer & they will give me the sale price if my app can't connect. read more

Such a pleasant experience at this Safeway location. Came in for a quick to-go lunch for the road while traveling on Christmas Day since every else was closed. Sue in the deli was extremely friendly and hospitable and made us a tasty, custom sandwich which was not rushed like most grocery store delis would do. I was so pleased with her service, I even attempted to leave her a tip which she would not accept due to store policy (Even though she could have easily taken it...) Its experiences like these that leave lasting impressions on people and make successful businesses. This woman deserves a raise, Management! read more

We stopped shopping at Safeway a few years ago when one of your patrons rammed my car on purpose while waiting to get gas. Tonight we thought we'd give it a shot and drop in for some Chinese. I asked for a sample of two different entrees. After I tasted the first one, the kid behind the counter actually asked for the toothpick back and then proceed to reuse it to get my second sample. And yes, he poked several different pieces of chicken before finally spearing the one he gave me. Sorry for the next person... I decided on the sweet and sour chicken only to get home and alas, no sweet and sour sauce. So I had dried up fried chicken for dinner tonight. So disappointing. And a good reminder of why we stopped shopping here to begin with. We love you Fred Meyer!!! read more

This Safeway had so much more than I would have expected! I was happy to see everything I would need for the holidays here. The only thing I was sad not to see was fresh herbs. Great supermarket overall and I can't wait to try Tillamook Ice Cream! read more

I live very close to this Safeway and shop there very often. In the last 3 months it has gone downhill. The pharmacy is still excellent but there rest of the store is not keeping up. The lines are often so long they go down the aisles where people are trying to shop. There are typically three cashiers, one is express. The express line has had people with full carts on the line and are allowed to hold up everyone with 15 items or less. The digital coupons do not work. The first time I tried to use them I was told no one really knows how to do it, we were not trained. That cost .25 on 4 bottles of seltzer and one bottle of soda=$1.00 plus tax. The second time there was a wonderful manager who I recognize but do not know his name. He had the cashier put the digital coupon through as a store coupon. Yesterday, same product, same problem. Again, I bought 5 and scanned the digital coupon. I was told it wouldn't go through. I requested the customer service rep and was told she was working in the Starbucks kiosk but would be with me soon. I waited 20 minutes and left. Another $1.00 plus tax. I am now up to $2.12. Not a lot of money but I may as well go to Winn Co. where the staff is trained. I was telling my sister today and she relayed her story. She bought Tillomock cheese because it was on sale for $4.99. It rang up as $8.99. She tried to use the digital coupon and they couldn't scan it. She did not buy it. She always shops at Safeway but the one in the city and never had a problem. She went to Neider because she had left my house and stopped on the way home. I love the produce at my Safeway, the people who work there are friendly, helpful, and I will miss seeing them. However, I am changing stores because I shouldn't have extra expense no matter how small. Albertson needs to have better trained people, not the employees fault they're left with no help, and registers open during busy hours. Customer service people working in Starbucks? How sad that these employees are treated as fill ins, unless there is not actually a real customer service rep. read more

This is by far the best Safeway I have shopped at. Since school is back in, the employees are fantastic. The summer employees were hard to deal with. We utilize the just 4 U program online, and save on average 40%. We work very hard to watch each penny, and Safeway is perfect for this. read more
