Local Page AZ grocery store that was 3 min away from our Airbnb. Perfect to grab essentials for our 2 night stay. I was surprised to find they had HU chocolate bar, it made me very happy as I'm a clean ingredients consumer. Their fresh fruit selection was great and perfect for my breakfast. What I loved was the amazing selection of fresh flowers when you walked in, I personally being from Miami FL had never seen daffodils in person and was wowed at the beauty of the fresh yellow ones they had I wish I could've taken some back home. They have a Starbucks inside but the service was extremely slow with only one employee taking orders and making the drinks one customer at a time. read more

Imagine this. You are on a medication, without which you will almost certainly die in within days. You are a doctor and your own physician sends in a refill request to Daniel the pharmacist at the Page (Un?)Safeway. Daniel and his staff arbitrarily decide not to fill the prescription (even though they have an electronic record of you filling this prescription at this pharmacy several times over a 10 year period) because "it seems like it came from the physicians home FAX machine" and therefore you might be a crazed drug addict trying to score some pills. Daniel instructs his staff to lie, first to your wife in person and second to you on the phone saying they never received the prescription. The third time Daniel admits he "just decided not to fill this one". Is that even legal? You call the store manager but Tina never calls back. You go to good old reliable Walmart, they fill the prescription without incident or question and you continue on your vacation. This pharmacist should lose his job at this store for deliberately and with no valid reason or evidence endangering the life of a patient. Safeway should be avoided if they are this lax about critical safety issues. What's next, salmonella due to not checking the fridge temperatures? read more

It's too bad I have to deliver such a poor rating to a normally stellar store. I've stopped at this Safeway before many times on my way in/out of UT - but this time they really failed me. The food selection was great, as we stopped there to get the ready-made food in the front of the store (chicken tenders, wedge fries, etc.) But their soda fountain machine was completely depleted. It's in the deli and away from the front of the store. No worries initially I thought...we had some soda in the car (in cans,) so instead of buying soda's to-go, I asked if we could have water cups at the deli-counter. The young man (who's name I didn't get, but I'll gladly describe him and give the management more pertinent details if they reach out privately,) could not have been MORE rude to me and my significant other's daughter who was standing right beside me. He claimed they don't have water cups (which I believe is in stark contrast to every other place that has a restaurant/fountain drinks,) and then when I asked if I could have a cup just to get some ice, he gave me a small/teeny cup (that I'm guessing was the water cup,) and CHARGED ME 25 cents! Seriously? Again, he couldn't have had worse customer service skills if he tried. My sig other's daughter even commented to me on how rude the employee was, so I knew I wasn't imagining things. But I had to set a good example and not engage by lowering myself to the low-level of communication. Now - when we went to check out with our chicken tenders and potato wedges, etc. - we encountered a customer service (manager?) at the register named Daniel. HE couldn't have been nicer/kinder, and he's likely the only reason I'll stop with our blended family at this Safeway again. Am I being punked... the freakin' COVID SANITATION worker had her mask under her nose as she was wiping down the shelves where mugs for purchase at Starbucks were. I went to grab coffee creamer, passing through the bakery and the worker setting out the pastries had her mask under her nose. The gal that rang me up was super kind, but as she was speaking, she would lift her mask away to be better understood. I am immune compromised; I wear my mask and even gloves to not catch anything going around. That's how I can protect myself. I'm just asking that they wear their masks PROPERLY. There is not all that much shopping in Page and aside from Wal-Mart and this is the main grocery store. The store itself is older but they do house the only Starbuck's in town (not that I do the Starbuck's for coffee). The store itself is older as are most of the employees which was nice to see. Along with regular weekly specials this store also carries a lot of local type fare and food that seems to be prevalent for the area (mutton, etc.). The biggest upside is that this Safeway was close enough to walk from the house we were staying in for the week and I frequented it often. read more

Salvation! When you're in Page, AZ, it's for hiking and exploring the myriad of canyons, parks, lakes that surround the area. However most of us out here have to fly somewhere to get there... and that means, no liquids. This safeway is your lifesaver when you're out in Page. It's a full blown, very clean, very organized safeway, which means you're not paying $2.50 per bottle of water. And that's awesome, because you need to drink on average a gallon of water (and I recommend at least a gatorade) when you're hiking there anywhere between the late spring and mid fall. You'll find beers, food, hats, sunscreen, toothbrush, and other vital necessities, at the usual reasonable safeway price. And that most certainly deserves a 5 star rating! read more

If you are hiking in this area, this Safeway seems to be the only option to buy food to supply. I just bought a bottle of Naked juice because I felt Iike I didn't have enough vitamins because of eating only backpacking food. Customers were mostly tourists. The worst Safeway on the planet, poor selection, rude and disrespectful employees, the worst!!

I usually do a lot of my shopping at Safeway because of the deals. However watch the register because things don't always ring up as marked even with the card. Today I bought 4 things marked at $5.99. They rang up at $15.99. Then I added my card and the price dropped to $10.99. Then I when to the customer service desk and she gave me half of what I over paid. This has happened a couple of times to me, so watch carefully and help the people with their math. read more

If you're a traveler, do yourself a favor, go to the Walmart down the street. More fresh options and it costs WAY less. I spent $43 the first day i went to Safeway because the cashier didn't give me any of the "member discounts". I spent half that at Walmart the next day. Wow. This was an unforgettable experience. We stopped by this grocery store because it was the only local grocery store in the area and we had to fill up on our houseboat with 5 days' worth of food to feed everyone on the trip. I went with another party and we split up the grocery list for the trip and found everything we needed. The issue occurred when I went to check out. As my food and items, started across the conveyor belt during the cashiering process, the monitor screen went complete blank. I couldn't see if I was getting "club price" or not. Plus, I had no way of knowing if the number I entered was accepted??? Then, alas the monitor screen comes back up AFTER my credit card is authorized and when it is too late to realize that the club price discounts didn't even get entered in (My bill was $184 and it should have been around $150, so it was $30 worth of savings). Then, the receipt wouldn't print. We waited 15 minutes while other customers got upset and left behind us. I needed that receipt so I could make a separate trip to the customer service desk so I could get my money back. After bringing in two managers, my SON said, "why don't you just take a printer from one of the unused registers and hook it up?" That worked. Thank you my son, who thought of a problem-solution method that 2 managers and 2 additional employees didn't think of. It worked. I got my receipt. Then, I had to walk over to the customer service desk with my receipt so I could get those club prices entered. Unfortunately, there was another guest in front of me, buying like 10 money orders, then continued to buy lottery tickets. I waited so long that I literally sat on the floor next to my cart!!!! Because it was easily another 10 minutes, before one of the store managers took pity on me sitting on the floor, and pulled us into another register so we could FINALLY get OFFICIALLY checked-out and leave. I'm giving this place only 2 stars because of their poor customer service and the fact that we had to wait soooooooooo incredibly long to get checked out. This would have NEVER happened at Smith's or even HEB (both NM and TX grocery stores). They needed additional staff at the registers and definitely another staff member helping at the customer service desk because that was literally absurd!!! read more

i only experienced their pharmacy and i don't recommend My daughter was sick, we rushed to the urgent care and they sent the prescription to safeway. when we arrived their 15mn after the visit the employee told us very rudely that "she was still working on yesterday prescriptions and will not look at what was arriving today before at least another hour" that's shocking to me, if you are in the business of selling medicine, i think you need to understand that it can have a certain level of urgency...
