Wonderful full-service grocery store near Monument Valley. I stopped in for snacks and found all the items I was looking for readily available. Self-service check-out worked like a dream. Many locals seem to shop here, which may be a vote of confidence or may mean that it's the only place around for groceries. Pricing seemed about average, given the inflation that has continued under the current presidential administration. There is a Starbucks inside; I noticed only tourists seemed to purchase items there, however. Staff was very friendly in pointing me to the clean restrooms. Free parking in the lot. read more

This Bashas has been around the area for as long as I can remember. It is the major grocery in the area for the Navajo community. Nothing fancy and probably could use a face lift. It suits the need for basics. Shared parking spaces. read more

Everything you need when you stop at the grocery store! Happy they had deli so we could take things for a picnic when exploring Monument Valley and surrounding points of interest. Well stocked grocery, friendly, large and clean. read more

We stopped in for some last minute snacks- we were headed to Monument Valley and this is the last real civilization before getting there. We got a couple donuts, chips and cookies from the bakery. Easy to shop at. Plenty of parking, this store was very busy when we went. Lines moved quickly at check out and the employees were very friendly. read more

The fruit and vegetable section smells like something was rotten , the bathrooms were okay on the men's side and nasty on the woman's side. The hot food at the deli counter was mildly okay. My wife said this was the work Bashas she's ever been in however we were in the middle of nowhere. we both thought this was odd that we had to get our temperature taken before walking into the grocery store. For being miles away from any major town this place has a decent price on produce; $0.99 a pound for pears, $0.66 per avocado, $0.59 a pound for bananas. They have everything you need - meat, bread, produce, coffee, nuts, dairy, etc. They have a bakery and a hot counter. There is also a check cashing station inside. read more

When Kayenta Trading Post closed a few years back. Bashas' became the only grocery store in this small town of 5,000 residents. Anyways, myself being a resident of Kayenta, you can find all the amenities as you would find in a larger grocery chain. The store dose have a descent selection on food in the produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and deli department. Also, look out for the weekly add every Wednesday, a lot of great deals that are too resist to grab. Anyways, you do have to be a member of Bashas' in order to receive the discounted deals or you will end up paying the full price. The membership is free so that's a plus for travelers who don't want to pay a membership fee like Sam's Club and Costco. read more

Basha's is a supermarket chain that provides groceries and general merchandise to the Four Corners region. In a part of the country where Walmart, Home Depot, and Target have not penetrated well, Basha's is the primary provider of groceries and many other household needs. For me, it was the place where I purchased provisions for excursions into the American outback. Orange hunting season vests, sweatshirts, broad brimmed hats, beef jerky...Yeah. Rope, first aid, blades and boots. Yeah. That stuff, too, and a pretty good deli for lunches and take out dinners for nights when I was too tired to sit in a restaurant. There are other Basha's in the larger towns. I began to look for them as I drove the deserted two lanes that spider webbed the often moon-like landscape. Where there was a Basha's, there was often a small commercial area with the other things I wanted, like a Whataburger resto, hardware store or trading post. If I did not stock up when I had the chance, there might not be another opportunity until tomorrow. I did not want to run out of gas out there. Basha's is a staple of life in this part of the world. Walked over here from our hotel to pick up desert's and drinks while overnighting in Kayenta. It's a local store (not affiliated with any nationwide chains), with pricing just as good - if not better - as the national chains. You need to have a club card to get the deals, but the cashier was kind enough to just use a courtesy card for me. Tip: Kayenta is on Navajo Nation land, and the entire reservation is dry. If you want alcohol, get it before you stay overnight there! read more

This market is in the middle of nowhere, but they had everything that we needed to take on our trip to Monument Valley. Walking up and down those aisles we found all the products we needed including some pastries to eat in the morning with our coffee. They have their own bakery so the items are fresh behind the glass counter just as you would find at any donut shop. read more

Frequent shopper by no choice - only reputable grocery in this small town. Deli always seems to be lacking decent quality deli foods, some good cold items, pizza is of good quality and price. The store suffers from lack of cashiers at busy times = poor management. There has been times where the produce department has active "fruit flies" and molded vegetables/fruits. There are better Bashas' Dine Markets on the Navajo Reservations, this store I am sure falls near the bottom. read more

Decent grocery, useful for tourists for snacks and drinks before heading north on 163 through Monument Valley.

Stopped for some snacks on our way to Durango, CO. Laverne in the Deli helped us with deep fried green and red chile burritos. She was professional and courteous. Good customer service is always appreciated especially on long road trips. read more

Pricey groceries, but what can you do when it's the only grocery store in town. They have a good deli. Pizza is usually cheaper here than at the local pizzeria, but you get what you pay for. read more

I have to agree with the other reviews as we are local. Its not the top of the line grocery store, and we do not know why its treated differently than the other stores in the chain, with available items. We are still stuck in the 60's with food options. So sheepherder specials, are still the normal fare. However, recently we got a lot of quick responses from the management by email, for specially requested items, and it was no time till they got it in. If you have time, and you think of an item that you want out here in advance, I would say email them because they are very responsive to stocking requested items reliably. It would be nice to have wifi, but I guess they are depending on the shopping center for this. Hard to know where to stand to get it. Has Apple Pay now. read more

Deli manager chooses to serve employees before customers who were waiting in line to eat breakfast before work. If this is the kind of service I can expect from the store, I choose not to support it and will drive 150-200 miles to the nearest boarder town for lower prices and similar service. Will also advise family and friends to do the same. Good luck staying in business with that kind of employee. read more
