The Safeway pick up movers are not honest. They told us that the Wardrobe box was 23 cubic fit and total volume was 800 cubic feet. They asked $1200 more, but we paid $650 more after negotiation. When our stuff arrived at our new house, we found that the wardrobe box was actually $13 cubic feet. The pickup movers were liars.

Please read before booking! This company operates more like a moving broker than an actual moving company. Brokers don't own trucks, don't employ the movers, and often sell your job to another company -- which explains why the contract feels so concerning. Here's what stood out: 1) Extremely low liability for damaged items. They aren't responsible for fragile items unless they pack them. My family learned this the hard way (see photos). 2) You pay 90% before delivery. They require 40% upfront and another 50% at pickup -- meaning you've paid almost everything before your belongings even arrive. 3) They can legally hold your belongings. The contract allows them to keep -- and even auction -- your items until you pay any charges they claim. 4) Delivery dates are meaningless. Verbal promises don't count. The delivery window can be up to 6 weeks not including storage time, weather delays, or other exceptions. Even the "premium service" (which costs extra) only guarantees dates if both sides agree in writing. 5) They can use subcontractors without telling you. Your belongings may pass through multiple unknown hands, making accountability and claims much harder. 6) They take no responsibility for damaged electronics period 7) They can change your estimate on the spot; the classic bait‑and‑switch tactic And this doesn't even cover what happens if you try to pursue anything legally -- that's a whole separate nightmare. Please think twice (and then a third time) before choosing this company. Read the contract carefully, or have a lawyer or AI review it. My family's experience was awful, and I hope this helps someone avoid the same situation.

BUYERS BEWARE! Make sure you read the fine print because they will nickel and dime the hell out of you and then ghost you completely when you submit a claim. The experience was honestly terrible from the start. I coordinated the move with Udi Avni who originally quoted the move from Maryland to Texas at $3,950.00 for a 1 bedroom apartment. By the end of the move I ended up paying $5,246.96. They literally take a measuring wheel from their truck to the apartment and charge you an extra $70.00 per 50 feet that the movers have to walk as well as an extra $75.00 elevator charge. On top of that, Udi had the wrong date listed for the pick up so the movers came a day early and I had to take off work. Lastly, when they came to drop off my stuff in Texas, a computer desk was broken in two pieces. I've been reaching out to the Texas moving coordinator, Jaime Fries, for weeks now and she's completely ignoring me on this issue. The lack of communication and professionalism with this company is baffling. I recommend avoiding them at all costs.

I've heard the old adage "if it sounds too good to be true...". Using Safeway proved to be exactly that. Quick back story, moving storage from one state to another, it had been 14+ years since we put in storage. So we discusssed how pricing could change if there was surprises. We settled on 3995.00. A payment expectation was set up and they started out on time as promised. Then it stared to go down hill from there. Of course cubic footage was off, to the toon of 7100 and change. And they had everything already loaded and ready to go. When i asked why it nearly doubled the "carrier" expressed i had to work that out with Safeway. Well being in washington state and the safeway people are in Florida they were closed. With no 24hr customer service number. They said they could either unload it all on the spot or at thier warehouse fir a storage fee of course. So i said iwill contact safeway the next day and we came to a compromise. But all the pay arrangements were different then originally planned...making for some untrustworthy transactions...with a 3rd party i wasn't made aware of at the beginning of this business relationship. They did arrive however on time and exceeded expectations but i then faced additional fees for distance from truck?! I already paid for a surprise elevator upon pickup...to avoid known step fees...but this was too much. Its my opinion these are ways they can enhance thier "take home " amount. Again it was a pay or else situation. Unload took a long time and it was my fault for not checking things off as they were unloading but many things were missing. Most were were not anything i couldn't live without, but some were significant like an end table to a bedroom set. The invoice mentioned 5 endtables no description. I only own 4...so its impossible to claim...but even had impeccable documentation it wouldnt monetarily make much difference for replacement with safeways 3rd party claim remedy. So not eorth the time...more loss. That gies fir all the items damaged as well. Things they assured me would be protected because we discusssed them initially when getting original estimate. So please think twice before using this company, and if you do...document everything!! I should also share that thier response to my situation was a form letter and the contact information of the 3rd party claim company that was so indifferent to the situation and makes the process so incredibly involved and tedious that it becomes instantly appearance futile. Which I'm sure is by design.

Moving is stressful enough but Safeway went above and beyond all of my expectations to make us comfortable throughout the entire process.
