It's a smaller Safeway than I'm used to, but still has a good selection. Decent area, nice staff, I far prefer shopping here over the competition down the road with what feels like 400,000 sf of stuff I am not shopping for. Just need some groceries, and want the good stuff that I don't have to walk 1/4 mile through the rain in the parking lot, then past the aisles of pesticides, sneezing children in the toy aisle, and car batteries to get there. read more

I don't know what other grocery stores are available in this area. I honestly sought out a grocery store in order to find a bathroom! --They do have one of those and it's open during the day (there was a sign that stated it would be closed through the night). The store did not feel like it was in a "good part of town"-- and it's definitely not fancy or new, by any means. However, I was able to find a few snacks and drinks to buy because it was laid-out the way most Safeway stores are, and I certainly never felt like it was unsanitary or unsafe. I arrived at the back of the self-checkout line at the exact time as another customer-- he waved me in front of him, which was kind and polite. If I ever need a snack or bathroom in Marysville again, I have no reason not to stop here. read more

the produce has gotten better since going from albertsons to safeway. However that is not going to be enough, the women that work the front (self check out) have gotten so rude that after 20 something yrs of being g a loyal customer, I don't think I will continue being loyal. If I wanted to be treated poorly I could head over to my mother in laws house. There's a gray haired lady and a gal with bright blue hair that are so grouchy that asking a question at self check out you wince a bit because u are def asking for to much no matter what the question may be. Tonight someone came in the exit doors. Gray hair lady yelled thats a exit do not enter again for the next time. When leaving I looked and the carts were blocking the slim path over to the 1 enterence. This has been an issue more than half the times I have been there. If I could give zero, sorry no. NEGATIVE I absolutely would. I had placed delivery order for pregnancy cravings as I am not driving right now. I wanted standard delivery and it took 2 and a half HOURS instead of 35 mins. Nobody had worked on my order for almost 2 hours and took 30 minutes to get to my house when it is a five minute drive. Stopped by the deli to have some breakfast sandwiches made and I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and having my food made by Caycee. I was completely blown away by the level of customer service, kindness and professionalism that Caycee shared with me. The experience with her was very noticed, felt, appreciated and left a mark on me for the rest of the day and I actually still think about it every now and then. The customer service at this safeway is questionable the lady that works at the self checkout I witnessed her bullying minors and assuming things instead of asking questions to make sure she was right. From what I witnessed the way she spoke to and treated the minors was not ok someone like this should not b working at a family store. Also when I needed help with the cash back option her response to me is why don't I just use the ATM. I do very little shopping here but as of late the past year or so I'm finding the few things that I need really quickly and easily at pretty good prices and I'm out the door quickly. They seem to be keeping the store a little cleaner than a few years ago. Lets start with the ""Customer service"" desk, which is always empty and when it is manned, the employee acts like your very existence is an affront to humanity. It's either a great irony or a practical joke that the only people who work the customer service desk are the least likeable people on Earth and act like you're putting them out by being there. If you don't like the job, find a different one! I dropped by here after work to get a toothbrush, and took $60 cash out at the self-checkout. Was so exhausted I totally forgot about the money, and started walking to my car. Two female employees somehow noticed this (one white, one black) and returned my money to my hand before I made it out the door in a very polite, cheerful way. It was seriously so above and beyond customer service, I was shocked. Excellent staff, must be an excellent manager doing the hiring. Filthy restrooms and you wonder why... well let me tell you. There's a sign off sheet that staff sign off on that indicates it's clean and stocked. Come out of a stall to wash my hands and find an employee that literally just came in signing off on it 12pm ish today and then left without even looking at anything in the restroom which was filthy and needed to be stocked with supplies. So I decided to read it. A manager is also supposed to review it every hour to ensure things are being completed, clearly not happening since it's not even signed off every hour. read more

Went in today to get some Chinese food. The deli staff was awesome, however the cashier at the self check out was extremely rude. The checkout machine was acting up and kept saying unexpected item, and to take it out, I kept doing so, and it wouldn't work, so I looked over at the cashier, and she, and I quote said " it's cause you keep flinging your items on and off the scale, stop moving them." First off, I wasn't flinging any of my items. I had 2, and I kept taking them off the scale, cause the stupid machine kept telling me to. The parking lot can be a bit of a derby, and patrons clueless about aisle directions, but this Safeway is clean, organized, and well stocked. Made my first friend in my new home in one of the clerks! (yay Dierdre!). The staff are fairly personable and friendly, always helpful. Tough to complain about a store where the butcher says 'no, we never have soup bones, just those bags of dog bones over there'. I picked up a bag and made the best bone broth in my life! I ordered a delivery order. When it was received it was damaged and I advised the delivery driver to return this as I wasn't going to accept the box. Since this I have called customer service 6 times and I have had 2 online chats, and a representative called and left a message with no follow-up. With all this all I receive is promises that I will receive the refund, however no refund so far. I am polite and I always wait the 3-5 days that they always promise before I call again. I consistently get the reference numbers. Not that that matters because it is like starting over with each new person. This last person stated the word "promise" that my refund will be returned to me within 3-5 days. Today is day 6 and guess what no money. Just remember they can prosecute theft but what happens when they cannot return my money?? Nothing but another headache and more time of my life I can never get back. Will never order online again. Yesterday, I went to purchase coffee at Starbucks. There was really bad experience in my life, the lady who took the order was really rude and did bad manner to me. I tried to order coffee for myself and my wife via FaceTime, I pointed the iPhone camera to the menu board behind the counter to ask my wife what kind of coffee she wanted but suddenly the lady told me that I couldn't take her video, that's so funny that I didn't even care about her but just wanted to let my wife pick which one she wanted to drink. Why that lady is so stupid like that ?????????? This case happened on December 10, 2016 at 11.15 am, there were 2 ladies work, the said stupid lady was the one who took my order. I posted to the pharmacy page as well but will no longer be doing our grocery shopping here either. I'm done putting up with substandard service and a a parking lot where drug transactions and panhandling is commonplace for convienance. But this was the last straw. My doctors office electronically sent in 2 prescriptions I needed today to the Safeway Pharmacy on State in Marysville around 4:30. Im tired of showing up and my prescriptions not being ready, so at 4:38 I called to ask what time I should pick them up. They pharmacy staff told me an hour and half to 45 minutes! I remarked 'really, and hour and 45 minutes thats a long time' she said yes and she was sorry. I said I'd be in then when its ready to get it. My husband showed up at 6:15 to pick up the prescriptions and what do you know, the pharmacy is closed!! What a horrible thing to tell a customer who needs medicine, to pick it up after the pharmacy is closed!! I have to wait until tomorrow for my prescriptions. Thanks alot! I'm transferring my prescriptions to the new Walgreens down the street. They're farther, but at least they have better service. read more

Biggest gripe.. The Deli. Why can't they cut their meat and cheese fresh? Seems like none of the grocery stores in Washington do, but since this is my local grocery store of choice (Albertsons deli is worse), it's more irritating. Port of Subs can do it, why not you? On the rare occasion the meet of your choice is not already cut, or the cheese that is already there and has dried crusted edges, the employees come across annoyed if you ask them to slice fresh. Also the lines are usually a bit much as you have usually 1-2 employees servicing the hot to go section while your waiting all the way down the end where the cold cuts are to be noticed. I purchased a half pound of salami, made my fiancé a sandwich a day and a half later and he got SO SICK. Brought it back to the store to let the smell for themselves the rancid smell they took my word for it, apologized), but that may not be an issue in the future if the meat was cut fresh to order.. read more

Wife and I were going to Hibulb Cultural center, but we were early and hungry. I wanted to go to a restaurant, but she insisted on saving money and stopping at Safeway deli. This was one of the worst delis I have experienced at a Safeway. I had a chicken breast that was the consistency of jerky. I would expect this at the end of the day, but it had just come out of the fryer. My wife had some of the Chinese fair, I knew it wouldn't be good, but it was actually worse than I expected too.
