I don't expect much from a $27 cake, but the least your lazy bakery employees could do is read the instructions and have some creativity for a kids birthday. And the older lady that handed over the cake was rude. Jeeze. read more

Safeway - There was nothing added to the cake besides what I added. And the old lady who gave me the cake was rude as all get out. - Grocery Near Me - Marysville, Washington

It's a smaller Safeway than I'm used to, but still has a good selection. Decent area, nice staff, I far prefer shopping here over the competition down the road with what feels like 400,000 sf of stuff I am not shopping for. Just need some groceries, and want the good stuff that I don't have to walk 1/4 mile through the rain in the parking lot, then past the aisles of pesticides, sneezing children in the toy aisle, and car batteries to get there. read more

I don't know what other grocery stores are available in this area. I honestly sought out a grocery store in order to find a bathroom! --They do have one of those and it's open during the day (there was a sign that stated it would be closed through the night). The store did not feel like it was in a "good part of town"-- and it's definitely not fancy or new, by any means. However, I was able to find a few snacks and drinks to buy because it was laid-out the way most Safeway stores are, and I certainly never felt like it was unsanitary or unsafe. I arrived at the back of the self-checkout line at the exact time as another customer-- he waved me in front of him, which was kind and polite. If I ever need a snack or bathroom in Marysville again, I have no reason not to stop here. read more

Yeah so self checkout is crazy people shouldn't have to be treated like thieves when purchasing items there was a young man last night who literally watched me while I was making my purchases so much as to the point where he can see the amount and the pin number I was putting in for my card I'm saying this because there was nobody there when a young lady was purchasing her items but as soon as I was ready to check out there this guy was this has happened before but still happens it's 2025 I shouldn't have to deal with this read more

the produce has gotten better since going from albertsons to safeway. However that is not going to be enough, the women that work the front (self check out) have gotten so rude that after 20 something yrs of being g a loyal customer, I don't think I will continue being loyal. If I wanted to be treated poorly I could head over to my mother in laws house. There's a gray haired lady and a gal with bright blue hair that are so grouchy that asking a question at self check out you wince a bit because u are def asking for to much no matter what the question may be. Tonight someone came in the exit doors. Gray hair lady yelled thats a exit do not enter again for the next time. When leaving I looked and the carts were blocking the slim path over to the 1 enterence. This has been an issue more than half the times I have been there. Maybe if ur in self checkout go look to see why customers are going in the exit. Especially since that was the entrance for 20ish yrs, just 2 months ago. I dont ask alot from my local grocery store, but a kind smile goes far. Something you will not get with these employees. With that being said there are still a few VERY amazing people that work at the safeway Marni, the gray haired guy with an accent and curly haired gal with a boot on her foot but please don't keep people that have no business being in a customer service based company, I get ur union and it's hard to get of people but washington state is at will fire state. Do urself a.favor and get rid of ur toxic ladies u have at our safeay. read more

If I could give zero, sorry no. NEGATIVE I absolutely would. I had placed delivery order for pregnancy cravings as I am not driving right now. I wanted standard delivery and it took 2 and a half HOURS instead of 35 mins. Nobody had worked on my order for almost 2 hours and took 30 minutes to get to my house when it is a five minute drive. Safeway employees at this location need to provide better service. I order and expect it within the hour not nearly 3 hours read more

Stopped by the deli to have some breakfast sandwiches made and I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and having my food made by Caycee. I was completely blown away by the level of customer service, kindness and professionalism that Caycee shared with me. The experience with her was very noticed, felt, appreciated and left a mark on me for the rest of the day and I actually still think about it every now and then. Thank you Caycee for being one of those kind of people and for being so willing to share your kindness with the world. It does make a difference. read more

I'm actually rating them 3 1/2 stars. I do very little shopping here but as of late the past year or so I'm finding the few things that I need really quickly and easily at pretty good prices and I'm out the door quickly. They seem to be keeping the store a little cleaner than a few years ago. During the summer months there's a lot of shady characters hanging around outside and in the parking lot for some reason. read more

Kinda pissed if I'm being honest, I came here to get flowers for my mom and gave the girl 3 bouquets to put together, she basically yanked all the leaves out and broke a few roses, I don't know what to do, almost paid $50 for this shity service read more

Safeway has gone down, the past few times I've been in the store they have one line open unless you want to check yourself. The checker moves slow and not friendly. I have shopped this store for 20 plus years and cant believe how bad it has become. read more

The customer service at this safeway is questionable the lady that works at the self checkout I witnessed her bullying minors and assuming things instead of asking questions to make sure she was right. From what I witnessed the way she spoke to and treated the minors was not ok someone like this should not b working at a family store. Also when I needed help with the cash back option her response to me is why don't I just use the ATM. She seemed very angry not family friendly just for having to do her job and help a customer. read more

I dropped by here after work to get a toothbrush, and took $60 cash out at the self-checkout. Was so exhausted I totally forgot about the money, and started walking to my car. Two female employees somehow noticed this (one white, one black) and returned my money to my hand before I made it out the door in a very polite, cheerful way. It was seriously so above and beyond customer service, I was shocked. Excellent staff, must be an excellent manager doing the hiring. TLDR: If you rated this Safeway below 5 stars, u r my enemy 4 life read more

If I could leave a zero star review of this location, I would. The staff are extremely rude; it's like Safeway took all the worst employees and shoved them in the same store. Lets start with the ""Customer service"" desk, which is always empty and when it is manned, the employee acts like your very existence is an affront to humanity. It's either a great irony or a practical joke that the only people who work the customer service desk are the least likeable people on Earth and act like you're putting them out by being there. If you don't like the job, find a different one! Thing is, the rest of the staff act the same way and I know this isn't the same across all Safeway's as I've been to other locations and it's not like this... don't know who's managing this location, but they need to be fired, shot, or forced to scrub the toilets 'cause they can't hire for S***. read more

Terrific location, even better selection of Ben & Jerry's --- probably 3x what we have in Canada. Flavours that I never heard before. Big store inside big plaza. And bathrooms right beside customer service. Hate those ones where you're trying to find in the back when that #2 feeling is coming! read more

Safeway - Love the states, way more selection than Canada! - Grocery Near Me - Marysville, Washington

Beverly is amazing!! This woman has worked throughout the pandemic dealing with thieves and rude people at the self check out and still she has a great attitude and goes above and beyond!! From one essential worker to another you my lady are truly a rare breed!! read more

Filthy restrooms and you wonder why... well let me tell you. There's a sign off sheet that staff sign off on that indicates it's clean and stocked. Come out of a stall to wash my hands and find an employee that literally just came in signing off on it 12pm ish today and then left without even looking at anything in the restroom which was filthy and needed to be stocked with supplies. So I decided to read it. A manager is also supposed to review it every hour to ensure things are being completed, clearly not happening since it's not even signed off every hour. read more

Went in today to get some Chinese food. The deli staff was awesome, however the cashier at the self check out was extremely rude. The checkout machine was acting up and kept saying unexpected item, and to take it out, I kept doing so, and it wouldn't work, so I looked over at the cashier, and she, and I quote said " it's cause you keep flinging your items on and off the scale, stop moving them." First off, I wasn't flinging any of my items. I had 2, and I kept taking them off the scale, cause the stupid machine kept telling me to. I'm not sure what crawled up her butt and died, but today reminds me why I'll never support this store. The cashiers are rude as hell, always have been. read more

The parking lot can be a bit of a derby, and patrons clueless about aisle directions, but this Safeway is clean, organized, and well stocked. Made my first friend in my new home in one of the clerks! (yay Dierdre!). The staff are fairly personable and friendly, always helpful. Tough to complain about a store where the butcher says 'no, we never have soup bones, just those bags of dog bones over there'. I picked up a bag and made the best bone broth in my life! Blessed to have them around the corner! read more

I am so disappointed when i shop at safeway these days on several occasions i recieved dry chicken and jojo's that were uneatable . Stale items in the bakery more than once. Not enough product on the shelves. I don't know if this is a management issue but it really needs addressed. It's to expensive to have to throw away food that should be sold fresh. Thank you. read more

They give preferential treatment. They allowed another business to come In and purchase a ton of ice and wouldn't let my business even purchase 2 bags of ice. The manager said their was a limit and just took our cart away but it doesn't advertise a limit anymore and they didn't tell other customers their was a limit. read more

i just wanted to let everyone know, that i needed to get gas on my way home from work, because of covid i have to travel farther from home. i decided to stop at safeway to get gas (this isn't my norm) the attendant working the pumps on 11/16 at roughly 7pm was giving me the creeps. watching me pump my gas. well turns out my card got skimmed. Ugh. I only come to this location because it is by my office. That being said, the store is well stocked, nice layout and clean. Negatives: Every single clerk I have encountered here from Starbucks to deli to cashier, is so rude and hates their job. Customer service is your job, please be nice. Seattle Freeze is more than real at this location. They always have like 2 cashiers open and a rush of people. read more

I ordered a delivery order. When it was received it was damaged and I advised the delivery driver to return this as I wasn't going to accept the box. Since this I have called customer service 6 times and I have had 2 online chats, and a representative called and left a message with no follow-up. With all this all I receive is promises that I will receive the refund, however no refund so far. I am polite and I always wait the 3-5 days that they always promise before I call again. I consistently get the reference numbers. Not that that matters because it is like starting over with each new person. This last person stated the word "promise" that my refund will be returned to me within 3-5 days. Today is day 6 and guess what no money. Just remember they can prosecute theft but what happens when they cannot return my money?? Nothing but another headache and more time of my life I can never get back. Will never order online again. Rethinking the store visits as well. read more

Employees are eh with their service, place is disgusting, have tweakers and homeless hanging out by the doors, have seen rats running through isles you tell an employee and they think your joking, customer service is bad, oh and if there's a storm don't go here apparently they don't have generators and take everything that needs to be cooled and I guess that affects them being able to unlock liquor cabinets so I don't get to eat or drink! Endless issues every time will not be returning there is one in lake stevens or a Fred meyers down the road! read more

I called Safeway to the floral department to see if they could put together a bouquet for my mother and I spoke to Erin. She made it very easy and quick. Yesterday, I went to purchase coffee at Starbucks. There was really bad experience in my life, the lady who took the order was really rude and did bad manner to me. I tried to order coffee for myself and my wife via FaceTime, I pointed the iPhone camera to the menu board behind the counter to ask my wife what kind of coffee she wanted but suddenly the lady told me that I couldn't take her video, that's so funny that I didn't even care about her but just wanted to let my wife pick which one she wanted to drink. Why that lady is so stupid like that ?????????? This case happened on December 10, 2016 at 11.15 am, there were 2 ladies work, the said stupid lady was the one who took my order. I tryed doing a return at this location and got nothing but the run around one cashier comes down from self checkout tells the cashier they cant return without the recipe so I go outside search my vehicle go back in and get told they can't return it cause it's from a different location and if it's over $10 they can't do the return what a joke since when are you unable to do a return at any store if it's the same store the product came from just different location and can't do a return over $10 with or without the recipe I will never shop at this store again the cashier was rude didn't want to hear anything I had to say this store is a joke there policy's are as well and I'm out $63 for something I don't need and can't even use thanks Safeway read more

Very rude agressive costumer service at bakery. Ordered birthday cake and way to many mistakes.

Nice store, my only peeve are the cashiers(evening). the elder ladies like to gossip among each other and ignore the customers, they've also slammed my eggs into my cart and broke them. I would understand if i was rude to them, but no words were ever said and i smiled at them but they were to busy gossiping. read more

I posted to the pharmacy page as well but will no longer be doing our grocery shopping here either. I'm done putting up with substandard service and a a parking lot where drug transactions and panhandling is commonplace for convienance. But this was the last straw. My doctors office electronically sent in 2 prescriptions I needed today to the Safeway Pharmacy on State in Marysville around 4:30. Im tired of showing up and my prescriptions not being ready, so at 4:38 I called to ask what time I should pick them up. They pharmacy staff told me an hour and half to 45 minutes! I remarked 'really, and hour and 45 minutes thats a long time' she said yes and she was sorry. I said I'd be in then when its ready to get it. My husband showed up at 6:15 to pick up the prescriptions and what do you know, the pharmacy is closed!! What a horrible thing to tell a customer who needs medicine, to pick it up after the pharmacy is closed!! I have to wait until tomorrow for my prescriptions. Thanks alot! I'm transferring my prescriptions to the new Walgreens down the street. They're farther, but at least they have better service. read more

Biggest gripe.. The Deli. Why can't they cut their meat and cheese fresh? Seems like none of the grocery stores in Washington do, but since this is my local grocery store of choice (Albertsons deli is worse), it's more irritating. Port of Subs can do it, why not you? On the rare occasion the meet of your choice is not already cut, or the cheese that is already there and has dried crusted edges, the employees come across annoyed if you ask them to slice fresh. Also the lines are usually a bit much as you have usually 1-2 employees servicing the hot to go section while your waiting all the way down the end where the cold cuts are to be noticed. I purchased a half pound of salami, made my fiancé a sandwich a day and a half later and he got SO SICK. Brought it back to the store to let the smell for themselves the rancid smell they took my word for it, apologized), but that may not be an issue in the future if the meat was cut fresh to order.. read more

Wife and I were going to Hibulb Cultural center, but we were early and hungry. I wanted to go to a restaurant, but she insisted on saving money and stopping at Safeway deli. This was one of the worst delis I have experienced at a Safeway. I had a chicken breast that was the consistency of jerky. I would expect this at the end of the day, but it had just come out of the fryer. My wife had some of the Chinese fair, I knew it wouldn't be good, but it was actually worse than I expected too. I won't come back here for the deli. read more
