After being in the store for 15 minutes my dog is now starting to be less attentive and loosing focus. I go to self check out and get confronted by a middle aged woman who I assume worked for Walmart (she never introduced herself or said hello). This woman said "We don't allow pets in our store." Me being uncomfortable and un confrontational replied with okay because a break was clearly needed for me and my dog, I turn around to pay and leave and she continues to repeat herself. I said "Okay i'm almost done." I get replied back to with "Your pet needs to leave the building." This went on for the full 5 minutes it took me to finish checking out.. she threatened to call KPC and continued to tell me my dog was a pet and that this was illegal. General reminder out there for those who need it service dogs are not required to wear identification and often can be mistaken for pets, please ask the right questions needed if worried.

I was able to pick up some fishing boxes to ship the fish that I caught home. FredMeyer stores operate in northwestern United States. This location in Soldotna is open everyday 6 AM - 11 PM. They have a pharmacy and a fuel center. They also offer grocery pickup for online shoppers.

Coopers Landing and Sterling were actually cheaper than here. And the gas station was so overcrowded with cars, if you have a big RV it feels tight. And worse, the middle part of the middle lane of the station is cluttered with vending machines or snacks etc, NOT gas pumps. So, what a waste of a gas lane on Both Sides. In general the price here was similar to all the other places in town, and with these extra annoyances it's just not a good place to refill your RV or your rig.

Nothing is cheap in Alaska so being able to buy in bulk is I know very nice for residents. There is a Walmart in town just a couple blocks away so they compliment each other. I did buy 6 umbrellas for $0.99 each so that was actually a deal. Yes these are throwaways but can be spread around one's life (car, purse, back pack etc) for the inopportune moments where it is raining way more than expected.
