I took lessons with Paul 5 years ago. I was 30 years old. I had never driven and I was as scared as…read moreany new driver could be. Paul helped me from day 1 where we didn't even use the gas pedal, just coasting, to my driver's license exam. I did pass on my first try! He gave tips and tricks that would help for the exam as well as driving in real life. He was firm/assertive when needed but I also felt safe and comfortable as a terrified driver. He made me step outside of my comfort zone. He loaned me his sunglasses when I couldn't see. Because of Paul's help, I am able to work jobs that involve driving. I can now drive giant diesel trucks and haul trailers for work. Yesterday I drove 420 miles in one day. While I will never be a carefree driver, I attribute my driving success to Paul and First Pass Driving. I am eternally grateful for his help.

He gave typical responses for why someone wouldn't do well, but can't bring up specific examples. He didn't even pick pronouns when addressing me. It seriously makes me question if he even knows who he's talking to. Also how many students have had similar experiences. Is the problem truly them? I paid for a 2 week class plus 3 behind the wheel, i registered with a friend & we talked to him before hand & gave us a great back to school discount, my parents were very happy. My class had 3 others, 4 people total. If you make the experience fun, it will be fun. I can tell that he liked our group because we were actually answering his questions and being attentive. Great videos & discussion with Mr. Abdul, I still remember he was great with explaining driving techniques & safety. He enjoyed our class SO much that he bought us pizza & I think we were actually the only class he did this for because we were so kind to him. At times he can be hard to understand but it's easy if you actually listen. Behind the wheel- he scheduled with me 1 at a time & picked me up. I still remember to this day those experiences! Caution* He has a brake on his side and will stop you in the middle of an intersection to tell you what you're doing wrong... which is fine because I was more in a rush to get out of the intersection (residential neighborhood). Another day he took me to practice downtown early on a Saturday morning, it was perfect for practicing one ways without anyone around. He is so friendly and really wants his students to do well. Funny thing is my significant other and I both took drivers ed with him as kids (a year apart) & we both remember to this day, 9 years later, "smog" for lane changing, do's and don'ts from Abdul! So when you get annoyed by waiting and decide to call him and ask if he received your message. He tells you that "I don't have my book with me, you need to call back when I am in the office." If you actually get hold of him and take his class. YOU BETTER BE SELF TAUGHT! Because unless you speak extremely broken English, you will not understand a word he says. He takes the entire payment in full up front. Not a big deal, however, he takes 6 months to get back to you about behind the wheel. He does that, because if he can string you alone then he doesn't have to refund your $100. When I set up my "refund" appointment, he was 45 minutes late. It took another 40 minutes to argue whether or not I needed to call the police. Finally, got $100 returned to me after he accused me of only wanting my money back because I am a racist. (I knew he was Muslim before I paid him and I still signed up for class)

When on Zoom I listened to the classes and I found them to be great teachers, serious but without scaring kids and very informative. Our kids both rave about them as you will hear in their reviews. "Well your payment didn't go through so we weren't going to send someone with our payment. We called you and your husband and left you both voice messages." She said "well I know there were messages because I personally left them, so we weren't going to send anyone over. We gave you until yesterday to call us back, and because your payment didn't go through, we aren't going to schedule anything with you" I responded saying,"I can see why you would think I wasn't interested if you said you called and left messages and didn't hear from me, however, no messages were left so I had no idea you still needed payment or what you cancelled my appointment".
