I give 1 star to their office staff and responsiveness and 5 star to my instructor, Connie. I bought my first class online and called them to schedule. They told me they'd call me back and no one did. I called the next day and got the same response, again no one called me. I went to their office 2 days later and they told me they were on holiday as a reason why nobody returned my calls. If I had been told that they'd be out of office and I had to wait a couple of days, that'd be fine. But they kept telling me they'd return my calls and never did. Similar thing happened with scheduling the road test as well. I called, either no one answered or I was told I will be called back. I had to send a nasty message to finally receive a call and get my test scheduled. On the other hand, my instructor Connie was awesome. She was encouraging and always explaining what to pay attention to during driving. On the exam site, she went over a couple of things we should be careful about. I got my license after the exam. In terms of learning how to drive, it's a good place, if you want to deal with the office staff.

That all changed when I found Alamo Driving School. Mohammed was able to ease my apprehension about driving after one lesson. He has an uncanny ability to know exactly what's holding you back as a driver and give you the tools to fix it yourself. He actually seems to believe in his students and pushes them to succeed. I'm now a licensed driver thanks to Alamo Driving School and I'll always remember the driving tips I've picked up from this place. Recommended: Buy the 6 hours behind the wheel and have them drop you off for your drivers test. This worked out amazingly for me and I've heard the same from everyone else I know who took Alamo Driving School.

I've only been to the Uptown Y before, but am so glad I checked this location out! PARKING: They have a private lot and it's $1 (I believe for the first hour, and then $1 each hour after), which is nice to have downtown! Entrance is by buzzer only. AMENITIES: Similar to other Y locations in Minne, you'll find a pool, sauna, hot tub, two weights areas, a few rooms for group fitness classes, a basketball court, and more here. OFFERINGS: They offer private training (3 free sessions when you sign up), group fitness classes, swim workout classes, massage and more here. They even have a childcare area! ATMOSPHERE: I loved the vibe here! Peaceful music playing, not crowded at all (I did go at 4pm so probably best the evening rush), extremely nice updated bathrooms (with all-gender option), and well cared for equipment and amenities. PRICE: I joined in January for $0 joiner fee and $66/month for the year - competitive with other gyms in the area with similar amenities, and your money goes to a non-profit with a great cause! Highly recommend this location!

They have a pool that is always open for lap swimming, hot tub and sauna. They have lots of cardio equipment and free weights. They also have olympic lifting gear including bumper plates. The trainers are top notch. I have taken Olympic weight lifting and boot camp at this location and have always had a blast. The inner courtyard makes for a great area to do incline or decline sprints or body weight workouts. This is my go to gym when I am in Minneapolis. The best part is they are a non profit and put all the money you pay into community development with an emphasis on empowering women and girls. What is not to love!

He explained to me what my mistakes were and worked on correcting those mistakes. He was able to explain everything I needed to do for me to pass my exam. He was strict, but he was the best driving teacher. He helped me gain confidence and get comfortable driving on the actual road. I highly recommend Sunrise Driving School (especially if you came from a different state/country, as Minnesota has its own laws and regulations). It's a lifetime investment, and it's worth every penny. If you're struggling with your driving test, consider enrolling in a driving school like Sunrise. With the help of an experienced instructor, you, too, can pass your test and gain the confidence to drive safely on the road. Thank you so much, Mez!

I'm all the way in Brooklyn park and he's lives in Wisconsin so he takes the time to come out to me even when it's far. He's has the best behind the wheel advice than any other driving school and the best cars lol. Really nice cars to where I've become jealous lol. We tested at Arden Hills and I was quite nervous that I'd fail because I've been told by many people that Arden Hills was the hardest location to test at and there was bad instructors. I guess I was lucky to have a sweet examiner and good instructor because they all know him(the owner). I assume it's all about how you drive in order for you to consider Arden Hills "hard." The first time I failed and that was because I was EXTREMELY nervous and I was told I only had two mistakes (Wrong lane when turning and not stopping longer at a stop sign). I've done some research on who has the cheapest BTW in Minneapolis and so far it's been Silverlake. A+ charges $425 for their package while Silverlake is $275 however I did have an extra $200 added to my account since we added an extra hour and another road test. I honestly haven't been with any other drivers that Matt has but if you get Matt, it's your lucky day. I also haven't been to his classroom since I was over 19 but I'm pretty sure his classroom is just as great as his driving lessons

By being careful and causious we now have to pay an additional $50 to extend the time he can take behind the wheel? For reference I had two other children go through their school's behind the wheel program. They were contacted and all 3 behind the wheel sessions were scheduled at once. They communicated with us when one of my children hadn't scheduled yet, to let us know they'd expire soon. However, at Safeway they let my sons expire, without communicating this. I had to call and pay $50 to extend it. I then tried to schedule these lessons online but as soon as they're released, they're gone. I called to explain how tedious and inefficient this process is and was told he could get on the schedule for a Tuesday at 12:15 during school. I explained how ridiculous that is and was offered one more appointment for a month later a few cities away. I took it and then wanted to schedule the other two lessons. I was told no, I would have to wait until the end of the month again and try to get in when everyone else is and the appointments are gone fast! And then I would have to do that again the next month! I requested a refund so I can do behind the wheel lessons elsewhere. Supposedly I'll be getting a check for $150 in the mail. I will be reporting this scam of a business to the better business bureau as well. Not only do they have a ridiculous process: they also don't apologize for it and just repeat the same information without hearing the issues for what they are. Do not go here for behind the wheel lessons! Save yourself the hours I spent trying to get what I paid for.
