The lady who administered the driving exam was rude and confrontational before the exam even started. It was jarring how short and snappy she was before we even had any interactions, leaving my son even more nervous. He passed, so she was fair in her assessment, but there is no reason to be so blatantly mean. I hope she was just having a bad day, because the whole experience was so unnecessarily tense it was surreal. read more

Very unprofessional. Was late to the appointment after specifically telling us not to be late. Knew it wasn't going to go well from the moment I began the instructor had a demeanor like he was seriously bothered to be there and did a poor job conducting the test. read more

(Please note, this review refers to road test experiences via Safeway Driving LLC occurring at site 740 St Mary St. ) Honestly, the place itself doesn't seem as bad as my review will make it sound but honestly I've come out of it feeling worthless so many times now, I figured this review doesn't really matter all that much in the grand scheme of things. I don't have a car, I can't practice driving without one, and that's nobody's problem but my own but my experiences with all three instructors are all different: Autumn: honestly she's just doing her job, I failed that test fair and square. She was encouraging and seemed genuine. Honestly no complaints. Nick/Chris(can't really remember his name): there has never been a time in my life where I wanted to punch someone in the face and break their stupid aviator glasses. Now mind you Chris/Nick isn't a bad instructor but being in a car with him makes a five car pile up seem like a vacation. He's your classic know it all whose idea of motivation is just being a dick. I actually terminated my test myself because he honestly made me feel I was a fucking idiot. His response at me explaining that people like me who can't always afford to get all the practice necessary (because we don't have a fucking vehicle) was "you failed yourself, try harder next time". Look, if you've read this far somehow, know that I don't particularly like this guy but if you like him as an instructor, good for you. I hope you pass, even if it's just so this guy can have some joy in his clearly miserable, pathetic life. The white white haired woman: honestly, this lady just seemed like she was rushing the test to get it over with, no lie, I think she jumped in the front seat before I fully parallel parked. I don't really have too much to say, she was a good balance of Autumn with some slight Nick/Chris tendencies. But in fairness, she's the instructor I finally passed the basic skills test with so I'm a bit biased towards her. I didn't even care about what she criticized me for, I finally got past the frigging parallel parking portion so I was on cloud nine. I did make an illegal left turn so I can't even be mad, I scared her and myself half to death behind the wheel so I have nothing bad to say about her as a person or instructor. Overall if you take your road test at 740 St Mary Street, you've got capable enough people examining you. You may want to shoot them in the head for getting snooty with you but hell $90 for a road test and vehicle rental is a decent price. If I ever pass my road test, I'll guilt myself into taking this review down but until then. Happy driving. read more

I was very nervous and autumn was my instructor she was honest and fair. you can definitely trust her judgment upon safe and ready drivers.

The lady with the many piercings was unclear with her directions. She said to pull up to the dotted line and then marked down for not pulling past the line. She was more in a hurry to get the diving test done than to conduct it properly. Not one cone was hit and still failed the driving test in 5 minutes, and never even made it out of the parking lot. She was unrealistic with her expectations. You aren't supposed to be a mind reader or an expert driver for a road-ready test for a driver's license. My son has already been driving for 2 years and just needed to become a legal driver now that he's 18. read more

I was very nervous about my test but Autumn Joseph was so patience and understanding. I'll tell everyone I know about this driving school!

The woman conducted the drivers test failed my daughter within 5 minutes. She told her to pull up to the dotted white lines which she did and said it wasn't far enough-points deducted then said she was too close to the cones points deducted but didn't hit them. While she was doing the parallel parking she stopped her midway and said you're going to fail anyway let's just stop. She was rude at the beginning. My daughter was in tears. She's a great driver and never left the parking lot. I didn't see what the woman did and I honestly think based on the other reviews maybe it's a quick way to make money off ppl. Fail them right away and they get no refund and will have to do it again. I had the guy in the past for my son who passed no issues. When someone else told me their kid had the woman and she failed them I honestly thought maybe the kid needed more work but after seeing what she did I would never recommend anyone take their kid there. read more

By far, the worst group of people I have ever met. Unprofessional, RUDE, disrespectful...shall I continue? Nick, the owner seems to think it's ok to call all women "HON" or "HONEY" which is a NO in my book, also if you ask a question regarding driving or safety etc, the answer is "Did you read the material on line"? ANSWER "Yes, but I was curious why that is" the response from Safeway....."Well, if you don't understand the material, maybe you shouldn't be here" WTH !!! Who talks to a paying customer like that ????? I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this company. Please.....go somewhere else and save yourself from being treating like gum on the bottom of someone's shoe. read more
