Picture showong the gap after installing the new Windsheild on 4/21/2025

I just had your shop reolace my windshield on Mazda CX5 2020 at 8:00 amTodat(4/21/2025) . I noticed a gap between the interior ceiling and the new galss that was installed this Morning. Water leaking from top of my car after botched windshield replacement

Botched my windshield replacement and this front-seat water feature was the result. The water looks like it's coming from the sunglasses holder, but was caused by misalignment at the windshield mounting tabs. I know this after a $912 dealership diagnostic (cue funereal violins). Now get this: When I asked my service underwriter if Safelite is a dumpster fire or an actual business, he told me he'd helped another guy on the Same Day with the Same Problem who'd got his windshield replaced at... SAFELITE. On top of incompetence, they don't pay anyone to do customer service. It took forever for the glass to come in, they broke it, had to get new glass (to actually do the very bad job), and we never knew if/when we could pick up our car up because no one answers the phone. Our car was out of commission a long, long time. What they do pay for is marketing and relationships with insurance companies. Argue with your insurer. Do whatever you can. Take your car somewhere else.

I had a crack in my windshield and called Farmers Insurance (my provider) and I was quickly set up…read morewith an appointment with Safelite. I thought "Great, they replaced my windshield last time, this time should be no problem". The day of the appointment came and in ten minutes the Safelite guy tells me that he sees rust after removing the molding and that he can't replace my windshield or he will be fired. He leaves, having done nothing and I'm left with a car that can't pass inspection. I call my agent, pretty furious, and he gives me Rob's number since he uses Rob personally for his glass needs. I call Rob, and within minutes have a next day appointment and assurance that as long as the metal isn't rusted through, he should have no problem replacing my windshield. I had to work the next day so we work out a plan on where I'll put the deductible check in the car, and when I get home that evening, the windshield is replaced and an invoice is in the seat. I won't use those national chains again. I learned through my local agent that insurance companies get paid money by national chains to be the default providers for claims. In Virginia, I get to chose who does the repairs on my car, so why wouldn't I want the money to go to a local business? The owner answered the phone, got the work done, and I couldn't be more pleased. I'll post the picture of the work done on my 97 Toyota Corolla beater I drive to and from work.
