Had a chip on my windshield repaired by safelite on 925 NW 6th Ter Ocala fl. 34475. Worst experience ever. I was not explained the repair process at all. was only told that the repair would look like a small bug splatter. Nothing about the repair could fail and if it did fail there was no refund. It failed on our way home from their shop. After getting the run around from safelites help center I finally got to speak with the store manager. Explained the problem to him and he was not interested in what I had to say. He refused to refund my money and said he would apply it to a new windshield. Sounds like a scam to sell you a new windshield at a thousand dollars and up. Safelites web site says after the repair is done the vehicle should not be driven for at least 30 minutes. this was not the case. I was given my car right after the repair. When I told the manager this he said the web site is wrong. Had I been told that the repair might fail and that don't do refunds I would have went somewhere else. I had a small crack in my windshield for over 2 years. I came outside last week & the crack had spread all the way to the other side. I immediately made an insurance claim and got set up with these guys to make the repair. I scheduled to have it done at my home- but they called me and stated that the glass they had gotten in was broken. So I had to wait 2 days before my schedule cleared. They guys very extremely professional and helpful! They their jobs & that was that! I think it's nice that they offer coffee & waters in the lobby. I was amazed with the service and attention they gave me. I couldn't drop-off my vehicle, so I had to sit and wait. I read it could be 1 1/2 - 2 hours -- geez I was not looking forward to this visit. I made the appointment online which was super convenient. I arrived early and they immediately took my keys and my vehicle and started working on it. I was made comfortable, they provided water, coffee and snacks and HGTV was on TV. You would not believe only 40 minutes later Shaun drove my vehicle to the front door and handed me the keys. Dropped my car off for its appointment early when my appointment was at 9pm. my girlfriend and I live an hour away and we asked how long will it take my girlfriend had to be at work at 2pm? The guy at the front desk says 2 to 3 hours max. so we drove around Ocala in my other car waiting for it to be done. 3 hours goes by no call or anything then got a text that they stated it. so we drove over there wondering whats going on. they told us "they had trouble with the calibration should be done in about two hours." Now it's almost one we where wondering how we can get my girlfriend to work we where just driving around looking for something to do . she was unable to make it to work due to the car being done at 2:30. When we picked up the car the tech that worked on the car told us that the manager pulled him off doing the car first thing because they wanted him to do another car that wasn't even appointed for. that technician should be a manager he looks like he would kill it. terrible place to go to I'd travel out a little more if you need your windshield done.. read more

I had an appointment or them to come to my house to repair a ding in my windshield and supposed to be here between 12-5, got here at 6 and it was obvious the tech was tired and wanted to go home. He didn't want to do the proper repair and tried convincing me that it could just crack from doing the real repair and that it was very small. safelite contacted mme to confirm my appointment. When I asked for an email quoting their price for my windshi replacement, I was told they do not send price quotes in writing. I told them to come out BUT I need something in writing. The next thing I knew, they sent me a text msg cancelling my appointment. I called them back, questioned who cancelled my appointment and why. I got the "I don't know " answer. They finally sent me an itemized email with fees that were ridiculous. I cancelled. Warning, choose anyone else but Safelite! They came out to replace our windshield that got cracked from a rock. After they left we found that the existing small hairline crack in the dash was now accompanied by a gaping hole, and the installer didn't say a word before he left! I called Safelite to make them aware of the issue and asked that they buy us the part they broke and we would install it ourselves. Got the call today and was told repeatedly "that dash is known to be brittle, we aren't going to replace it, we can buy you a $30 dash cover off Amazon if you want, but that is the most we will do." Are you kidding me?!?!? Your company comes out to replace a windshield, breaks the dash, and thinks somehow they shouldn't be held liable for that?!? In what world?!? If you value your vehicle, I would avoid Safelite. Zero stars. Oh, and the windshield they installed had a scratch in the glass right in front of the drivers line of sight, so they had to come out and replace the glass again, which means we had to wait several more days, then miss work again so they could come replace it again with their lovely 8-12 scheduling time frame. Got a rock flipped at my windshield driving on 200 during one of our many rainy days. What started as a 4" crack, traveled to become appx. 2'. Earl, SafeLite's travelin man, came bye house to fix but couldn't because of camera. He scheduled the Safelite store appt while w/ me. My appt was at 9 a.m. and Seth took the car promptly at 9, fixed the windshield, calibrated the camera, cleaned & vacuumed the car and was done. He was very efficient and did great work. I got a rock chip on my brand new 2017 Corvette. I was sick over it. I called Safelite and made an appointment for the following Wednesday. I couldn't sleep the night before, worried about possible damage to my expensive car. I arrived at 8:00 and explained to the manager of my anxieties of scratches to the paint or damage to the leather interior. He assured me that they are experienced and they will take car of my car. I left and 1 1/2 hours later I received a call, telling me it was finished. I hurried back and checked over the car with a fine toothed comb and it was perfect. This business is the definition of administrative incompetence. They do 1 windshield per hour. If a customer does not show up, the next customer (with an appointment) will not be serviced or will be delayed the amount of time that the previous customer was late. Be smart---use another company. Terrible! I have a huge crack across 75% of the windshield and the earliest appointment for the mobile service was 7 days later. I scheduled the appointment. The day of the appointment, after waiting 1.5 hours (they give you a 4 hour window for appointments), I received a call that they weren't coming and needed to reschedule. I called the regional office in Orlando and was told two techs called in at the Ocala office so they could't make the appointment. I explained I had already waited 7 days for this appointment and asked for another local office to send a tech to fulfill my appointment. I was told no one else was available. They really didn't care either. Terrible service. I'm going to a local shop, that has high reviews and apparently cares about customer satisfaction. I'm actually glad this happened. I wish I was as happy as all the others, but my experience with Safelite was not as good. I, too, had the experience of a landscaper breaking out my back window. The insurance company sent out Safelite. They installed the window but left glass inside the panel saying it was impossible to get it out. Now every time we open the back gate it rattles and pieces of glass fall on us. We also had after market tint on the window and was told that would have to be taken care of elsewhere. I will say, I used Safelite in Clearwater, FL years ago and was very pleased. read more

Safelite may be good when it comes to replacing windshields but for chip repairs I would definitely go somewhere else! The chip repair they did now looks like the original chip with a drop of superglue on it. Also, the chip has continued to "spider" and I am unsure if my insurance will pay for another repair or if I will end up footing the bill! read more
