Safelite did not stand behind its work in my case. They were scheduled to repair a very small chip in the windshield of my van at my home. During the repair attempt, the technician cracked the windshield, turning a minor chip into an approximately 18-inch crack. Safelite then stated that its work was not guaranteed, offered to order a replacement windshield, and said I would be responsible for paying the deductible. There was no meaningful effort to discuss an alternative resolution. Communication throughout the process was also poor. The original appointment was changed without first confirming whether the new time worked for us, and it was difficult to reach a representative for assistance. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Safelite. Overall, the service was disappointing from scheduling through resolution. read more

Scheduling was simple and courteous but I did it on-site, in-person and did not attempt to use the online scheduling that others have criticized. They were able to schedule my windshield replacement within a few days. This was my first time using Safelite. I had expected them to be expensive given all of the advertising I see. I was pleasantly surprised that the price quoted was quite competitive given my previous experience having auto glass replaced at other places. The actual replacement was quick, less than an hour, and the workmanship looks good. I can tell no difference between the replacement and the original installation. A good product, at a reasonable price, good service, and a business I would recommend. I rarely give 5-star reviews and normally that would be worth a four-star review from me. One extra step made it a 5-star review. My damaged windshield had a Kansas Park Pass on it. They took the extra effort to remove the sticker without damaging it and put in on the new windshield. Not a big thing and something I certainly did not expect but appreciated. read more

How do you put 0 stars on here? I never ever do bad reviews.. I don't have time to. But today I do. I bought a brand new car and my windshield cracked from a rock after 2 weeks. I went through my insurance to have it fixed. My insurance recommended safelite. Set an appointment to have the crack repaired (sealed to stop from spreading). The day of the repair it was raining. I asked the guy I think his name was Kayven. I was told that this resin would guaranteed to stop from spreading. THAT IS NOT THE CASE. Couple months later I have a 17 in crack spreading from the initial crack. I called to see about what I could do to get it fixed. They told me that since it's a "failed repair" that my insurance company would be refunded the $75 from the "failed repair" and that I would have to come out of pocket for the deductible or don't go through my insurance and pay safelite. This is very unacceptable from a business to tell you one thing and they don't stand on that. I should've just got the whole windshield replaced from the jump. It makes NO SENSE to do a repair if the "repair" doesn't work. ALSO I HAVE THE WHOLE "REPAIR" ON VIDEO! It is on YouTube. I have had many people tell me in comments that safelite is a joke and that the guy who came out to do my repair should'nt have done it in the rain and that Kayven doesn't know what he's doing. When you say it is "GUARANTEED" then it should be GUARANTEED. I've called numerous times to see how I can get this issue resolved and basically I've been told that the worker should not have said that. I have him on video guaranteeing his work. If the company is not going to stand behind their employees I don't want to do business with them nor will I refer them. SAFELITE NEEDS TO STOP DOING REPAIRS! read more

Not only was Michael a skilled installer but he showed me some things that a local body shop had poorly done and why I'd lost (expensive) stripping around my windshield. Also done by another local business, set and cracked my current windshield down into the car and not where it should've been! I appreciate the professionalism and correct installation of the windshield. The dash and windows were cleaned, unlike either of the other businesses that had done work on my vehicle. Grateful for that there are still craftsmen with integrity that care about their customers and their work. read more

This shop may be excellent, but don't plan on contacting them by phone. Every number takes you to the national automated answering system and you are finally told "thank you" and disconnected. I even spent time with an agent on chat, and was given the shop number and got the same automated run around. When I have questions, and the only thing I can do by phone is schedule an appointment, I will take the business elsewhere where they can answer a phone. read more

My windshield had a lot of cracks from driving through Oklahoma to Texas in January. They use gravel to salt the roads in Oklahoma apparently. I finally got around to calling Safelite after the cracks started to spread. The initial appointment was easy, and the tech showed up earlier than expected. I have a 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser, which apparently is harder to work on, and the tech had never done one before. He puled out a part of the molding that they ordered, and discovered it was the wrong color. That being said, he rescheduled me to come to the shop to have it done, and gave me a discount for the "mobile fee". The day I go to the shop, the manager showed me that the other part they ordered was the same color as the first part ordered, and that there was a problem with the stock numbers at the warehouse. The manager was very nice, and understood my frustration. They called the warehouse and had them physically verify the color part I needed. (I dont understand where you get a red roof molding for an FJ Cruiser, 99% of FJ cruiser roofs are white). The warehouse was taking a while, so he said they would call me to reschedule again, and that they would take off 100 dollars from my deductible for my troubles. As soon as I got home, they called and said they confirmed the right part, and set up my appointment. The tech just finished and the new windshield fits perfectly. I am very satisfied with their professionalism and the way they handled the situation. read more

We were told on the phone when we made the appointment that the failure rate was less than 1% for fixing a chip in the windshield. However, at the appointment the windshield was cracked during the repair and at that point in time they told us the failure rate was a 50% chance. They then failed to produce the receipt we signed that supposedly said we understood the 50% failure rate. Later, when on the phone with their customer service line, this shop apparently claimed they had offered us a discount on a replaced windshield. We were never offered any sort of discount while we were at the appointment. We feel that we were purposely mislead and that this shop does not conduct business honestly. read more

I had gotten my windshield replaced at a safelite 2 hours away, and i'm not sure they put my review mirror back on right because it was wobbly. i went in to this safelite and they took my car right in, and in less than 10 minutes it was back to normal, for free!! the guys there were so so nice and helpful and i definitely recommend them to anyone read more

We were leaving on a trip and trying to work a repair in before we left, had an appointment scheduled for the morning, they had people call in sick so they were running behind, called several times moving appointment back, tech showed up, hurried, talking about all the other appointments he still had, rushed through our windshield repair and broke the window. I am confident that if proper time was taken and the tech wasn't rushed there would have been no issue. This happened over a year ago, but still upsets me. Safelite claimed no responsibility, and said they wouldn't bill my insurance for the repair, Wow, Thanks, now I can pay for a complete new windshield! read more

About 1 year ago I was in need for windshield repair. A simple drill stop and move on. They showed up and started work on my car without cintacting me first. They then "afterwards" made contact with me showing me paperwork that I needed to sign. On the paperwork it stated that windshield breaking completely may happen and that if it did they wouldnt be liable. After it was signed the tech then informed us that during the attempted repair that the windshield completely borke and now needed replacement. I contacted the Safelite office and they immediately told me that they are not liable for the damage and that it so states on the paperwork that I signed. I told them that we didnt see the paperwork or signed anything until after the tech already broke the windshield. They said there's no way to hold the company responsible because there's no time stamp on the work or papers but a date which happened to be the same day. They fought for their innocence, luckily enough I had the car parked at a place with a security camera directly in front of the car and recorded the entire incident to include the tech not making contact with me until the repair had already been attempted. They settled for nearly a 50% reduction in cost of new windshield. I was ok with that. The new tech who installed the windshield was great. One year later my passenger side window trim blew off my car in a heavy wind storm. Safelite said they'll cover the repair. Great. Made an appointment for 4 days later. I specifically told them what type of vehicle it is along with the exact area and part needing replacement. Day 1: Tech shows up and says, my office informed us of the wrong area needing to be repaired. They ordered the window seal that goes around and across the top. I said ok, see you tomorrow. Day 2: I got a phone call at near 11am after I was told that the repair will take place between 8am-12pm. Was informed that they were unable to get the parts ordered in time and that they'll be back tomorrow to complete the repair. Day 3: I got a phone call super early telling me that their warehouse shipped one correct part and one for a completely different vehicle. They apologized and said...see you monday...because no one has to drive or work on weekends im guessing, especially when there is rain in the forecast. So long story short, the techs arent the problem, its communication from the offices and warehouses to the techs which if i didnt have a salary job I would have lost 10hours worth of pay...but that didnt cross their mind apparently. Having a warranty is great but you see how well orchestrated the work is when theyre not getting paid for it. read more
