Well holy freaking moly! Another rock hit my windshield and cracked it BIG time. Got it replaced at Safelite, but about a month later (as we're cruising on the highway), the driver's side molding came off and was hanging by a screw. After a couple of snafus with getting the right parts (mainly because Land Rover re-modified the parts for obvious reasons) we FINALLY got my new Defender back into shape! Thanks so much to the concerted and diligent efforts of Darrin, Michele, Aaron, Collin, Jason and our more recent tech, Jacob, who came to our home not once, but twice! Jacob was da BOMB! Tech botched repair of a minor chip, leaving a glob of resin and a 7-in. crack in our windshield. Tech said not to worry, a replacement windshield would be covered under warranty as a repair defect. Customer service refused this option and offered only to discount the cost of the chip repair (free to pretty much everyone who has insurance, but roughly $70) towards a windshield replacement if done through Safelite. The response was in accordance with their "warranty," (which basically states if they screw up chip repair it's not their fault), and I'm not sure why their techs would be instructed to make promises that contradict those terms. So, not great. Will not be replacing my windshield with them and will use their local competitors for glass work going forward. read more

Got a chip in my windshield driving on the I70 from Denver. Called Safelight and they were able to schedule an appointment and eventually went out of their way and fixed it even sooner so I can get back on my way quickly. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the guy who went ahead and fixed the chip for me even before my appointment time but he did a great job and I appreciate his extra effort (that was on Friday 6/18 at around 1pm). read more

My auto insurance company told me to take my Toyota to safelite in Grand Junction Colorado to get the windshield replaced. I did and now I have a ding. It wasn't there this morning when I washed it, and there was a black scuff in the dent when I picked it up. It's in a spot on the side under the windshield. Dude said he didn't do it and was very rude. He yelled out the door at us. Now looking for a dent repair service In Grand Junction Co. Do not recommend. I should have known when they were able to change it in 30 minutes. Everyone I talked to about it said they are terrible. Wish I knew that. read more

Didn't want to give even one star but it's the lowest rating. I tried to call Safelite only to be told I had to use their website and file on-line (never able to reach a human). The website asked me about the crack, set up an appointment. When I got there the receptionist said they can't fix cracks, only chips and quoted me over $500 for a new windshield. I had gotten a quote for $120 to repair the crack from another company and a quote from a 3rd company for $250 to replace the entire windshield. I am sorry they wasted my time and money (to take time off work and drive there only to be told they couldn't help me today anyway.) Why make an appointment???? This company is a rip-off. read more

We were on a road trip through the west and took a rock in the windshield. I called the main Safelite number and scheduled an appointment in Grand Junction CO. We received a work order number and appointment time. When we arrived the store had no record of the appointment. However, the front desk person went out of her way to figure out what had happened. She and the crew had us back out within the hour. Had I been judging the call center this would have been one star. Even while on the phone the man at the call center was totally incompetent. I have never had a more conscientious, meticulous, skilled (and cheerful!) technician and simply can't speak highly enough of Carlos Serrano. He called me twice before his scheduled arrival hours to update his ETA and was extremely professional and upbeat during a very difficult windshield replacement. My car is nearly 32 years old and the ancient glue surrounding the glass was like concrete. A job that normally takes less than an hour took 3 hours to complete - and might have taken someone other than Carlos far longer. Not only did he have to shatter it completely to expose the seal and labour over removal of tiny shards of glass, he saved the surrounding chrome and made the frame look absolutely factory new. I was warned by the sales person that I would no longer have 'chrome' surrounding the glass as that edging is no longer fabricated after all these years - and had resigned myself to having a hillbilly look by default. EXACTLY the opposite happened with Carlos taking the time to preserve every millimetre of the original chrome. I have never been so impressed with workmanship in my life. I would recommend him 100%: thank you, Carlos, for your diligence and patience. It is so evident how much you love what you do and I appreciate being the recipient of your time and energy! read more

Had a cracked windscreen on my 2018 F350. We are full-time RV'ers pulling a 43' 5th wheel. Made an appointment for when we were in Grand Junction. These guys were great. Appointment was on time, and they took the time to do the installation carefully and correctly. In my earlier 2005 F350, the installers (completely different state) did not do as thorough a job (had to replace the windscreen again 4 months later). Absolutely the worst glass company around, I took my vehicle in for a simple stone chip repair(zero cracks)and what an experience. The front desk lady was very rude and simply stated there was a high probability that they were going to crack my windshield. I should of left Immediately when I herd that. Obviously they don't have any confidence on how to fix glass. Being that I know a lot about glass and how simple of a fix this should of been, I have never been more dissatisfied then this in my life. The so-called technician surely put way too much stress on the glass and caused it to crack across my windshield And at the time the crack was only about 6 to 8 inches long and he also told me that he sealed the whole thing. I immediately knew that my windshield was going to need to be replaced. And sure enough two days later I have a huge crack across my windshield which is just ridiculous. I feel like this was done on purpose and they thought I would just say hey order me a new windshield so I can pay you $900.00 which later I also found out was a lie because my windshield only cost $600.00. Needless to say I would never recommend this place to anybody. read more

Would have given 5 stars, except that phone staff don't have enough ways to locate shops in different parts of the country. I was on a cross-country trip with my husband, to celebrate my dad's birthday and bring him back to live with us. We got a chip in the windshield en route. I didn't want the vibration of the drive to cause the chip to spread into a full-fledged crack by the time we got back, so I wanted to find a glass repair shop somewhere along the way. The web site was not useful at all for finding a location - you had to give a city, and I didn't know what cities to check, and if I did manage to find one in a large city that was too far away, there was no way to zoom the map out and move the center of the map to check other areas. So I called, and the phone people also had to check by city, they couldn't check on a map, and they didn't have unfettered Internet access. Eventually, after a couple of calls, I got someone who was willing to work with me, I got out Google maps on my phone and she checked possible cities as I selected them. We found a shop a couple of hours away in our direction of travel, and only about 10 minutes off the Interstate. I got there right on time, and they were very helpful and had us out in about half an hour. I think it was a little over $100 out the door. Definitely worth it. read more

I'm at 9 weeks many different visits with wrong parts. This has been a horrific experience. Emails claiming some one would come in the next 4 hours, no one shows, no calls. I hated getting email 'reminder', reminder? No one calls and asks to set an appointment with me in the first place. I will not use them again. My car still has the wrong window and the local branch just blames the dealer for supplying the wrong parts, way to pass the buck, your tech can't see it's different. My trim is no longer tight and I'm told thats not a big deal. It just feels like I'm not getting what I started with and that my concerns fall on deaf ears. I was told I'd get a call when the new parts are ordered and to schedule the new appointment, that was 10 days ago... I've given them my patience, but now I feel like I have to report publicly. read more

The Good: Upon calling the main Safelite number the customer service agent was very helpful and friendly. She set me up with an appointment the very next morning. When I arrived at the Safelite location the lobby was clean and open even 10 minutes before their doors said they would, which I love because time is important. There were beverages available for guests and the receptionist/front desk employee was courteous. The Bad: I was scheduled for a repair, and no one informed me that the repair would leave the look of the crack in the windshield. I had two small cracks from loose gravel the previous day and one of them is straight in my line of vision while driving. I didn't know that it would still be there in appearance, and had I, may have made a decision to repair the windshield. Although I am happy it is warrantied to not spread I still have a crack within my direct line of sight. Secondly, while I was waiting in the lobby a male employee, perhaps a technician, was talking loudly and exclaimed profanity (F word). I was the only one in the lobby, and the receptionist looked at me as if to say "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry". At no point did the technician apologize for his language. Instead, later when he walked out, the front desk staff apologized for him. This bothered me for a few reasons. First, the female front desk person did not feel comfortable enough in her role at the company to be able to address it directly with the offending staff member, nor was there an apparent managerial protocol she followed to make this person responsible for his actions. Who knows, perhaps that was her manager. During the time I was in the waiting room he never apologized to her either, which leads me to believe that it is a regular occurrence and likely behavior she is used to. Lastly, her feeling that she needed to apologize for him (rather than he coming to apologize himself) and his actions is absolutely ridiculous. Swearing may not be too big of a deal for me personally but had I been in the waiting room with children, had someone that is uncomfortable with that language been in the room, its inappropriateness would have been even more glaring. It's not a way to talk, yet alone exclaim, in a place of business. read more

I haven't specifically used safelite for glass.. But when a disabled woman's back glass was broken out by CDOT and they refused to pay for it.. The community banded together to buy new back glass for her Blazer. All of this was unnecessary though, because safelite stepped in and did the whole job Pro Bono. read more

Hello yelpers, I called safelite to see how long the process was for a 2011 chevy avalanche, i talked to a man named bill, very friendly and very knowledgeable. He told me that I can schedule a repair through Geico mobile app, said it was much easier. It was. I had a promise time between 8-12 pm on March 1st. My technician was here at 8:25 but would have been here at 8:15 if the navigation app wouldn't of been incorrect. That's okay, it's something he couldn't control which is understandable. he called me and made sure he got the address right. I explained to him that it was just up the street and he understood and he showed up a few minute after that and he just said to unlock the truck and I did and he was done in about 60 to 90 minutes.
