I'm sitting here now. The manager is on the phone with other managers, on speaker and there is a bunch of cursing and a lot of typical middle management type complaining and whining. As a small business owner I'm embarrassed for the company that this is how they have their work meetings. If my employees aired my business issues in front of my customers they would be immediately fired. Also, my 9 year old daughter shouldn't have had to sit here and listen to the cursing or the complaining. I have been sitting here over 2 hours and 30 minutes and no end in sight. Pretty embarrassing Another employee just hung up the phone with a customer who they were aggressively speaking down to. Could never get ahold of a live person through customer service. Called customer service and recording stated everything is completed online, even after going through every option. Needed assistance and Chat was the only available option. Waited too long for someone to chat with and they tell me to call customer service. Next day went to the shop and no one could answer questions. They took my name and number and said that a district manager would be reaching out. No call ever came. My windshield was special ordered 10 days ahead and I spoke with Safelite several times because they kept trying to switch my appt to the day before. Less than 24 hours before my appt they canceled my appt saying the windshield is on back order and they don't have a new date. They don't find out that a windshield is on back order the day before installation, I guess they just kept hoping it would arrive and they wouldn't lose this business but this has left me in a bad situation. Now I'm set back additional weeks and have to find a more reliable, honest company. I would do everything possible to avoid Safelite, but especially the one on DuPont Hwy in Dover, DE because they are unprofessional. read more

Do better Safelite! You really need to put disclaimers on your website... nowhere on the site to book an appointment does it say you MUST put a VIN number in, it gives you the option to either put in the VIN number or the make and model of your vehicle which I did put make and model and style of car...the wrong windshield was brought to my house on my first appointment. My second appointment was made by the technician on my front porch to the shop that I needed to go to. He did not mention anything about the VIN number nor did he give the VIN to the gentleman that he scheduled my appointment with nor was it mentioned anywhere by any of the four Safelite people I spoke to that there's a $500 charge for a calibration fee. This I was told is in my email but no one said it once to me on the phone. It's not in the reminder text nor did the woman who calls you personally and remind you of your appointment that there is an additional charge. I walked in thinking I was paying $372. When I was told it was $934 I about lost my marbles and again this was not disclosed to me by anyone. You need to put it in your reminder text and your reminder call what the total for that visit will be!! Just want to make others aware, this can't be the first time of this happening. Scheduled an appointment online for an inperson appointment. I responded to numerous text and phone prompts to confirm the appointment. When the technician did not arrive, I called customer service who said that the appointment had been canceled by the shop and the manager had tried to reach out by phone over the weekend. When I was transferred to the manager, he said that they did not have capacity to meet what Safelite had assigned to them and that they could not reschedule for another week. Too bad it wont let me give 0 stars. Absolutely horrible, no accountability taken whatsoever. Had my windshield replaced back in May, and my cars sensors (related to my windshield) began popping up. I have a practically brand new car - 2023 rav4- less than 15k miles and my cruise control won't work, my car detector (where it will brake for you if you're too close to someone) no longer works, and my auto head lights don't automatically come on anymore. This is due to my windshield being replaced and recalibrated incorrectly. I went back last week and was told it was re-recalibrated successfully just for the same alerts to pop up on my dashboard not even 24 hours later. All for them to say since I have a warranty, I HAVE to go back to them because "it shows it was successful on our end". Why on earth would I go back to an establishment that has not only failed me once, but now Twice?? Again, on a practically BRAND NEW vehicle. If I want to go elsewhere I have to pay $500 again because Safelite will not authorize me to go elsewhere to have it fixed for the 3rd time. Forcing me to use their business when they obviously do not know what they are doing. Worst experience I've ever had and I can promise you, FOR SURE, that I will never be back or give this location any business ever again. read more

First replacement the technician didn't seal the bottom of the windshield at all. Rain came in. Second tech found the first tech broke the window trim. Took months to get and I had to stop in to actually find out what the heck was going on. Part was in the shop for weeks, they didn't even bother to call me. Terrible experience! read more

I've spent the last THREE weeks attempting to actually talk o a "human" from the Dover Safelite to get a cracked windshield replaced. All you ever get is electronic voices telling to "use your smartphone for service". Unbelievable. Never did figure out why THEY don't know how to use "their smartphones" to actually communicate with the customer. The 5th phone call and numerous attempts through the myriad "phone tree," I actually got to speak with a human representative from lord knows where. They state the original windshield was ordered incorrectly, and not an OEM replacement. The next message was via "the Dover office" that one they had was cracked. THEN a new appointment was selected...electronically WITHOUT my input and scheduled when I'm at work. I then began the process with 3 more calls to correct that error again, trying to speak with someone with a pulse. Finally set up an actual appointment, this time at my residence on the farm. They dispatched a truly lazy "technician" who arrived at my house 3:55 hours into the 4 hour window. I casually stated "everybody in society (especially his age group) has and lives on a cell phone; can you at least call and give the customer an actual time frame for service once you start the days work?" (We live about an hour from their facility). I offended the poor little guy I guess. He stated "I'm just a tech, you were given a 4 hour window what's the problem?" His attitude was as if it was of zero concern for me or any customer; then stated, "I don't have to take that attitude from you man" and left. WAY too funny and indicative reflecting his true work ethic and Safelite as an organization in one fell swoop! You just can't get good help or service from Safelite. I called Caliber Collision Windshield division; spoke to an actual human; service was set up immediately with the RIGHT windshield! Absolutely Amazing! An actual representative handled the whole transaction, including a three-way call with USAA, my insurance provider. What a disturbing disaster setup Safelite has become. Highway driving and a rock cracked my front windshield. Made an appointment on line for the same day. It was really a hot August day so the crack spread by the time of my appointment. The manager was so nice when telling me that I needed to replace my windshield. Manager made home appointment for the next day. The technician arrived promptly and the job was done quickly. It's a month later an no issues. The manager applied my coupons along with another coupon. I got a great deal. Great experience but I hope I don't need to use them again. read more

Third time is the charm I hope, Safelite has changed the same window regulator 3 times and charged me the full price every time. I am over $1000 into this window, I hope it works this time. This technician was great, he cleaned the greasy fingerprints the last guy left on the window when he fixed it a few months earlier. I wish I asked for the part they replaced, because I would have 3 in my collection already. But it appears I paid for the regulators, but they never changed them, just put the window back on the track and hoped ut wouldn't fall out again. It's hard to put into words my level of satisfaction, words just don't do it justice. Justice, that's what I need, but I got blank looks and excuses. I waited 3 weeks to get those excuses, so I do value them. They canceled my appointment the morning of twice, once because the part they didn't need wasn't ordered and once because the technician didn't show up. My son "accidentally" busted the rear windshield of my Explorer on Thursday evening. I immediately went to Safelites website (those tv jingles really do work...it immediately popped in my head) and I had an appointment set up for this morning in a matter of minutes! Went here today to have a chip repaired, great professional service. In and out in 45 minutes, had some paint stick marks on windshield from when I bought the truck and they even cleaned that off. My windsheild was damage, I set up a appt and the tech came to my phone but he had the wrong windsheild and instead of getting the right one and replacing it he tell me I would have to wait the next day to have it replaced and the next day come and the tech tells me he can't do it because it's raining. The inside of my car was wet from the rain. If they would've brung the right windsheild the 1st time it would never rain in my car to begin with! read more

A baseball hit our windshield hard enough to leave glass on the dashboard. I had Safelite come to replace the windshield. Not only did it cost half of what I expected, but the dash of my car is even cleaner than it was when I bought the car. The gentleman even vacuumed the little stuffed animal that I keep in the corner. He replaced the strips to attach my EZPass and even moved the oil change sticker. My windshield was replaced and everything went well. However, I got the windshield wipers replaced as well. The next day I went to drive to work in the rain and the wipers wouldn't work and I had to drive to another site to get them fixed. I missed my work and the customer service call center was so unhelpful. Don't bother getting the wipers done through safelight. read more

This letter is sent to let you know of my dissatisfaction with the repair technician who was sent to my home on August 19th. From my perspective, she did not well-represent Safelite Autoglass, being somewhat rude and quite unprofessional. Upon arrival, the technician explained the repair process and waiver, which I understood and signed. Unfortunately, in the process of repairing a broken windshield, further damage occurred requiring a replacement. The technician told me that she would have to call for a price on the replacement. When she spoke to me again, she asked if I would like to schedule a time for the replacement. (She was speaking to me while, at the same time, a scheduler on her cell phone.) I said that I was surprised that this would require another visit, that I had assumed either a repair or replacement would be completed on this visit. She explained that she was only a repair technician and that someone else would have to come and do the replacement. I said, "OK, I understand that; but why wouldn't Safelite wouldn't be prepared to do either or both... considering the fact that Safelite already knew the make and model of my car." Immediately, the technician turned from me, leaving me on my front porch, saying "If you want to reschedule, call 800-800-ASAP." I said "What?" She replied, "You can call them yourself; 800-800-ASAP.' I was dumbfounded, as she drove her van away. I retrieved her cell phone number and called the technician and asked, "What just happened?" She told me that I could call to schedule another appointment. I said, "I thought that you were working that out on your cell phone." She said that I had "belittled" her, embarrassing her in front of a colleague (the scheduler). I disagreed but, nevertheless, apologized several times, as she continued to instruct me to make my own arrangements to reschedule. I tried to explain that I was not belittling or challenging her competence; I was only saying that, as a customer, I was surprised that Safelite wouldn't also send out a replacement windshield at the time of the original scheduled appointment. She continued to tell me to call 800-800-ASAP. I finally hung up. Needless to say, I was not impressed by the manner in which this matter was handled. I would certainly not recommend Safelite to others. At this point, I have contacted my insurance company and I have chosen to use another company to replace my windshield. read more

I was really happy to use safelite at first because it was so convenient having someone come to my house to do it. I had a crack in the windshield and got it replaced the first time, everything looked great until the next day there was a lot of rain and it left a huge pool of water on the floor of the passengers side. I called them back to tell them about the issue and they were very nice and rescheduled with me. The second time I was surprised they sent the same tech out and he did not redo the windshield, he wasn't there very long. AGAIN, another pool of water on the passenger side floor. I have had ZERO issues with leaks before this so it has to be the windshield. A third time I called and the lady was very rude and unfriendly to me and said something along the lines of "Well if it's still leaking it could be a mechanical issue". I rescheduled again to have someone come take a look at it and requested that they not send the same technician and send someone more experienced. I will see how this next visit goes, hopefully they will actually fix it this time. At this point I am going to start getting mold on the carpet and it could rust the engine if not fixed properly. Very poor customer service. I may change my review if my windshield is properly fixed in the future, but as of right now I have a bad taste in my mouth with this company read more
