This company will transfer you between service lines 15 times before you get a real answer. They are non-communicative about pickup times and were days later than my estimated pickup window. After 5+ later, I finally got someone on the phone and they told me I had to leave my car unattended and unlocked with the keys in it to be picked up the following day. Zero communication. Warning! Safe Ship is a scam. They are just brokers who take your booking order and then pass it on to moving companies that they select that are at best not professional -- at worst shady. The heartwarming story about this being a veteran, family owned company are the last good words you'll hear. They delivered on absolutely NOTHING they promised in booking our contract. Our belongings were supposed to be crated individually and NOT removed from the moving truck as it made its way cross country. This was a deal breaker and we paid extra. This did not happen and as a consequence we had a huge amount of breakage and 3-5 lost boxes including office computers. Part of our deal was extra packing for an antique desk. The movers had no idea. They did not do the extra wrapping and a leg was broken off. All Safe Ship does is book the moving contract promising ANYTHING and then they disappear and have NO liability for loss or breakage. It then goes to a moving company you never talked to before. We are a military family, and tried using safe ship moving services to get items from our storage unit to our home during our current PCS. From an apparently veteran owned company, you would think the awareness of us letting them know we are moving during a government shutdown would be present and understand the stress of the shut down as well as trying to find help. We called on a Monday to schedule a pickup for the following Wednesday, then cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday. they told us they would guarantee our items would be picked up Thursday once the documents they sent via email were signed by us. They called us at 3pm and sent an email saying our move was cancelled. we called MULTIPLE times asking when our estimated time frame was for our items to be picked up and they would transfer us until someone said "we will call back and let you know" and we never received an answer. For the price they were wanting to charge, the customer service and constant cancelling and rescheduling last minute was extremely unprofessional. We will never recommend safeship to anyone we know. read more

Every time I spoke with safe ship I was asked if a 26ft moving truck could fit on the street and in the driveway of the house I was moving from and the house I was moving to. Not once did anyone ever ask me if an 18 wheeler could get down the street, or to the house on either end. I was also told in every conversation that the delivery time was 5-14 days from the day of pickup, I was never told anything about a 30 day delivery window per DOT. The first time I was told there was a 30 day window was when I called safe ship after 15 days on Oct 9th and my stuff had not been delivered. At that time I was informed that it was 14 business days from my first available delivery date (Sept 29th) and not 14 days from my pickup date. So I called again on Oct 15th and was then told that my stuff hadn't even left CO due to a pickup fee not being paid, and that they actually had 30 days per DOT regulations (first time anyone had ever told me this after multiple conversations with safe ship) to deliver. Also no one ever contacted me or told me about any pickup fee that I hadn't paid. 3 guys in an enterprise rental truck showed up at my house to load the small amount of things I had to be moved when they were done they asked me to sign a piece of paper and told me that I did not owe anything else my deposit covered it all. The next person I heard from was someone from Southwest van lines telling me that I owed $6000 on Oct 16th. I immediately called Safe ship back to find out what was going on and why I was being told I owed the whole amount of the original move cost even though I had paid an almost $3000 deposit, and taken 90%+ of the stuff off the list from that estimate. They also told me that anything removed would be taken care of at pickup which is again why I thought my deposit covered everything. On Oct 17th I received a call from Sky with safe ship who gave me what she said was her direct line (561-717-7785) and that I could call her anytime to ask questions or to discuss issues (first time I tried to call I found out it was not her direct number). She also told me that she would look into me being charged for 918 cu ft when I had way less than that, and that she would get a copy of the bill of lading from southwest van lines since I didn't get a copy (I never got that from her, and didn't get a copy until today when my stuff was delivered). I was also told multiple times that for delivery I could use Zelle, Venmo, cashapp, or paypal, only to find out the day of delivery that I had to have cash or a postal money order, and that they were holding my stuff until I paid in full and amount that was never discussed with me. I was sent a text yesterday that my delivery would be Oct 22nd 4-7 pm so I took off work early to get home for delivery. At 5:56pm I got another text saying delivery would be 7:30-8:30pm, around 20 minutes after I get a phone call telling me my delivery will be 8-11am on Oct 23rd this morning. So I took more time off work to for my delivery. At 10:02 on Oct 23rd I get a text from the driver showing me a sign restricting 18 wheeler from coming into this neighborhood and asked me to meet him at 3820 Ross Clark Circle in Dothan Al. I go to meet him to be told that now I will be charged another $1 per cu ft for a delivery service to get my stuff to my house. I want to state here again that I was never asked if an 18 wheeler could get to this house all I was ever asked was if a 26ft moving truck could get up/down this street and into my driveway. At this point I am told I must pay them $2767 in fees to get my stuff delivered. They are still charging me for 918 cu ft of stuff when there was at the very most 600 cu ft ( I doubt there was even that much), even the delivery driver said 500 maybe 600 cu ft off stuff. I have video of how empty the 26ft moving truck was when they finally delivered my stuff. The delivery company was southwest van lines, and to pay them was like a drug deal. They wanted either cash or a postal money order with no names on it. read more

They took full advantage of the fact that I was looking to get a move done cheaply and quickly. They are unforgiving and will hide behind a garbage reimbursement policy unless you elect full valuation coverage and painstakingly elect all items that should be replaced. Why should I even pay a company that doesn't make my move more convenient than driving cross country myself? Several of my items are just straight up missing, others damaged. I just went here and as I was closing up my shipping box I was told to step away from the table. There are no signs and it is the only table to set your box on. The old ladies that work here seemed to think I was behind the table when in actuality I was on the side. I was only at the side because they have a chair and other junk in front of it. Since this was my third or fourth time dealing with poor customer service at this establishment, I decided to voice my frustration stating "it's always something with this place". Then, their bouncer, some sort of denim-clad Elvira-looking octogenarian decided to inform me that she finds the customer service excellent and comes there twice a day. ... I am ONLY leaving 1 star because I have to, to leave a review. So, this was my experience this morning at this Safe Ship store at 124 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Fl. 32174. The first and LAST time I will ever go there. I went there this morning to get my fingerprints taken for employment requirements and the manager was shockingly rude. She said her name was Phyllis but I thought I heard someone call her Lisa. (Could be my bad, not sure). Anyways, she was blatantly rude and condescending, and when I told her she was being rude to me, and that I would like to work with someone else, she told me that I had an attitude. Here's what happened. When I walked in, she did ask how she could help me but then when I told her I was there to get my fingerprints taken it went down hill from there and fast. She became short and snapped at me to give her two ID's and got impatient with me as I was looking for the barcode on my phone. She impatiently went over to the fingerprint machine and kept repeating herself that "you already found the barcode. And I said I need two forms of ID." She said it in a way that was very short and rude and when I told her I would like someone else to help me that's when she said I had an attitude! I then asked her if I could speak to the manager and she said, "That's me." Then, as if to mock or bully me, there was what I am assuming to be a regular customer in there that said, "Oh, (Lisa? Phyllis?) you are so wonderful!" She said this to the manager who told me her name was Phyllis. I then asked her if, since she was the manager, she thought it was okay to treat her customers this way. She didn't answer but to make it even better, when I was leaving I asked for her business card and her name. She told me her name was Phyllis and sarcastically asked me if she should spell it for me! This woman has no idea who I am or who I work for. Not that that should matter in getting any special treatment. However, just to be flat out rude and nasty to a customer who walks in is, and was, totally inappropriate and, if I may say so, down right dumb. Safe Ship did a phone estimate of my inventory. Movers (not actual safe ship workers, but a company contracted by safe shop to do the job) showed up on moving day and tried to tell me that my cubic footage was double then what was given over the phone. I expected a small change as I am aware that uneven items and things like moving blankets take up space. But not double. Additionally, I removed 2 large items from the move that were on the initial estimate. The mover tried to say my stuff was 1300 cubic feet. And the original estimate was 600. I ended up telling the movers to leave and I went with another company. Actual cubic footage with the new company was 700 cubic feet. So safe ship essentially price matched to win the business, took a "non refundable" deposit from me, and then contracted a company who tried to double the square footage to make their money back. Used the fingerprinting services and was very disappointed by the customer service. I work for the state, so I've had my fingerprints taken often for many years. It's a 5 minute appointment, max. I made the appointment online and showed up 10 minutes early with my two young children. The woman at the counter was clearly annoyed and told me she didn't think it was going to work while I held my 1 year old and my 4 year old sat in the waiting chair. I told her I was sorry but I had no other option and that they would be ok. She groaned and told me "you're the one who made the appointment". She continued with the snippy, rude comments throughout the entire process - during which she only needed one hand at all times as I had expected, and my baby sat patiently in my other arm. I would not suggest using this store if you have the choice. The one star is because (I'm assuming) she got my fingerprints into the system at least. Not safe to ship at Safe Ship in my personal opinion and experience dealing with this company. Reason being... I contact the company where I dropped off my package to be returned to seller because my tracking number was not showing it is on its way; instead, only label created. This is three days with no progress so I believed I had a right to know where the package is through tracking since I am asking for a refund. However, the man on the phone said I did not because I did not create the label, even though my name is on the package and I have a tracking number, and a receipt of drop off. He stated: "they were only a drop off center and I needed to call 1-800- pick UPS because is unable to help me. I have never has an issue with a place when given a tracking number, but now I know not to go to this drop off location because they will not help you, nor let you know if your package is even moving to the destination its address to go. So please beware if you are planning on sending a return through Safe Ship because how safe is it if they refuse to give you an update on tracking progress? That's all I have to say! Now its time to start making calls elsewhere to see if someone is willing to update me on the movement of my package. read more

The folks at Safe Ship are delightful on so many fronts. Always an immediate greeting upon entering, with smiles, which is always nice. The staff is knowledgeable, courteous and friendly and I have found that each customer receives undivided attention, no matter how busy they might be. I am particularly impressed and grateful for them taking on the financial loss of accepting UPS Drop-Offs at only $1.00 per package. As they are not UPS certified shippers, the business must pay a monthly fee for the privilege of providing this service - a fee that I am sure is much higher than the number of $1 drop-offs they handle. This is a service being offered just to be customer service oriented as there is no way that Safe Ship is even breaking even for it. So glad they are nearby! read more

I was in the Nova Rd, Ormond Beach store last Friday and Phyllis, the rude manager, waited on me. When I questioned how much she was charging me she started to pull the postage off the envelope and told me to go to the post office because they would treat me rudely and I would have to wait longer to be waited on. I replied "who the hell do you think you are talking to like that" which at that point she calmed down and finished waiting on me. If I could, I'd give this place a 0 rating. I went in for an appointment to get fingerprinted. Was then told they could not do it, due to name on application differed. Charge would not be refundable. Unless main office was immediately called. Rather then helping me rectify situation (by their making the call then and there), the employee jotted down a number on a paper which she then handed to me and told me to go out to my car and call from there immediately. Well I made several calls to the number, leaving several messages to call me back. I never got through to anyone, never heard a response. My account has since been debited. They are faster than the USPS, ill give them that, but don't send anything with delivery confirmation. They don't give you the confirmation number right away, and they ask you instead to leave your email with them and they will email you the number. Well, three times in a matter of 4 days, they emailed me with NO confirmation number. I sell on eBay, so having this number is important (not to mention you pay extra for it). They were able to look it up and give it to me the following day, but I wasted several trips to the store in order to get it. Unprofessional if you ask me, next time I'll just wait in line at the actual post office!! read more

The day after my daughter's wedding I visited the Port Orange Safe Ship on Nova Road to ship out her bouquet to have pieces of it preserved by a business in Texas. I followed the business' recommendation of taping cold packs to the bouquet, wrapping damp paper towels around the bottom of the stems and then wrapping the top of the flowers loosely with newspaper before I sent it out overnight. I have used this company is Port Orange to ship paintings that customers of mine have purchased, so that is why I returned. There were two women working and after a short wait, Phyllis waited on me. I explained my daughter had just gotten married yesterday and my need to overnight her bouquet. She congratulated me and then asked if I was packing the bouquet or she was. I thought it odd since I had already explained. She told me it would cost a small fortune, but after didn't elaborate when I asked what that was. She started a box and was wrapping it in plastic and I explained that the business told me specifically no plastic. Her rude response was, "Are you going to let me do my job or not." I was feeling insulted by then and said that I was just asking questions and thought if we couldn't work as a team, I would go somewhere else and she didn't respond. I wanted to get this out for my daughter however and continued. I read her the written instructions I was given and explained that it was probably due to the flowers mildewing. She insisted on the plastic and I offered just lining the box underneath. She continued with plastic wrap and told me to get the large bag of peanuts. Still no mention of cost. She laid the wrapped bouquet in the box and I asked if she should place peanuts under. Instead she had me try to hold the bouquet package up and tuck the peanuts under. She cut the box down a little and laid more peanuts and more plastic on top. Then taped it up. I asked about the top and she did write top on the top of all sides. After it was all taped she told me it would be $395 to ship it! I explained that that was not what my daughter could pay and it was way too much to overnight. She said it was like riding coach compared to first class on an airplane. I texted my daughter and Phyllis started offering different plans which I texted my daughter. They are: 2 days $231, Post office $203 and then a three day that she said if I packed addition ice packs around would be less. I told her I would have to freeze them and she said she had them. I don't remember the last price. By then, I had had enough and paid for the box and peanuts and told her I would check back. I took the package down the road and the post office shipped it overnight for for $76.50, including $100 insurance, signed for and tracked. It arrived by 1:00 the next day. So your company would ship the same package for $395 that the post office shipped for 76.50 plus $12. I went back to tell Phyllis how disgusted I was and the other employee explained she was at lunch. She said the prices were set by the company. The rudeness must have been free. It is hard to believe that there could be such a markup. I am not one to complain, but this was so ridiculous that I could not share this review. I would accept an explanation if there is one, but I won't be shipping with you again. The flowers arrived beautifully, and I know this will just be an unfortunate event. They also get you in and out in a timely fashion. I became unemployed as a result of Covid 19 and this establishment has helped me tremendously. It was nice to be able to make copies, scan documents, and mail paperwork all from one location. I am a single mother so any way I can save time or make fewer stops is always a plus. They were always helpful in finding the best rate between USPS, FED EX, or UPS for mailing packages going to family members and were able to help with boxes for the odd-sized items I needed help with. Also recently I needed something notarized and they were able to provide that service for me as well. I often have to go to this safe ship to send out important documents for our business. I always have great service however today stood out for me. The man who helped me is named Dana, very sweet, professional and actually took the time to hear our story on the documents we were sending. Our bank loan for a Brand New Limo ( first one in our 9 years in business ) :). I was so excited and had to send the documents out for next day service. He found a way to save us a few $$. One of the rudest employees I have ever encountered. He told the woman ahead of me whose package had been missing for months that it might have been denied at customs in England and she would have to wait until it showed up back in the states. The next customer wanted to buy a roll of stamps, he said he had been out for a week, had no idea when he eould have them. He rudely refused to fingerprint me because of a one letter discrepancy on my ID, although I had never had a problem with it in the past 20 years when I had it done for teaching. This is an update to my previous review. Safe Ship's owner, Richard Marsh, added money to ShipSurance's paltry offer and bought me a new Lladro to replace the one that broke in transit to me. The new one arrived yesterday in perfect shape. It's unfortunate that it took 7 months to resolve what should have been an easy insurance claim, but I believe the fault lies mostly with the unbelievably nasty folks at ShipSurance whose sole objective, it would appear, is to deny any and all claims and accuse the claimant of fraud. read more

I've shipped from this place several times. MOST times they are not friendly and have attitude. I shipped again today because of convenience. I wish I hadn't.
