Not one employee greeted me, smiled, acknowledged my presence, or asked if I needed assistance. I was completely ignored until I went out of my way to ask for help. The sales associates appeared far more interested in socializing with each other than doing the jobs they were hired to do. I listened to constant fake, over-the-top compliments like, "Oh my God, I love your shoes!" while actual customers wandered the store without so much as a hello. It came across as performative, shallow, and completely insincere. To make matters worse, the music was blaring so loudly that it felt like walking into a nightclub rather than a premium athletic apparel store. It was obnoxious, distracting, and made the shopping experience miserable. ALO wants to project an image of luxury and exclusivity, but this location delivers the exact opposite. Luxury isn't overpriced leggings, influencer aesthetics, or employees trying to look cool--it's making customers feel welcome, valued, and appreciated. This store failed at every level. I left without buying anything because the atmosphere was so unpleasant. If this is the standard ALO expects from its retail staff, the company has completely lost sight of what customer service is supposed to be. I'll gladly spend my money with brands that understand customers are the reason they're in business.

I've…read moredone hot yoga before but in a more meditative way than a workout so I was a little nervous/ hesitant but figured I'd give it a go and I'm so glad I did! There are lots of locations but this one seemed the nicest and it's my friends' favorite. There is underground parking onsite which is free when validated which they do here. The space is SUPER clean and all the staff was really welcoming and friendly. They gave me a little tour and showed me the ways around and what was offered which was so appreciated. The women's locker area and bathroom was super nice and spacious as were the showers. I brought my own mat but they do provide mats and towels for a small fee. We chose the 4:30 Power class which was intermediate. We ended up with a substitute teacher Raea and she was great! I will say, it was a bit warmer than I've experienced in a hot yoga class before which was a little overwhelming at first but I started to adjust within 10 minutes. Anytime I needed to break I was able to comfortably and without judgement. The whole space is really judgement free and feels like a safe space type community which I loved. Our class was an hour and as expected I was soaked afterwards but ended up feeling rejuvenated. They offer complementary cold eucalyptus towels and there's water and an area to cool down after which we took advantage of. Not to mention they have really cute merch to buy! All in all, I would definitely come back and am excited to have joined this community! If you're considering starting hot yoga or looking for a new place, start here, you won't regret it!

If I knew this I would have cancelled, since I do hot yoga instead of normal yoga cause I like the heated aspect?! This was a yin class and they kept saying Yin is traditionally done unheated as like some sort of consolation response,, okay true but again I signed up for HOT yoga. Again, just asking for some communication so guests can decide if they want to do the class or not. Also the instructor was Texting on her phone 80% of the class!! I was actually so shocked. Like I know since this was a yin class it was of course very slow and holding poses for a long period of time, but idk maybe I thought she would walk around, correct form? But no she was texting for most of the class.

I've always appreciated yoga but never committed to a long term regular practice. After finding Shiva Yoga, I want to go all in. It's the best yoga studio I've experienced. I first came to Shiva this summer after my back went out & the experience has helped me regain my strength & flexibility. The instructors are knowledgeable & encouraging. Shiva also offers community events, massages, a dry sauna & opportunities to connect & recharge. I attended a sound bath last night, and it was excellent! I really appreciate the sense of community Garth & his team have created. After more than 25 years of occasionally dipping my toes into yoga, I feel like I've finally found a studio that makes me want to show up regularly, deepen my practice & make yoga part of my everyday life. I'm grateful to have found Shiva and couldn't recommend it more highly.

This training was incredibly transformative, and a huge part of that was Lou and the experience of working in his beautiful studio, Astro Gong. From the moment we stepped into the space, you could feel the intention behind it. The studio itself is stunning -- grounding, expansive, and filled with an energy that immediately invites presence and depth. Being surrounded by his collection of gongs and instruments created an atmosphere that felt both sacred and inspiring. Lou is a true gong master. His knowledge, passion, and reverence for the instrument are undeniable. Watching him play and learning directly from him ignited something powerful within me -- a deep desire to connect more fully with the gong and explore its potential. He teaches not just technique, but relationship -- how to listen, feel, and allow the instrument to speak. The experience inside his studio alone was worth it. It felt immersive, intentional, and deeply moving. I left feeling inspired, expanded, and profoundly grateful.

Not only does Barry offer great guidance and insights, he also seems to be keenly a tuned to the energy of the room and so every sound bath is different. Sometimes I leave right after but other times I'll stay for about 10 minutes, which has been extremely valuable. Some sound baths expect you to leave right after, which is ok too, but having the option is really a nice opportunity, especially if you are a first timer. If you are new to sound bath, it's an extremely healing and meditative experience. My simple explanation is, it uses the sound of instruments to heal the body. In ancient African culture they used drumming and other instruments to help heal. I feel that's the principle of sound bath.

I hope in sharing it'll help other people avoid what I experienced. With the exception of Jason, the trainers I worked with here are excellent overall. Devin has so much light in him, and his energy really holds up the corners of this place. I hope he finds a working situation that better supports and nurtures all he has to offer. Iman was great as well, but because this place is patriarchal and has deference to masculine baked in, there were instances in which I saw her feel the need to defer to Jason, which was symptomatic of outdated leadership approaches and an unhealthy work environment. The effects of that misogyny showed through other women there as well, particularly younger women who were in admin or nutrition (and in male-presenting clients with more fem energy). Didn't see it in the seasoned fem trainers. Russell is fun and knowledgable, but I overheard him shit-talking clients on more than one occasion. Matt is further down meathead spectrum, so there was more obliviousness/negligence showing through, but knowledgable about his work. But Jason was negligent outright . His behavior resulted in injury I'm still dealing with ~7 months later, and he wasn't mature or professional enough to simply take responsibility for what he'd done. I went here because I saw the Vanity Fair video that talked about how they help people clean up injuries. I have a back injury from like ~10 years ago that I really wanted to correct, and a more recent shoulder injury, and was very relieved to learn Rise could help. In maybe 3 months of 3ish sessions per week, my back injury seemed to be healed! I was ecstatic. ...but then I ended up with Jason as my trainer 3 times in one week. He was consistently late, eating/doing other stuff that made him distracted, had a kinda negligent vibe. Probably not the way he behaves when working with Jennifer Aniston or whoever, and not behavior I imagine he'd tolerate in a trainer he hired. That Monday, he pushed too hard with his hands when he had me doing a side plank, and it messed up my back again. Wednesday, when I had him as a trainer again, I told him about this. Friday he had "forgotten," so I had to tell him again. But the damage was done. My back was fucked up. Everybody messes up. It's not great when your preventable mistake comes from not being attentive/good at your job. It's worse when that mistake physically injures a human being...especially when those effects are long-lasting. If Jason could've acknowledged what happened and apologized for it, okay. But he kept "forgetting" about it. Then he tried to tell me that I wouldn't get better if I wasn't doing the exercises I did there every day at home....though 3 days a week at their location had gotten my back healthy before, and I had explicitly asked multiple trainers if 3 days a week of training there was a good amount. All said yes. Jason was trying to cover his ass and sidestep responsibility. He later tried to refer me to a back expert or something, acting like the cause of the re-injury was a mystery. So yeah, don't go to Jason. There's narcissism in him, and he may cause you months-long physical pain because he isn't paying attention, and then play it like he has no idea what he did even as you repeatedly speak up about the damage he caused.
