View of Loch Lomond Marina from the street side promenade.

We found Safe Harbor Loch Lomond to be an excellent moorage for our 10-day visit to San Rafael aboard our 26' sailboat. We towed our boat from the Pacific Northwest to San Rafael in May 2025 in order to extend our sailing season. We were delighted with our experience and would definitely stay there again. Loch Lomond Marina's staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. Their docks appear new and my wife and I were given a card-key for entry and exit from their well lit, upscale dock. The area is contiguous to a newer local neighborhood and Andy's Local Market--a dockside Whole Foods-like store but also with bar and kitchen. (They had the best fish & chips dish I've ever had.) Abundant Adirondack chairs outside, fire pits and overhead string lights complete its festive atmosphere for gathering. We found ourselves drawn to Andy's--just steps from our boat slip--for those nights we weren't eating out. Be aware at low tides entering/exiting the marina. We briefly ran aground once despite having a shallow drafted vessel; larger or deeper draft vessels may find departure/arrival times sometimes limiting. The launch ramp was more than adequate but necessitated some sharp trailer turns for us. Note also there is no fuel dock nor laundry facilities on site. We bought gasoline elsewhere and found a laundromat in San Rafael for the one time we did laundry. The sparsely used restrooms were clean with two private showers at no additional charge. Slip side 30-amp electricity and a fresh water bib was included in the daily rate. Slips are conveniently double fingered. Reservations are taken only via the DockSpot app, which we found easy to use. Overall, ours was a wonderful experience at a gorgeous marina that we won't soon forget.

Great views of the sunset especially when cloudy. Peaceful walk and kind people around.

Pat and Christine the office managers are very friendly and helpful. We love the loch lomond harbor, the surrounding infrastructure is brand new, you have Andys Organic Market there (coffee specialities, organic groceries, pretty much comparable to Nugget store), access to live bait, spacious launch ramp, gated & protected boat slips with storage bins and water/electricity hookup. Also they offer to launch boats for daily $20 or a yearly pass $500. We rent a boat slip at Loch Lomond and can only highly recommended it! All in all a great experience.

This is the best place for a view before to start a work day or any day

Great marina, nice relaxing place and wonderful view of Mountain Tamalpais, Point Richmond and San Pablo Bay.

The boat arrived right on schedule, in perfect shape, and possibly cleaner than we left it. Communication was fantastic throughout. Arnstein also left us with detailed pictures of small issues with helpful and specific suggestions on how to improve the boat. Thank you Arnstein and crew!

He is very friendly in nature and his conduct was very professional throughout. I was very impressed with his depth of knowledge and seamanship throughout the entire voyage.   Having gone from a 23ft Compac to a 40ft Caliber was a big jump for us and Arstein was very patient as he taught us the ins and outs, from bow to stern, of our new sailboat. During the trip he taught me about different aspects of the boat including the engine and preventive maintenance.  He even stayed an additional 3 days to give us private instruction on docking and close-quarter maneuvering.   Lastly, the final report he sent us was incredibly thorough, providing us with detailed information about the sailboat and motor including findings and recommendations. The photos of the trip that he added were a great touch. I would highly recommend Mustad Marine for any boat delivery.

Wow... This is the first time I've ever had such a bad experience I've been inspired to write a bad…read morereview. The staff here are incredibly unpleasant and they have policies that are nearly impossible to comply with. I bought a boat in this marina and before they would give me access they require I show them proof of ownership. I've never heard of this requirement before and I should have known what was coming. If you make an appointment with the DMV so you don't have to lose a work day it takes a month to get your new registration. Here is the rub, you only have 30 days from the day your boat is sold to vacate the marina. So you buy the boat, you are not allowed access to it for nearly a month and then you have to immediately leave. This really killed me because I bought an old boat that had been sitting for a long time. So somehow I was supposed to make is seaworthy to leave without access to it. I was going to try to keep it in the marina a couple months to get it in good shape but they told me the wait list was full. Every time I tried to talk to them about the situation they kept telling me "I've made the policy clear!" and "I hate when people ask me to break policy!" The marina was mediocre to begin with but the staff made it my worst marina/boating community experience I've ever had. I highly recommend avoiding this place.

Brickyard Cove is a great marina. the amenities are just right; nice docks, clean restrooms/shower…read moreroom, decent rates, the staff is wonderful and the harbormaster is a cutie (and his fur is so soft). when we were searching for a marina, we checked out the Marina Bay Yacht Club, Berkeley Marina and The Richmond Yacht Club. Brickyard Cove beat them all out. it's nice to have the little town of Point Richmond nearby to catch dinner or pick up some supplies. we also like to have breakfast at All's Fare, the local diner at the dock. but, hands-down, the greatest thing about this place is how fast we can get out onto the bay and get the sails up. it takes just minutes! the only thing i would like to see is free wifi. they had something set up but apparently it's not worked out well and they're changing over to something else, but it's sure taking awhile for it to get set up. other than that, we love this marina!
