I had the most amazing and joyful experience sending my kids to MKU at the University Heights location. However, when I learned they were closing, I began a frantic search for a new school that offered the same diligent and thoughtful Montessori curriculum my children had been experiencing. I also wanted a program with a rich Spanish language curriculum to support my trilingual children. I'm so thrilled to say that these past two months at MKU Shavano have felt like a self-fulfilling prophecy come true. My children love going to school and come home each day sharing their newfound love for literature and the arts. Their bond with their teachers runs deep - it warms my heart when they talk excitedly about what they learned while we eat dinner together. The front office staff is my daily dose of positivity each morning as I drop them off. Through my journey with MKU over the past year and three months, I can confidently say this place is a home away from home for my kids. If you are looking for an academically rich, safe, and loving environment for your child, look no further. I only wish I had enrolled my son and daughter sooner. Both of my girls have been there for over two years, and not a single day has gone by that I was worried about their safety or general well-being. The staff is extremely attentive, and they know every student by name. Additionally, the Spanish immersion PLUS Montessori is a game changer; learning life skills and another language from such a young age has had a positive impact on their overall growth and development. We moved further away from this school and made the easy decision to keep them there even though the drive is longer. Selecting MKU where our girls have a safe, clean environment to thrive in has been one of the best choices we've made as parents!

The morning teachers always helped with what was, at first, a difficult transition with the youngest child. Before long it became pick up that was difficult because they were having so much fun. My 4 year old is even reading already and I partly credit the teachers with that! I love that they offer the A-Beka curriculum; additionally they offer Spanish and music lessons. As if that weren't enough to keep the kids busy, they also have a dance school, STEM based education classes, and a gymnastic bus that goes to the Reed Rd location once a week all at prices that don't break the bank. As parents it is important to us to have our kids at a place that is more than just a daycare, we want to make sure they are learning at every opportunity and with our busy schedules I like that they can do gymnastics at school. The learning environment, teachers, and staff are exceptional. Our kids are well cared for, feed, and educated. We are so happy we found The Pillars and I am thankful every day that they take such great care of our little ones.

They continue to let the children bite innocent children that have no say because they are too young to express the hurt. But as long as they get their weekly pay that's all that matters to this childcare facility! This is not one of those day cares where you leave a child and the child doesn't come back with knowledge. My son just turned 4 and he already writes his name, numbers and identifies all of his letters with phonemic recognition. The teachers are very educated and know exactly how to implement the right needs for each child as well as the group as a whole. The Director and Assistant Director do their best to collaborate with the Regional Coordinator to help their business be what the parents are wanting and needing in their community. But noticed over the years, the teacher turnover rate was INSANE. (27 teachers total, left in 2024 alone and they don't even staff that many). Every couple weeks there seemed to be new teachers. My oldest moved to kinder this August and my youngest started. In August started the largest decline of a daycare I've ever seen, multiple teachers and the best director were fired and a new one replaced her. But with that, firings continued, one teacher was rehired (who had been previously fired for multiple reason, the largest being bullying children), CCS has been pulled, and there's maybe 5 or 6 classrooms actually being filled with children because so many parents have left (rightfully so). They're combining classrooms now because just as many teachers are leaving, so children don't have that consistency of the same teacher. The only reason and I mean the ONLY reason I stay was because the absolute LOVE and endearment I had for Viridiana. She is an angel/ one-in-a-million teacher you find who actually loves and cares for the babies as her own. Everyday I dropped my child off, it felt as if I was leaving him with family and I knew my child was taken care of. Other than that, it's obvious that the teachers are overworked, understaffed and under appreciated. Safety for the kids and staff is extremely important from COVID precautions to property safety and even practice drills for anything necessary. The Directors immediately get back to you and the app they allow parents to use communicates throughout the entire day with updates on meals, bathroom, accidents and even photos! She is part of their Early Childhood Intervention program and the increased knowledge of their staff about recognizing and addressing developmental delays has been critical in her development. Brighton's practice of inclusion where both children with and without disabilities and delays are taught together is extremely important to me. It shows my daughter how no matter who you are, we are all important and worthy of understanding and respect. I can not recommend Brighton more.
