We started with Safari Kid 2 years back for our first child's pre-K class. Miss Poonam then was so focused on making sure our kid is ready for Kindergarten. She was able to attend / complete KG at a private school and it was an easy transition for her. We then started our second child at Safari kid based on the positive experience. The teachers in the pre school are taking good care of the kid. Thanks to Miss Seetha, Miss Gurvinder, Miss Pushpa, Miss Meeta. We always have the feel that our child is in safe hands and an environment with positive vibes. The last 2 years with Safari kid was a great experience with the teachers and the management. We are happy with our experience with safari kids Newark. Our son has learned a lot since placing him when he was two years old. They helped me with the potty training process and made it so easy. He was only going three hours a day but it made a huge difference. I was genuinely surprised by the academic. All the staff were very nice and helpful. My son had been going to Safari Kid, Newark for one and half years. He started just before he turned 3 and he had been very happy here. The first 3 days were difficult for him given he never went to a daycare or school before. He took 2 to 3 weeks to adjust to stay from 2 hours to 5 hours every day. The classrooms are big and clean. The indoor and outdoor playing area are spacious as well. The teachers are very caring and helpful. They helped him eat, wear his jacket etc. when he could not by himself. I really appreciated that the teachers were prompt at giving a call to us when my son was not feeling well or complained about pain in his stomach or got hurt while playing (that happened once). The teachers are always open to answer any question. He loved the art, singing and dance (for Winter program) classes. He loved his teachers particularly Ms. Christine, Ms. Richa and Ms. Deepali and talks about them even now. We are glad we found this place for my son. Thank you! read more

My little one attended preschool here for 3 hours a day for about 6 months and we had a very positive experience with Safari Kid Newark. The teacher's were very kind and attentive to my kid's needs and took good care of her. The school organizes celebrations around memorable days like father's day, mother's day, st. patrick's day etc and those always livened up the parents' day as well during drop off and pickup. All the folks working here have been very responsive to us and helped us understand and helped us parents and the child adjust to the transition of moving to a preschool from being at home / being taken care of by a nanny. After searching many preschools, we decided to enroll in safari kid Newark. I was a little nervous because my son was going to home base daycare and now he needs to go to preschool, had a lot of questions like will he be able to adjust? Will he be able to eat by himself? My daughter has been going to Safari kid since Sep 2022 and recently joined their summer program. She is absolutely loving the summer program as it allows her to interact with her peers, explore new things, activities and play based learning. Even when she was in preschool, I saw a huge progress in her learning and social skills. My kid has been going to Safari Kids Newark since Sep 2019. It has been good experience for me as a parent in both online as well as in person version. Kiddo attended online class for few weeks before we decided to send her in person during the pandemic. She loves to interact and was able to get engaged with the teacher (Ms Deepa) as the teacher made sure all kids are heard and have good 1:1 interaction. I understand how difficult it is for both kids and teachers to interact through zoom. But kudos to the teachers who had patience, energy and engaging material to keep her attention for as much as possible. I also started in person class and kid has been going since last couple of months now. The center follows all the guidelines and have mandated  mask wearing for everyone(including kids) and regular sanitization of the area, toys etc. Yes its difficult times for all of us but really appreciate all the teachers for doing everything to provide safe place for kids. This is a review from past. Our daughter joined Safari Kids in Jan when she was 2yrs old. The teacher in her class took great care of her. Everything was great until July. One day her regular teacher was absent and someone else was "watching" the kids. My daughter broke her foot due to a shelf landing on her. I rushed over to take her to ER, upon arrival it seemed they were being vague on what happened. Also all the shelves has been removed from the room she was in, and they wouldn't explain. I am not the kind of person that would liked a thorough explanation and what they did to make sure it doesnt happen again. read more

Our experience with Safari kids has been Fantastic. Kind teachers vested in children's growth and well being. I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old who started in 2021 and both enjoy going here. Teachers are fun and they focus on both academic and social skills. For my 5 year old, I'm happy that the after care augments what he learns at public school. My son Shaurya has switched a few schools in last 3 months and we were very worried about how he would react going to another new school. There are a lot of factors that needs to be aligned for my son (or any child for that reason) to like the school: such as his learning and development, his teachers and friends, his fun activities, interesting work and play and moreover a mother's satisfaction that my chld is in safe hands and progressing. And I found all that in SafariKid preschol program. Like any other parent, I was very anxious and nervous in the beginning, but now its almost a month and I get very pleased when my son tells me happily me about his day. We love Safari Kid! Our son is learning so much, he's four and knows all his planets, days of the week, months, continents etc. in sing-song form of course! He's also learning some basic math and sign language, and writing his letters and numbers like a champ. The teachers are wonderful and the environment is always clean and organized. They have been especially safe during the pandemic, with new protocols that make us feel safe to bring our son there. He was so sad to be away from school and other kids during shelter-in-place, but now that he's back, we've seen a huge improvement in his temperament and basic well-being. My kids attended the Summer camp program in Safari Kid. We initially enrolled them in part time program, but my kids loved the program a lot and wanted to go full time. They enjoyed their time in The summer camp, with lots of play and learning, including arts and crafts. My kid started her education at Safari Kid and the the three years she spent there laid the right academic foundation for her that's visible in her current success at another private school. Everyday she was at Safari Kid, was fun as well as enriching for her. Their curriculum and the teachers know not just how to expose kids to various concepts but also to help them grasp those. I absolutely love Safari Kid! Safari Kid is a very good school. My son is just 4 yrs old and taking virtual classes due to COVID. Its been only a month he has taken a class but I can clearly see his speech and reasonal thinking have improved a lot. I am happy that the school focuses on academic and overall development of the child. My son got adjusted with the class from the second day onwards and enjoyed it a a lot. If I could give a 0 stars I would. My son attended in 2022 for only 2 months and was 3 years old at the time (very verbal). He was very excited to start his new school as his daycare closed due to relocation. After the third day he began crying and I just thought it was the new kid jitters. After about 2 weeks of nonstop crying I knew something was wrong! Always trust your mommy gut. One time he told me he was hungry and I asked him if he ate his lunch and he said he had dropped it. No one called me knowing I only worked 3 minutes away! My poor son went almost all day without lunch! We'll i let it slide. Then he told me one of the teachers was mean and hit another kid. I honestly didn't think too much of it when I should have but since it wasn't him, I didn't think much of it. What drew the line is my son came to me and said his teacher pulled his ear. I immediately spoke with the director the next day and told her that my son would not lie about something like this and she was trying to say that it didn't happen and she would talk to the teacher to see what was going on. After school I was expecting a meeting but the director was "busy" so I knew I needed written documentation and emailed her. She tried to say that they give facial massages during nap and maybe the teacher rubbed his ear wrong and hurt him but for my son to cry for two months going to that school I knew it was complete BS. I was going to pull him immediately but they didn't want to refund me my last month's pay, but out of no where, they did. I assumed so nothing else would happen and I'd report it because I did threaten if one more innocent happens I would! I didn't do anything but decided to write a review to warn parents because until this day when we pass the school, my son say remember my teacher was mean and pulled my ear. They TRAUMATIZED my son. I'd gate to think race has anything to do with it as my son was one of the only Hispanics. I also should have known better when we went to tour one of the moms was upset because they didn't take into consideration to learn black history but taught only their culture but whatever. My son was happy to leave and is loving and thriving at his new preschool which developed him for kinder this year. Hope this helps any parent considering this center! I wouldn't do it! read more

My child went there for after school program for couple of months last year and this review was long due. I think he is scarred for life!! They think "giving packets" and forcing them to learn is the way to take care of kids. There is a reason why there are professionals with degree in early year child education. Just hiring someone and letting them loose on kids is not a good model. Btw some of the teachers are so loud, you can hear them as soon as you enter the facility. read more

My son has been coming here since he was 18 months old. He did not go during COVID. Later he resumed. He is now 5 years old. Safari kid teachers are loving. They do not believe in harsh punishments or shaming, which is great. They believe in positive reinforcement and reminders to direct positive behaviors. They encourage kids to eat and help them with eating. This place has a small playground which is also a plus. My kid has learnt to write words here as well! I would recommend this place. read more

I got a recommendation for this school so tried to call to get more info -- I can never get anyone on the phone. Couple complains/concerns: 1. Their website did not have any info on the afterschool program. 2. In the past two weeks, I called many times, also left messages but no one return calls. I have called few other afterschool programs in the area and everyone answers the phone. To really think about this, I won't be comfortable sending my child to a place that no one answers the phone. Referred by one of my friend & initial response was good & my kid joined middle of the month, during admission they said they will collect prorated price.. but when my kid joined they almost collected 3/4 amount of month fee for 8 day school .. when asked the reason I got a rude answer & from there it continues.. I will see whether to continue my kids in the school or not.... My suggestion is before you commit admission .. make sure to inquire about process & fee structure...!!! read more

I enrolled my 2year old at Safari Kid with the intention that the preschool program would help him with his communication and learning skills. As this was something we talked when I first enrolled him. My son is energetic and loves to explore, I mean what do you expect from a 2year old boy. My experience with the preschool program was that teachers are NOT PROPERLY TRAINED to deal with 2year olds and they are RUDE. The communication was also an issue as to not having any updates on his improvement or daily schedule. I would get the same negative response when I asked about his day. I can go on and on about how bad this place is but I made my main points. On the last week I get a call from Director Aparna and asks me if I can take my son out 1week earlier because they were helpless and did not know how to handle my sons situation anymore. I was very surprised to hear this coming from the Director. I was very disappointed with the program and do not recommend this place. read more

Excellent place to send kids to. Both my kids have been going to Safari Kid since many years now; and not a single bit of problem or complaint. In fact I was surprised to see that the teachers go out of their way to take care of the kids, do many other activities - both outside as well as inside the school and provide adequate study - as well as and more importantly - play and activity time. They have many centers/locations and my kids have been to more than 2 locations in the past - and all of them are excellent places - in fact that's one thing that I really like about them and that is consistency of their study material and their standards - which I see is lacking in many other schools. One more point: as I was saying the teachers go out of way to be there for the kids. My son benefited a lot when he was given personal attention for his Star testing and I could see a world of difference in him. Thank you all the hard working teachers at Safari Kid. This is the day care/ pre-school where I placed my grand-daughter last year. She suddenly had to live with me, had just turned 4 and was a very interested, energetic and engaged child. I on the other hand, work full time and had to make sure she was not only safe and well cared for, but nurtured and taught some of the many building blocks that she was lacking in terms of abc's & 123's for a child of her age. I dropped in during normal hours, was greeted by a delightful administrator, who walked me through the program and showed me around. I was immediately comfortable with the set up, cleanliness and the activities that were taking place. Each classroom had at least 2 adults and their tone with the children was so reassuring. I raised 4 children of my own, 3 of which were in pre-school's and day cares from the time they were very small. My instincts are well honed to look for inadequacies to proper care with places like these. No red flags, so I signed her up. This proved to be a very good placement, she remained there for over a year, and is now in kindergarten doing extremely well. I've had extra help at home with her father taking the lead on her after school care, but now his job is going to require that we find an after school program. I remembered that Safari Kid's pick up from local school's and am looking into their after school program. I came across yelp and noticed that this wonderful pre-school was did not have many reviews, they are probably too busy taking care of children to look after their on-line presence. But I felt I should step up and give my recommendation to them as they really were amazing with my grand daughter and with me. My daughter has been going to safari kid from almost 4 years now since she was 3 years old. She attended pre-k/summer camps/after school care. It has been a great experience for us and a great learning curve for my daughter. We just finished our summer camp for 2021and shifted to after school care. My 4.5 yr old has been going to Safari Kid for over an year now, and I am more than satisfied with his progress on academic/social/creative skills. They let the kids be kids and work according their pace instead of pushing them unnecessarily. Their curriculum makes sure that kids are not found wanting when they start KG. The focus is on concepts rather than rote memory. They have a fixed theme every month (ex. animals, earth etc) and they provide quality information on that theme. She was talking to me and also talking to her family member on cell phone. Didn't show any interest for enrolling our son. Rather than giving any details from her end, her first question was like do you have any questions or need any information from me? Recently we had to send our kid to Safari after COVID SIP was lifted and they were fully prepared with all the precautions such as taking kids temperature, making kids to wear mask, area sanitization and social distancing. As one of the first students of Safari Kid at the original Newark location in 2004, where my mother Ms. Bakhtavar is still a teacher, I am in a unique position to give my perspective on this school. I have seen it grow over the years to its current form as a premier early childhood education center. The credit goes in no small measure to the hard work of its founder Ms. Shy, and the dedicated teachers and administrators. My primary teacher was Ms. Shy. Although it's been over 10 years, I remember she would use a computer and projector to display alphabets on the wall as she taught us phonics. I attribute my ability to read at a very young age to Ms. Shy and her innovative methods, not only in reading but also in math and number skills. I was also taught by Ms. Press, who is now a senior and well respected teacher at Safari Kid Newark. I also remember other teachers who shaped me in my formative years, Ms. Williams and Ms. Sonal, who are now actively running their own Safari Kid branches. I cherish my friendship with my first friend, Sahil whom I met at Safari Kid. As I reflect on the significant contribution Safari Kid has made to my early education, I can not emphasize more on the after-school support that parents can provide. In the evenings, my mother gave me supplementary material to strengthen what I learnt at Safari Kid, ending the day with reading bed time stories. Over the years, I've seen Safari Kid grow significantly, but it is no surprise. The school has a high retention rate of qualified teachers like my mother, Ms. Bakhtavar, and Ms. Press, both working here for over 10 years, as well as experienced directors like Ms. Aparna. Although I can not comment on other preschools, I know first hand the level of effort teachers put into preparing for class at this school. My mother enjoys working here because it gives her an opportunity to be creative, and help each child develop to her or his fullest potential as though s/he is her own child. read more

If ur child cries and he/she has running nose, no one will clean it, u will notice it all dried up when u go to pick up ur child. They promise ur child's diaper would be changed, but no way.poop will be there, ur child will be stinking.Teachers dont pay attention. teacher Sonal Pay's attn to Admissions and calls instead for [aying attn to children.
