The Newark Community Center Preschool and Daycare is a hidden gem in the area when it comes to daycare options. We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have found this for our second kiddo and can't believe how amazing the teachers, the classroom, and the support system is. Between our two kids we have used 5 different preschools/daycares in the area and hands down this is the best one around! read more

We have watched our little one grow in this school. I wanted to find something play based for our kiddo since he's very active and learns through doing. Its through this school that he's learn to be brave, kind, and a leader. Of course he's learned some interesting subjects and brought home LOTS of art pieces. To start off, the parents are wonderful and I've made lifetime friends with a few of them. My son has also made friends that are so impactful, we schedule play dates to ensure their friendships continue to grow. The teachers are kind, patient, and knows how to motivate the kids to be their absolute best selves. My son calls me by his teacher's name all the time since he loves her so much! The teachers are all personable and hilarious and they naturally get to know every student AND parent on an individual level. Daycare is tough for parents since we entrust individuals with our kids and we don't know what they're doing all day. our kids may not know how to communicate (or just forget). Brightwheel is the app for all parent/teacher communication and they're very active in uploading photos, calendar events, reminders, and direct messages. There's always so many photos and synopsis of their projects, it's nice to be able to ask our kids on the details on what they did that day. Despite the open lines of communication, teachers and Ms. Kim always make the effort to talk to parents if issues arise or just to say some perceptive comments about our kids. They say it takes a village to raise a child and I truly see this childcare center as a community! The Newark city department workers are involved with events ( i.e. fourth of July parade, Santa visit, etc) and parents volunteer their gifts if they feel inclined. I've had only one other experience with a daycare and Ive felt that this daycare is established and dialed in. In comparison, i've never had my child complain about being bored or even cry during drop off. The teachers are collaborative and response and ensure we, as parents, are informed of our kids progress. You won't regret visiting this center! read more

We LOVED our time at the Newark Community Center Preschool! Our son started when he was 4 years old and enjoyed going to school daily. The staff there is amazing and really take an interest in the children's development. This is one of the best places in Newark! HIGHLY recommend!!!! read more

My daughter goes to preschool here and It is really great place for kids to blossom . They have great activities for kids and maintain very good structure. I am glad we found this pre school for my kid. read more

Newark Community Center is one of the best preschools and daycares in the area! The teachers are warm, caring, and truly dedicated to each child's growth and happiness. The environment feels safe, welcoming, and wonderfully diverse -- kids get to learn and play alongside friends from many different backgrounds. My child has shown amazing academic and social development since joining. The center also offers great value for the quality of care and education they provide. It's hard to find a place that balances affordability with such high standards, but Newark Community Center really does. My experience here has been nothing but positive, and I'm so grateful for the amazing staff who make every day special for the kids. If you're looking for a nurturing, inclusive, and well-run preschool or daycare, this is definitely the place to go! read more

We've had our child enrolled in preschool here for 4 months now, and he just adores the staff! They're attentive and communicative. You can tell that they truly care about the kids. I was worried about the transition to full-day childcare at first, but they made the process so seamless by providing ideas to help with the transition. And even 4 months in, I still appreciate the photos and notes on what the children are learning. Compared to other full-day preschools and childcare centers, Newark Community Center Licensed Childcare is very reasonably priced. Their facility is large and very clean. The building is a little older, but it's functional and well-suited to the needs of the school. I like that they have large classrooms and ample outdoor play space. I was a little worried about the ventures to the public park, but my little one always has a blast and it's clear that the teachers take supervision seriously. I think the school could benefit from rebranding because part of the reason they're a hidden gem is because references to the school vary, making it harder to find (E.g. Newark Child Care, Licensed Childcare, Community Learning Center). But I truly have had an amazing experience with this school and the staff. We look forward to more happy memories here! read more

I am feeling so blessed that I was referred to this school and had my child enroll at here. We have been in this school for about 9 months, and I can't thank enough for how much they have taught my kid. Tuition is amazingly low yet their service is super and as good as other places. I only wished that I could have enrolled my kid here sooner. read more

My kid has attended for a year now and she loves the staff here. They are very loving and caring folks. They do crafting everyday and lots of celebrations throughout the year. If you are looking for a more institution type of environment, this is the place. On top of that, nobody can beat their price in the Bay Area. It's a DEAL not to miss. Can't say enough good things about this place. Strongly recommend! read more

I was ecstatic when I got notification that they opened after the COVID shut down. It was a very unique time and I think health and safety was all of us parents top concern. The facility is on top of all COVID protocols and communication with families. They even offered free weekly testing to students and family members which helped put us at ease when the infection numbers were skyrocketing. Newark community Center was the best introduction for my daughter to learn, be sociaI and understand the classroom structure. My daughter had the best transition into kindergarten after recently graduating from NCC. She made great friends (some which are in her kinder class now) and had such sweet relationship with the teachers. Ms fides, Ms Kim, Ms Denise, Ms Cindy, and Ms Diana all made my little ones experience the best. They are so loving, and really care deeply about their students and families. I cannot thank these teachers enough! If you are looking for a great preschool/childcare - look no further! read more

Accommodation is very clean and roomy enough. I was surprised with the bathroom. As big as the party is recurved it to be trashy or dirty but it wasn't. I don't like using public restroom but they're perfectly clean. And the ambiance is nice. read more

I really wish this preschool had been open during Covid because my daughter could have gone here for 2 years instead of just 6 months. The teachers put so much effort into the fun activities. For example they had a pirate treasure hunt! They had leprachauns pretend to run through the preschool and leave behind green paint. They even did a field trip to Ardenwood Farm. For 4th of July and Chinese New Year they dressed up and did a little parade. The art the kids do was better than the very expensive preschool she previously attended. The teachers are very positive and professional and responsive to parent concerns. There are some minor things that may not make it perfect for every child. For example, my daughter was used to not taking a nap. But this preschool requires the children lay down on their bedding for the entire nap time, whether or not they sleep. That part was hard for her. read more

My son has attended this day care and always came home with a huge smile. I cannot match this with any other center around the area. I drove 15mins to get here though I live in Fremont surrounded by numerous schools. His teachers Miss Dennise and Miss Donna were God sent. He didnt utter a single word at 3.6 months. He started talking a lot in few months, made many good friends and would chant his teachers names even after coming home "Miss Kim, Miss Donna, Miss Dennies, Miss Catherine and Miss Fides".I couldn't have trusted anyone else during his transition from India to here. They did lot of activities that are no match elsewhere. I am left with lot of adorable memories of my kids crafts. Thanks to the super amazing and warm team. read more

This review is for the Preschool/Child Care Center I could go on and on about why this is an amazing school/center. I literally have zero complaints about this school. My son only went for a year, but he has grown so, so much. The entire staff is excellent and checks all the boxes for me as a parent in education as well. They are so loving, patient and pay so much attention to detail with so much care. They are profissional and communicate well and will hear any concerns you have and address them. They have so much fun too- I was blown away by how many fun things they did but still provided an excellent learning environment. Yes, the center is old, but is so big and clean. My only concern going in was the playground they take their classes out to, however, they do an amazing job supervising and keeping children safe. My child started off as being a runner, but he quickly understood the rules and was always kept safe. I am so sad that today is actually our last day there but I will be forever grateful for finding and trusting them. I have zero complaints and no regrets. Please consider this childcare center/preschool for your child, you will not be disappointed!!! read more

My husband and I could not be more happy with our decision to enroll our daughter in the Newark Community Center's preschool program. As recent transplants to the Newark area, we took several months to research the various programs in the area to see which would provide the best experience and environment for our little one. Sure, she's three and it's mostly about playing, learning how to socialize and relate to other children, with some academia sprinkled in. But it was important that we place her in a program that helped build a foundation of growth and learning in a nurturing, fun and supportive environment. We feel that is exactly what we have found in Ms Kim and Ms. Maricel's classroom. Even before our daughter's first official day of school, we were invited to come by the center so that our little one could become acquainted and comfortable with the children, the teachers and the environment. This made the introduction to a new environment a much easier transition. From day 1, Ms. Kim and Ms. Maricel have been fantastic in helping not just our little one feel better about a major change, but also about helping us as first-time parents feel comfortable and happy with our decision in choosing the Newark Community center. It has now been over a month since our daughter's first day and she loves and looks forward to going to school everyday. We love the daily activities planned for the children; the weekly themes and them parties, the visits to the park playground located right outside the gated courtyard to the preschool, the arts and crafts and playtime. She is learning daily and has grown very fond of Ms. Kim and Ms. Maricel. She comes home so excited everyday and constantly talks about how her day went. We have been very pleased with the approach and environment provided by the Newark Community Center and could not say enough good things about the program. We absolutely recommend and encourage anyone considering enrolling their child in the preschool program to take the time to visit the facility and speak with Ms Diana, the program coordinator. She's been great; warm, communicative and helpful. It is obvious everyone here is highly skilled and qualified as educators in addition to having a passion for caring for children. read more

My Child goes to Newark Community Center's childcare program and my wife and I are so happy we chose this program. Our son looks forward to go to school everyday. The teachers do an excellent job giving us updates throughout the day of the activities and alerts for the school. Very safe and secure; I trust the staff and they have been outstanding. I almost wish they did elementary school grades. read more

We found this gem here in the area for our four year old and couldn't be happier. Super kind teachers and very nice curriculum. Unfortunately we had to move and our daughter had been here for only two months but she has learned so much, a lot more than I thought she would. She learned great habits where we did not have to constantly remind her, her letter, numbers and much more. Consider our daughter is an English learner and it was her first time being in a school environment. If you are looking for a place for your child, look no more. Register them here right away. read more

Great team of teachers, who provide a wide range of educationally stimulating activities. This is a true community-based child care center, which we appreciate. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would. When the gorgeous facility and adjoining park are the LOW POINT of the experience, you know there is something special here. Diana, Maricel, Kim, and the rest of the teachers are simply outstanding - they genuinely care for each child and provide a great learning environment where kids learn basic letters and numbers and such, but also important social and motor skills. My son has developed so much from his time here, and will sorely miss the school, his friends, and the staff. The hours are long, the rates are very reasonable, and the care is outstanding. If your child has an opportunity to be a part of this wonderful child care community, you should sign him up. It's great for the kids, the parents, and the whole family. read more

I wish I could give this place more than 5 starts! The teachers are excellent! I enrolled my son in October 2021 and the place was clean, the teachers are wonderful and take COVID precautions very seriously. My son was able to enjoy weekly themed activities circulated around their learning. My son loved this place. I appreciate the communication through the app and seeing the pictures throughout my sons day. The field trip to ardenwood was my favorite. I will be enrolling my daughter when she comes of age. read more

I can't even come up with the words to describe how happy I am with this program. Our daughter has been attending the preschool for almost a year now. She loves it. We love it. She adores her teachers, Ms Fides and Ms Denise, and her class (the Teddy Bears). The teachers obviously love these kids and it shows. Her days are filled with activities and friends and joy. When I pick her up in the afternoon, she often wants to stay - just for a few more minutes. She is learning her letters and numbers and all that. She's also learning to take turns and to share. She's learning something new and wonderful every day. About pirates or asia or animals or hawaii or the seasons and on and on. A solid foundation for kindergarten - not just educational - but socialization. And she also just gets to play. Her imagination gets to roam and grow and flower and bloom in this wonderful environment they create at the Newark Community Center. They get to play outdoors in the contained courtyard or the nearby park (or inside when it rains). Oh. . .and the song and dance number they did at the tree lighting ceremony. . . .nearly died it was so cute. All in all, I can't recommend this facility highly enough. So lucky to have our daughter there. read more

Extremely rude staff!! My son did not enroll at the Newark childcare center but I was charged a weekly fee for just inquiring and picking up the application. Who charges for picking up the application anyways? They took my credit card information for the application fee and started charging me a weekly tuition. Totally unacceptable!!! I was looking forward to sending my son there after reading all these excellent reviews but I don't think the staff came across as friendly at all. DO NOT SHARE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO WITH THEM !!!! read more

A special thank you to Miss Diana, Miss Fides, Miss Denise, and the Teddy Bears! You have cared for my son very well, and I have no complaints about your service. I am so thankful to have my son in such a wonderful preschool!! The staff is by far AMAZING. My son comes home from school each day with positive things to say. He has been learning so much from Ms. Fedus, Ms. Denise, and Ms. Diana in the Teddy Bear class. Ms. Maricel & Ms. Jennifer teach in the Busy Bee's classroom and are just as wonderful! They work hard with our children in such a fun environment. I was shocked to see my son bust out a dance routine at home that he learned for his graduation ceremony. I had no idea they were choreographing so it was a very cute surprise! The teachers go out of their way and it is more than appreciated! :) I can see the difference in my son since I have started him here just this past March. His behavior has significantly changed for the better and it was the best decision to put him in a school with a lot of peers. He is becoming more independent at home as well. Another thing that I found important was the fact that the kids are receiving a lot of outdoor time. I love knowing that my son is safe there. They have a doorbell you have to ring and wait outside until the teacher opens up. Everyone is always accounted for and us parents sign our children in an out each day. My son still has another year to go here and I couldn't be happier! A huge bonus for me, is that I actually went to this preschool as well when I was a little girl! Thank you to the whole staff for making this experience a blast! read more

I was recommended Newark Community Child Care Center even before I had children. Everyday when I drop off my daughter, I feel so blessed and thankful. Ms. Fides, Ms. Dennis, Ms. Kim and Ms. Diane are absolutely amazing. If I could take them along my daughters' academic journey I would. Newark community center child care is exceptional, they are so caring, 100% understanding, have so much patience, and respectful. If I could give more stars I would. read more

Wanted to provide an update to my review and I'm glad to say that nothing has changed - this preschool is still PERFECT! Both of my kids have gone to this school and my youngest recently "graduated." We're very sorry to leave this wonderful place and I urge all parents to send their kids here. The teachers are wonderful, attentive and caring. They've helped my kids out tremendously. My son was also VERY shy when he first started and the teachers brought him out of his shell. I can't tell you enough how much we love this place. Highly recommend! read more

In my opinion, this is the best pre-school, day care in the Bay Area. All three of my boys have attended this pre-school in Newark, and I could say that it provides a very safe and caring learning environment for all three of my boys. If I could give it a hundred stars, I would! My daughter leaves Newark Childcare center this to go on to Kindergarten after two full years in the Teddy Bear class with Ms. Densie and Ms. Fides, under the supervision of Ms. Diana. My daughter has grown, developed, matured from a toddler to a kindergartener under their watchful, nurturing, educating eyes. In my daughter's eyes, Ms. Denise is the funniest teacher ever, she goes way out of her to crate activities that they love and learn so much from, the themes they come up with every month, the arts and crafts, the people they bring in to enlighten our kids. Ms. Denise rocks! She is also a no non-sense kind of teacher and so my daughter knows how to have fun and be silly but also knows her limits. Ms. Fides is the kindest teacher in the world. She is patient, she is loving, she works hard with my daughter on her academics as she knows that she is joining a rigorous school in the fall and she wants her to be fully prepared. Ms. Fides and Ms. Denise are teachers that you leave your kids with and feel as if you've left them with your family. They are part of my daughter's world and her family. Ms. Diana is 'the best boss of teachers', she runs the place like clockwork. She is the grandma without too much spoiling and the best thing about her management style is organization, consistency, teamwork, and enormous care for the kids. The place is obviously like her home and her world. There is no doubt that this is most significant hidden gem that I stumbled upon in Newark. a significant place to leave you kids to learn and grow as if they are under your own care. There is nothing that I could have asked for more than what this place has given us. We leave with heavy hearts as life goes on but in our hearts, you'll always be our dear family. P.S. The Busy Bees class is no different with the amazing Ms. MAricel and Ms. Kim read more

This is my favorite preschool ever! My daughter dropped off from a family daycare coz the teacher forced 2-yr-old kids to put shoes on the correct feet. Then she was with me at home till she's 3. We toured several preschools including two at churches. I knew Newark city Childcare would not fail me at the first sight of the two organized classrooms. When Miss Diana told me "this is a traditional American preschool", I decided to take the spot. My daughter is in Teddy bear's room with Miss Fides and Miss Denise. They are very patient and lovely just like the little ones there. My daughter announced "this is the best school ever" after one week's stay, which made big brother very jealous. Every time when he went to pick her up with me, he's asking" can I come to this school too?" Oh no he's too big for this, he's in Kindergarten. My daughter loves all projects, songs and activities, she learned a lot from her class, such as letters, numbers and table manners. Sharing day, themed projects and parties are her favorite. What's more, parents can follow it up at school's private and closed Facebook group page. I still remember the pancake day, when my daughter told me she made pancakes at school, I thought it's a pretend play. Then I saw her picture on Facebook "she's whisking flour", it is awesome. The bonus is the community center park, kids will go to play in that big and shaded playground under all teachers' care every sunny day. Thanks to all teachers, kids have safe and happy time outside. Thank you, one school, two classrooms and five teachers, you are making every day wonderful! Parents, do come here and check if they have a spot for your adorable little one! read more

So far so good! Enrolled my son in their summer day care program and I could not be happier. The staff is always attentive to the children and they have the entire center at their disposal which allows the kids to run all over! And just in case the center is not big enough for them, they have a park adjacent to the center where the grass is nicely taken care of. I got quite a deal on their fees and it appears that they will have at least one field trip per week. This week was Aqua Adventure :) read more

We started 9/22/14. My child is 3.5. I called, got a tour the next day, registered the next week and she was in. I have to provide her lunch, but I love knowing what she is eating. I was looking around and became concerned that I wouldn't be able to afford a daycare with a preschool component and I was so HAPPY to find Newark Community Child Care. Seeing your child's world expand is priceless and this center does that all at a feasible tuition. The staff are great, from the first phone call to the tour. I couldn't believe I didn't know about this wonderful center prior to enrolling her. The center is in a wonderful park and the classrooms are great and away from busy streets. The center is clean and the children get snacks, have nap time and enjoy a stimulating environment. My child has cried every morning but the teachers are GREAT with her and with me lol, they stand at the ready when I leave and comfort her while engaging her in an activity. The crying stops within 2 minutes and I when I peak in the window the teachers have her engaged in an activity she likes. I really love that they pay attention and go to an activity, like painting that they know she loves to do. Each morning the tables all have activities for the kids to enjoy freely, the staff greet each person with a warm welcome. I called the first week to see how things were going and the teachers had no problem letting me know how her day was and encouraged me to call as often as needed. All the staff have been there over several years and Ms. Dianna has been there 20+ so it's nice to see commitment and stability among the staff, they are a great team and you can sense the respect they have for each other. It is a diverse group of boys and girls, two classrooms, great outdoor play areas. They recently had a police officer come talk and give them a tour of a police car. My child advised me that when she goes to the park she needs to stay with a mommy, a daddy or a grandparent. Yesterday she learned that if she is on fire to Stop, Drop and Roll, it was so cute to see her act it out. It is a relief knowing she is safe, learning and enjoying the experience. read more

Newark Community Center - Pumpkin Patch for the kids! This is so cool!! My kid was so excited, that she had a pumpkin patch at her school. Teachers Rock! - Preschools Near Me - Newark, California

My daughter Isabelle has been going to this school since March of this year. She just loves the teachers and other children. I love hearing all about her day at school when I go pick her up. She sings songs int the car that she learned that day, and tells me all about the other kids. This is not just a child care center, the teachers here prepare the kids for their next step into Kindergarten. The teachers give all there best and you can see that! They are just great! I trust my child with them. The class is affordable , I've compared to others. I truly recommend the Newark Community Center childcare/preschool program. read more

Review long due but here it is. My son has been going to Newark Community Center for 2 years already and now he is ready for Kindergarten. His teachers are Mrs. Maricel and Mrs. Jennifer. Both of them are wonderful and special in their own ways. My son loves going to preschool everyday. They have special events monthly and they always invites parents to celebrate with them. For example, for Mother's day there was a breakfast brunch for Moms. I absolutely feel safe leaving my son at this preschool/daycare. The teachers teach him a lot. He learns a lot and comes home sharing new songs all the time. Kids are expected to bring their own lunch. But one day, we forgot our son's lunch and the teachers put something together for him to make sure he eats. Go take a tour of this place! It is really wonderful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone to wants to put their child in preschool. read more

My daughter attends the Newark Community Child Care Program and I have been very impressed with the curriculum, teachers, and overall value this program provides my child and our family. My daughter is only 3 and is able to tackle beginner level reading. The program's Pre-K curriculum has no doubt accelerated her reading and comprehension skills. The teachers are top notch and focused on teaching the kids to be independent as well as creative (lots for art projects). I can tell they truly care for my daughter. As far as value, I can't find any comparable programs in the Tri-City area that offers lower rates. You get high quality, low cost child care with this program. This place gets a five star rating from our family. read more
