Not only her, but the whole staff (off the top of my head) - Ms. Rania, Ms. Sandra, Ms. Alicia, Ms. Mavie - were all so very loving and welcoming to my son and other kids. We decided to enroll our son at a neighboring Montessori closer to our home. If it doesn't work out for any reason, we have no problem coming back here since my son loved it. The transition from one location to the other went smoothly. We love the fact that the classroom size is small so their seems to be more attention to the kids. He has learned a lot and can trace letters/numbers and color within the lines of pictures. At home, he has learned to clean up after himself in regards to putting toys away, its not all the time. If he plays in his bedroom, he will clean up the toys before he goes to bed. Our son loves going to school, he's one of the earlier drop offs and the teachers welcome him with warm greetings in the morning and have him assist with morning tasks. His main teacher is Ms Poonam and he adores her, she has been a great teacher to him and has helped him become fully potty trained! My son was ready to be potty trained and when I asked the staff they would provide me a daily report and eventually were able to get him fully potty trained. It's a big help to have the school support when we were implementing potty training at home.

Money is what drives them and if your child has any kind of special need, they'd rather protect their profit and throw your kid out. My child has ADHD, was strongly suspected but undiagnosed at the time they attended this particular branch. The school didn't know how to handle it... Rather than working with us to see how they could support our child better, they stalled us; delaying meetings for one reason or another for weeks. We hired a behaviorist and a therapist, all of whom were more than happy to collaborate with the staff there to help our child cope. They would have none of it, and instead of helping it severely delayed our child's learning of any coping mechanisms. They often singled our child out, made them feel like a "bad" kid, which made our child question their self-worth. The end result is that when they finally agreed to a meeting, they did it under the pretense that they were open to working with us and our child, but in reality they sandbagged us at the virtual meeting and threw our child out of their school. Certainly they have their policies which we respect but the WAY they threw us out, under the guise of being "helpful" was truly indecent of them. I would rather they had been straight with us, we could have saved ourselves the effort and gone to a better school. Ultimately we DID find a better place nearer to our home where they were empathetic and highly qualified to handle children with cognitive behavioral difficulties. So if you strongly suspect your child might also have these special needs, stay away from Montessori Learn and Play. There are other vastly more qualified preschools in the area though they seem to have a monopoly here in Fremont. But seriously, take your time and do some research. Coincidentally, later on we did encounter one of their previous leadership staff in another caretaker setting, who had been tasked with giving us the boot at Learn and Play. I hadn't recognized them until later, but they ended up being great with our kid, the same kid they had thrown out years prior. It made it crystal clear to me that the personnel isn't so much to blame as the corporate machinations that drive this chain of schools... It is most certainly highly toxic, misinformed and greedy to say the least. Do not trust your children with them especially if they have special needs. Save yourself the heartache and the money.

Staff- We loved Ms. Cindy and Ms. Linda (both have left) for the 2-3 yr old class while my kid was there. They were energetic, caring and knew each child very well. We would always be updated with how the day went for my kid. With the current teachers for the same classroom our experience has been neutral. We never received one on one feedback from them as to how my child is doing and they never seemed to be involved in the activities. It was more like they are doing but not really enjoying it.I am glad my child didn't stay in their care for long. Teachers in the older kids classroom( where my child was until recently) are just awesome. We particularly interacted with Ms. Hema and Ms. Mariam and always received detailed daily reports with warmth and smile. Ms. Hema knows each of her kids' in and out and makes sure the quirks are attended to. That is such a comfort when you leave your kids for the major part of the day. Ms. Alma is the leader of all activities and events (and there are plenty to keep the kids busy, excited and involved). From chinese new year to christmas and everything inbetween she hosts the best events I have seen at a daycare. Kids are equally involved and helps develop their creative sides. Food- Breakfast and lunch are provided with rotating menus. Each meal includes a good balance of carbs, protein, fruits and veggies. menus are posted on the wall for reference. Facility- Spacious, well lit and well ventilated classrooms.Backyard is big and secure and the ground is made of artificial grass which I prefer vs. sand or wood chips. Large parking area for pickup and dropoff. Overall I really love this little flowers and its wonderful staff. Miss Thiru, her teacher in the Lilac class, has been absolutely incredible -- a perfect blend of warmth and discipline. She is both loving and firm, which is exactly what young children need to grow, learn, and thrive. We feel truly lucky our daughter had her as a teacher this past year. The daily schedule is thoughtfully balanced with Montessori activities, worksheets, and play. The worksheets have been especially helpful in building her number and letter recognition, as well as her logical thinking skills -- all while keeping her excited and engaged. The outdoor playground is spacious, and the kids love their time there. The only suggestion I'd make is to add some shaded areas, as the summer heat can get intense during the 2-hour outdoor window. Our daughter often comes home visibly tired from the sun. Overall, we really love the school and the nurturing environment it provides. Grateful for the foundation it's building for our daughter's learning journey!

All teachers took great care of both of our kids and have played a key role in shaping them. The teachers are tenured and their experience really stands out, some of them have been at the center for 20+ years! There were some management changes and teacher departures in the last year of our time at Kindercare which did rock the boat, but I can say that the staff onboarded now is executing well! Our daughter picked up reading when she was 4 after regular phonics sessions with Ms. Wanda and is now reading us bed time stories :) - she still misses those sessions and doesn't forget to praise Ms. Wanda. And I know how local the teachers are because I've seen them around our neighborhood and at the Hayward Costco. We took our LO out at 18mo because the K12 we enrolled him in also had a preschool program, but should we have another child we absolutely intend to place them in Alvarado's care again.

Our daughter R is thriving at Kindercare Alvarado! She has only attended for six months and already…read morewe have noticed a marked acceleration of her learning, her motor and social skills, and her confidence. She is a social kid who does well with group activities and lots of engagement, and the staff have delivered on that. Art projects, outdoor play, creative group activities -- she enjoys it all. I know because she's exhausted at the end of her day :) and constantly singing new songs or pointing out new colors, animals, etc. she learned about at "school." I also appreciate how communicative and responsive staff are. R experienced a few incidents with other students, and her teachers were prompt in notifying us of the situation, explaining how and why they handled the response, as well as following up after a few days to see how R was doing. I am also impressed by how every staff member seems to know every kid's name, even those not in their primary classrooms. They are so attentive, compassionate, and respectful of even the smallest humans. I feel supported and assured as R's parent knowing Kindercare is supporting her and all her classmates so well.
