Before we purchased our first car (2017 Mirage) from Atzenhoffer, I called a different dealership that was advertised as the "volume dealer" in Texas. I asked for the "out the door price" and my vehicle trade-in value. A salesperson called me back and said the used car manager would take an hour to determine the trade in value (it was a 20 year old Saturn), but it would probably be between $250 and $750 which was fine. He said the price of the new car we wanted was "X". I said I'd have to think about it. An hour later a different salesperson called and said he was the previous salesperson's manager and that he could authorize the price of the new Mirage to be "Y". Ugh! I could see where this was going. An hour later yet another person called and said that he was the 2nd caller's boss and could authorize the new car price to be "Z". At this point, I was exhausted thinking about dealing with those people, driving to the city, AND spending an hour with my "good old girl" Saturn on the lift so they could decide what NOT to give me for a trade-in value. I took a chance and called Atzenhoffer. I love driving to Victoria and figured after the fiasco with the "volume leader" place, I would see what they had to say. I called and got Jeff Smith on the phone. At this point my patience was already thin because of the other dealership. I said "I need this car with these features, I have a '97 Saturn to trade-in, and I need an out the door price". He called me back in 15 minutes, had exactly what I wanted, and gave me an out the door price within $100 of what took 3 phone calls to the "volume dealer", (more like bs dealer). He also said they'd give me $500 for my trade. I said "just like that, no hour in the shop?". He said "nope." We drove straight to Atzenhoffer in Victoria after that call. We met with Jeff and took our new car for a test drive. He filled out all of the paperwork quickly, (wonderful penmanship by the way), then took us to see Raymond in Finance. Raymond is extremely knowledgeable about financing vehicles, the best way to go about it, and super fast. By the way, his electronic desk is the coolest thing ever. Give them chance, and you'll see what I mean. We were in and out in no time with the best car buying experience I've ever had. No bs, upfront BEST price, and very friendly. Never once did I feel like Jeff was going to "go see what his boss says about the price". If you need a new car, go see Jeff Smith. Atzenhoffer has many new cars for the same price as many places has used ones so why wouldn't you? I can't say enough that Jeff is the best. We have purchased 2 vehicles so far (the first got totalled by baseball sized hail) and my kids are now 16 and 17. I have no doubt that will be going back to see him. Thanks Jeff!

Despite being in active text communication with Kaitlyn the days prior and EVEN THE morning of my trip, she failed to provide this critical update, showing a complete lack of professional due diligence. I arrived with my trade-in prepared and title in hand, only to be met with a dismissive attitude; Kaitlyn actually chuckled through the interaction, demonstrating zero accountability for the significant time and effort I wasted. Prospective buyers should be wary: this appears to be a systemic issue here. I am looking into formal reporting options, as these deceptive trade practices are not just poor business--they are illegal. *Edit 1 month later I thought I'd look to see if the truck in question is still being used as bait...it is. It's all anyone really needs to know about this dealer, they don't really care apparently. We're still moving forward with more formal complaints at the moment. If we can save anyone some time and money then it'll be worth our hassle.

When I got the vehicle back there was smoke coming from the engine bay so we brought it back and were told it was an oil return tube for the turbo which they installed. Been waiting three months for a part they said was on backorder and a special order item with no eta. I started calling other dealerships to see if they had the part when I found out there was a kit with the part in it the whole time no one mentioned to me we could have gotten three months ago all because they didn't want to pay the extra money for the kit. Asked for the service manager five times throughout the whole time and never got a call back. Service dept. would tell me one thing then call me the next day and say they can't do it cause the warranty and if they did do it I'd have to pay for it. If there was a 0 stars option I would pick that never going here again and gonna turn everyone I know away from this place as well

However I was not inclined to listen to Mike as I had replaced the stock GMC batteries with Odyssey Batteries which are less than 2 yrs old and about 28,000 miles. We pulled the truck from the dealership, pulled the batteries, had three different load-test done, the last one was done at Interstate battery and all three test showed that both batteries were good to go no dead cells. Best case, this is pure laziness on the techs part, worst case your shop is actively defrauding the general public that puts its trust in you. Neither is acceptable!

I returned the vehicle multiple times and made repeated requests for repairs. Over the course of several months, I personally demonstrated the issues to service staff, recorded conversations and incidents, and even installed a dash cam to document the ongoing problems. Despite all of this, the dealership refused to repair the vehicle. As of July 1, 2025, the dealership has still refused to release the vehicle's service records. When the co-owner requested them, they were told "we don't have any," despite the vehicle spending multiple days -- even weeks -- on their lot. Do NOT purchase from this dealership. They will: Refuse to perform repairs -- even those covered under a valid factory warranty Refuse to honor service contracts Deny ever working on the vehicle Blame the customer for "user error" instead of addressing real mechanical issues Let me be clear about the individuals involved: Stephanie Johnson (Service Dept): Offers no assistance and passes customers off to a service manager who lacks knowledge or initiative. Alan Whitson (Service Manager): Refuses to take responsibility, denies valid concerns, and places blame on the customer. Tommy Taylor (General Manager): Acknowledged the issue and even said they would "just go ahead and replace the radio" -- which was never done. Nancy Kern: Handled communication with the DMV during the formal complaint I filed. After that, the dealership refused all service, claiming that I had "taken legal action" simply by initiating the complaint. This dealership is not trustworthy. In fact, they went so far as to issue a criminal trespass warning against a disabled veteran -- solely to avoid making necessary repairs. They ignore warranty obligations, avoid accountability, and withhold documentation that customers are legally entitled to receive.

That morning I signed the papers without knowing what I was going to get myself into. On those papers it was agreed I was going to put down a 2000 deposit. Well I didn't. A few days later I got a Tesla from another dealership nearby. ( I live in El Paso and Victoria is 10 hours away. ) then they called me saying my car was ready to be picked up. Odd. I didn't have a car from them. I pushed it aside maybe it was some sort of miscommunication. Nope. I got a bill from capital one with a loan that was not approved from my behalf. I didn't sign no loan agreement. Nothing. A bill for 35 THOUSAND dollars. Anyways I panicked as most people do. So I called them non stop. Always got put on hold. But it turned to ignoring my calls. Blocking my number. Straight to voicemail for me and my husband. So. I went down there. Drove 10 HOURS. Because. I didn't put a down payment. That means the contract was not completed. They had sent a bank an incomplete contract. So i got my happy ass down to the dealer. What did I see in the parking lot you may ask? THE TELSA. Got the vin number correct and everything. A lady named Ana came out trying to see why I was there. I said I'm Kimberly and she immediately recognized me. " are you here to pick up your car" " no I'm here to cancel the contract" she said " well you already signed the papers, its yours" I wanted to talk to the manager immediately. So I waited in the lobby very unhappy. Ana called me up and we spoke and for 5 minutes she kept telling me it's my car I sighed the papers. But my argument was I never gave a deposit, so that automatically by LAW invalidates the contract. So she did a flat cancel and she tried to send me off. But I didn't want to leave without physical proof that it had been flat canceled. She then proceeded to say well I can email it to you because the people who do that are in a meeting. I said can I get that email right now? She said she can't. I said I'll wait until they are out of a meeting. Waited about 40 minutes before I asked the receptionist for an update. Then a lady came up to ask about my situation. Finally spoke to the manager and he also said he cant give me proof of a flat cancel. I said I need a document stating it had been cancelled. Then finally after 10 minutes I got the document. I was on the phone with the bank the entire time letting them know the whole situation. Even the bank thought I put a down payment!! But I assured them I never did. I went to bed at midnight, because I work late. Then I woke up at 2 am TO GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. Absolutely unprofessional and unethical seriously. I can see why they have trash reviews. Anyways. That was my experience with this hell hole of a dealer. I would think 4x over if you want to get a car here. They will fuck you over. Thank you.
