Saelo has easily become my go-to skin care clinic. I have been going monthly for The Upkeeper treatment since October 2024. I started The Idealist treatment via early access back in July 2025. Getting The Upkeeper treatment monthly has been such a game changer for me. My skin has never looked or felt better. Nics is the absolute sweetest and is the Skin Expert that takes care of me 99.9% of the time. She is so thorough during the treatment and I always leave Saelo with glowing skin. I have gone in for The Idealist treatment twice now since writing this review and Allison handled both appointments. During my first appointment in July, I had units of Xeomin injected into my forehead, glabella, and masseters. I was initially a bit hesistant to get Xeomin but Allison made me feel very comfortable and informed before proceeding. During my second appointment in August, I had shots of Oligio all over my face and jawline. When first getting Oligio, I wasn't too sure what to expect in terms of results. Now I am 3-months post-treatment and beyond impressed. My jawline looks so much sharper and my face is a lot more balanced in terms of shape. With seamless booking, straightforward check-in, knowledgeable staff, beautifully designed treatment rooms, and real results, Saelo has won me over for the foreseeable future. Can't wait to see the Hayes Valley location come to life! read more

I got the 45-min facial and the improvement was stupendous! Twinks are held to a different beauty standard, it sucks, but that facial makes higher standards very attainable. The room where the magic happens is lovely- the overall energy/ vibe is soothing and your epidermal troubles melt away. It should be named Slaylo. read more

"What's your skin care regimen?" Ummm, does chicken feet and hot pot count? I haven't gotten into the darth vader visor and white gloves stage yet. IYKYN. I've neglected my skin for far too long, not having had a facial in over 10 years. What better way to start my skin journey than with the city's first Korean skin care clinic: Saelo. Unless you've been sleeping than you know Korean glass skin is goals! Opening in late June 2024, Saelo uses high-tech, advanced technology from Korea not used in the U.S. They received so much interest that within 1-2 days of opening their appointment books, they sold out for July and most of August. I booked my appointment in late June and wasn't seen until last week but it was totally worth the wait. S E R V I C E S * The Upkeeper: 45 minute hydrofacial ($169) * The Devotee: 60 minute skin regeneration with microneedling ($389) * The Idealist: A custom treatment for facial rebalancing using injectables, filler, laser, and radiofrequency (starts at $800) - Injections/filler performed by an RN. Not available yet. NO TIP! What you see is what you pay. Upon arrival in the treatment room, I was provided with plushy disposable slippers and offered a weighted blanket. T H E U P K E E P E R For the soft opening, it was only $99 for the abbreviated 30 minute version. No LED or HIFU (ultrasound treatment) in the 30 minute session but included in the 45 minute session. The hydrofacial included skin analysis, cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection. It's finished with a strengthening ampoule (like a serum) and modeling mask with 24 k gold to improve fine lines. They use an Aqua Peel for exfoliation and extractions, very cooling and relaxing. No downtime. Histolab skincare products are used and they have plans to get them in for purchase. With my sensitive skin, a custom blend of skin care products (i.e. face cream) was created for me. T H E R E S U L T S I came in with itchy, red skin and left with glowing glass skin with noticeably smaller pores and tint of rosy cheeks (redness was reduced). And, my lips were shiny AF from their lip mask. S E R V I C E My esthetician, Nicole was awesome. She was kind, knowledgeable, and walked me through every step of the process. No judgement that my skin was a hot mess from inflammation and congestion....after going a decade without a facial. I met one of the founders, Bri (Bridget) who was super friendly and passionate about their clinic. She kindly answered my questions. A M B I A N C E Minimalist futuristic vibes but comfy with relaxing music in the background. There's currently one treatment room but with an overwhelming demand, they're expanding with another room. P A R K I N G Parking was rough. I had a weekday appointment and had to circle a handful of times to find a metered spot. Def give yourself an extra 15 minutes to look for parking. Overall, if you're looking for a spa facial with fluffs and bougie fem vibes, look elsewhere. BUT, if you're looking for a quick, results-driven facial leaving you with shiny glass skin, Saelo is it! This goes for men too, you're not excluded from good skincare. I was so happy with the results that I made another appointment on the spot. Next up, getting these eye bags in check...when their idealist rolls out! P.S. - Make sure to stop by B. Patisserie across the street afterwards for the best kouign amann. read more

Saelo - Histolab Skincare Products used for their hydrofacials to get you Korean glass skin ready! - Skin Care Near Me - San Francisco, California

Soooo incredibly lucky to have lucked out and secured an appointment for today! I did the Upkeeper at 3:30pm on a weekend (07.06) for $99 and this was totally worth it! The Korean hydrofacial treatment cleanses, extracts, and hydrates resulting in "glass skin". It's a hydrodermabrasion procedure safe for all skin types that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection. Finishes with a strengthening ampoule and modeling mask to improve fine lines & acne. Unlike other hydrofacials, their serums include renowned Kbeauty anti-inflammatory ingredient, Centella Asiatica. (Summary from their website). Parking can be tough around here but luckily I don't live far from here and it's within walking distance/short bus ride! I had the pleasure of having Nic as my esthetician who did an AMAZING job with asking me questions about my skincare and what I wanted her to focus on. There is a bin for you to put your belongings in, a weighted blanket that I loved and a wrapped towel to cover up my hair. Nic explained what products she was using on my face and the benefits which were very much appreciated! My favorite product that was used was the peppermint mask and when it was time to remove it she showed me the aftermath which was super satisfying to see. Next time I will have to take a picture! They didn't have the products available to purchase at the time but since then I've been told they have a few options now and are opening up a second room! Looking forward to hopefully another facial in the upcoming months! Highly recommend this place! Thank you to Nic, Kip and Brie for a wonderful experience and opening this in the city! read more

I saw this spot on TikTok when one of the owners (Kipeum) posted a video about a Korean skin/spa opening in sf. Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that Korean skincare is all the rage, so I had to check it out. As part of their soft opening, they offered a shorter/discounted version of their standard facial called the Upkeeper. The normal Upkeeper is 45 minutes, and I booked the short version for 30 minutes (mostly because of budget purposes) but also because the appointment was sooner! I think they currently closed appointments and their waitlist due to demand being so high! But I'm guessing they'll open the books again when the second room is ready, maybe in September. They currently only have one spa room (working on their second one quickly), and they have 2 estheticians (for now). I'm sure when their second room is open, they'll hire another one or two people! Their space is in a Victorian building. They will email you instructions on how to enter when you book an appointment. But it's all very easy and straightforward. Street parking around was limited but I think it would've been ok. (Came at 11 on a Saturday.) I took a Waymo just in case parking was bad, but give yourself 10-15 minutes to look for parking, and I think it'd be fine. I saw Nicole today, and right from the start, she's so friendly and welcoming! Since this isn't a traditional facial, you don't even undress your top half, but you get a bin to put your stuff in and an option of slippers to put on. The bed is comfy, and there are giant mirrors all along one wall so you can see your glowy face after. You get a towel to cover your top, a weighted blanket, and they wrap a towel around your head to cover your hair. One attention to detail I super appreciated from Nicole was that I have stubborn ear piercings that won't heal, and as she was wrapping my head, she asked if any of my piercings were new and possibly getting squished. She was very gentle, and my ears were fine. But props to her for noticing and asking! Loved that! She was very nice the entire time and explained every single thing she put on my face and why it was a good serum or acid (etc) to use and what it does or helps do. Every product she used felt and smelled really good. Since I had the 30 minute version of the Upkeeper, I did not receive any light treatment but I received a couple of masks (custom mix of things), and she used a tool that feels like a suction/vacuum all over my face which felt so good and satisfying. For my custom mask, I had hyaluronic acid, then she placed gauze over me, and then she did a peppermint mask (which smelled so good!) on top of that because it becomes almost a solid rubbery texture. So when it was time, she easily took off the rubbery mask layer by removing the gauze first. Then a final touch, she used a serum(?) or item similar to toner that feels and smells so good (used a couple times throughout the facial), and then moisturizer, lip balm (?), and sunscreen. The sunscreen felt and smelled so good that I bought it to use at home. It's hard to find a sunscreen that I like and also enjoy the smell of on my face, so I'm so happy they have a few products to sell now! I would highly recommend anyone interested in Korean skincare to try this facial, and I highly recommend requesting Nicole if you can! Also, the place is very clean and you can tell they put so much work into the renovation of the space. I'll be back in October to try the full 45 minute version of the Upkeeper, and I can't wait! Nicole mentioned she wasn't sure if they'll keep the 30 minute version of the Upkeeper forever, but I kind of hope they do because it's a nice option to have if you want to save a little bit of money but are interested in giving the facial a try. Or if you want to try to squeeze in a facial on a lunch break. So if you see it, definitely try to book it when the books are open again! read more

Saelo - Cute Victorian building that Saelo is in! - Skin Care Near Me - San Francisco, California

I booked with Saelo on their website after finding their IG Page. They're a new Korean beauty facial spa in San Francisco. Booking was easy but they go fast! Had to put my card in and answer a questionnaire. Easily walkable and busable if you're an SF local! Walking distance from the 24, 1, and 38! Nicole did my facial and she was so kind, and professional and made the atmosphere relaxed and rejuvenating. She explained everything she was doing on my skin, and she had a gentle touch! I felt calm and relaxed after. This is my second time getting my facial done by Nicole and I would definitely come again. I enjoyed my facial very much and would return for another one! They're new so I just did their most basic facial. read more

Saelo was recommended to me by my friend. I live an hour away so I was a bit skeptical about coming here, but needed a facial! To get the appt, Saelo releases their appointments for the next month on the 15th of the month before. It's a battle, so try and book asap! If you follow their IG, you can get notifications on last minute cancels and openings. When I came to my appt, it seems that there's only one room (?). It was a self check in process and fairly easy. I had Michelle and she was so professional and thorough. She explained everything in a professional manner and her extractions were not too bad. If you're looking for a relaxing spa day, this isn't one of those. If you're looking for lasting results this is the place to go! read more

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. Booking was super smooth, I was able to get in contact with someone within a day for help on any questions. Leading up to the day of the appointment there were several reminders, easy to integrate into my calendar and even a text reminder the day of. The appointment itself was super smooth and 45-minutes felt perfect for the Upkeeper. Brittany was super helpful in answering questions, addressing concerns and curating the facial as needed. I've had plenty of extractions before but this felt the least painful of them all and I'm so happy with the results. I don't have many skin concerns outside of dryness and white heads/clogged pores but felt the attention to detail was there every step of the way. Can't wait to come back for my Devotee! Thank you to the wonderful Saelo team for my new favorite facial spot in the city read more

Had an Upkeeper Facial at Saelo this weekend and loved the experience and service! I only get facials very rarely but that might be changing after having one here. They have high tech Korean clinical treatments and offer 2 services currently. The Upkeeper is a hydrofacial with LED light therapy for a flat rate of $169 (no tip needed). They cleanse your face, exfoliate and do extractions. It felt very comfortable and relaxing, great service for the price. The aesthetician was very nice and friendly! She answered all my skincare questions and had a very gentle touch too. Definitely recommend, my skin felt great after! It gave me glass skin. There was some redness from the extractions that went away within an hour or so. It can be hard to get a reservation since they book up quickly! I recommend following them on Instagram if you're a new customer because they announce open appointments through their stories. After your appointment, you can schedule your next one in the office which is great. read more

Came here for the first time and I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed. I normally get a facial from patina skin& wax but I might have to start coming here too. I was checking for appointments and randomly was able to get one on Thursday as a last minute one. I got the upkeeper for 45 mins with Michelle. The place is in a Victorian house and it's super cute and aesthetic inside. They give you instructions on how to get in and how to check in. The 45 min facial went by really fast. Love how she asked what my skin type was, what my concerns were and literally tailored a facial for my skin type. One thing I like is when the estheticians let me know what they are doing and Michelle was great with that. I always knew what she was doing and she made sure I was comfortable! It's definitely a bit of challenge to get an appointment but so worth it! I think this is SF's first Korean facial Spa and I'm here for it! I made another appointment and can't wait to come back again! Total: $169 read more

Excellent experience, from booking through to the service. Simple and clear options online, my first appointment here was for the standard facial (Upkeeper), and I immediately booked the upgraded version "Devotee" for 11 weeks out. Everyone on this team are so sweet & knowledgable. This is my main esthetician that I trust with my face. And let me tell you, my face always comes out looking better than I went in. It's gives me a glass skin effect! They're also attentive to any allergy insensitivities and will ensure their product don't contain anything that may be harmful to you. The facility is well kept and the music is so soothing that you might fall asleep during the treatment lol. read more

Absolutely amazing facial! My skin feels refreshed, glowing, and rejuvenated. The esthetician was professional, attentive, and made the experience so relaxing. Highly recommend to anyone looking to pamper themselves and give their skin some love!! 5 stars!! read more

Basic is all I can say. I was so excited and thought this is gonna be a treat trying to get a appt for months. Man was I disappointed. Just felt like a wipe down, steam Slapped on a mask and bam they rushed you out of there. 45 mins is really not enough. If you have questions, you better talk fast and get out. I did a better job at home tbh. This is great for first time beginners who never had facials before. Nice vibe in old Victorian . Near my favorite bakery . (That got the extra star) Great with all inclusive payment option but If you want real facials you gotta get what you pay. Really surprised with the reviews.... Glad I got to experience tho. read more

Discovered Saelo through tiktok and i've been eager to make an appointment but they're so hard to get !!! I'd recommend following them on instagram and turning notifications on for their posts/stories because they will have last minute cancellations sometimes which is how I ended up getting my appointment! Once you get your first appointment, it's a lot easier to book future ones. I got the upkeeper 45 min facial which is $169 (flat price - they don't do tipping). All of their devices and products are straight from South Korea and I was extremely happy with my experience and my results! Nics really took the time to explain every step of the facial, telling me what she was doing and letting me know what ingredients were being used which was so helpful. This was also the first facial i've had where they also applied lip care, spf, and free samples! This is definitely going to be my go to spot in the city now. The space is also so cute, it's tucked away inside this cute victorian home in Pac Heights and the waiting area is open and spacious. They're really good about sending instructions and reminders so I didn't feel lost at all when checking in. It's street parking so, depending on the time of your facial, it could be easy or difficult. I'm already looking forward to my next appointment that i've already booked :) read more

Vanessa did a great job with my facial today. I feel so hydrated and glowy! She is also the sweetest!!

I had such a wonderful experience at Saelo! I was waiting for them to open up more appointment spots via Instagram. They book up so quickly! The appointment went by smoothly. You check in at any of the iPads and have a seat in the waiting room. Britly greeted me and walked me to the room. Placed my belongings in a basket, switched to some comfy slippers, laid down on the bed, and she placed a weighted blanket on top. Britly was very personable and gave wonderful suggestions. The facial was relaxing, pain free, and hydrating. Britly was very communicative and honest. Parking can be tough, but grabbing some pastries from b. Patisserie makes up for it :) read more

My sister raves about Saelo so I thought I'd give it a try. I've never gotten a facial and I hear all the rave about Korean skincare. The owners are new entrepreneurs that come from tech and want to disrupt the skincare market in the Bay Area. After my sister recommended, I saw people post about Saelo and got even more excited. Not that I know a lot about skincare, but this place felt different and didn't make me feel awkward. The overall vibe is futuristic and not your typical clinic. I came in for the upkeeper--no tip included. This service focuses on skin concerns and health using high tech machines like aqua peeling and medical grade LED. They let me know that skincare treatments are just their first treatment and they plan on being a full medical clinic with nurses and a doctor. You can really see the love and care that went into the brand. I can't wait to see what comes next and support Bay Area founders!! read more

Michelle did my facial, it was super relaxing and customized to my skin's needs. The products smelled amazing and the equipment was brand new, everything is the latest from Korea. I flew from Dallas to SF for vacation during my birthday. One of the things I really wanted to do was to have an incredibly well done facial. Saelo made it happen for me in an extra special way! Nics and I had been exchanging emails to see if she could find a time to fit me in during my vacation here; with only a couple of weeks notice at most. Not only did they fit me in during my trip, Nics and the team surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers upon arrival. They really went above and beyond to make me feel special. Nics, explained the procedures and product that she applied to my face. She also recommended the best sunscreen and provided me with some sample products to take home and try. Anytime I return to SF, this is the first place I would go. Thank you to Nics, and thanks so much to everyone at Saelo! For starters, as a male in tech sales, this is my first spa experience and Saelo knocked it out of the park with their express facial treatment, the Upkeeper. I'm surprised it took me this long to experience what all of the buzz was about. I had the devotee treatment done. It was very relaxing. You enter the room and it smells SO GOOD. They give you a weighted blanket and she explains everything that she's doing the facialist was really kind and seemed well educated on the products the spicules and exosomes seem to work really well. You are not supposed to wash your face or get it off of your face for 24 hours and even after I did that I can still feel some tingling when applying sunscreen which I liked because it made me feel like it actually worked the next day I went to work without make up because I felt so smooth and confident it's now been a couple of days and I think it's still looking really good. They say you need to do three treatments for it to really show results but they barely have enough follow up time for when she recommended so that was a bummer. I think I'll try to go again one day, but it doesn't seem like I'll be doing it anytime soon. I think my favorite part was the facial massages that she did prior to the actual treatment. read more

I had been wanting to try this place out and was lucky to snag an appointment for the Upkeeper facial ($169, no tip what you see is what you pay) from a last minute cancellation today. If you're local, it's easily accessible by main bus lines like the 38. Nics was my esthetician and she was so lovely! She clearly walked through each step and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. I love that they had a weighted blanket on deck - a nice way to feel settled. I have sensitive combo skin with blackheads and slight red patches, so that was my main focus. Prior to your appointment they'll send you an email to fill out info about your skincare routine and needs. Nics brought it up onsite and explained how the treatments she planned help to target what my skin needs. Turns out my skin is pretty dehydrated so that helped guide me on what I can do on the day-to-day to combat this. Overall I walked out with that super soft "glass skin" It was a really great way to relax and pamper myself.
