Sunset Apartments - Mold from the AC backing up into my apartment the management claimed was "normal", flooding is NOT NORMAL.

Anyone moving to San Angelo ... Do not rent from Sunset & The Annex Apartments San Angelo Texas!!!…read moreWe have carpenter ants they were biting our son and causing a welt-like reaction. They didn't want to do anything till we said we were not going to renew our lease. Then that day they sent someone to spray where the ants were. We asked to be let out of our lease due to this issue and they declined it. Well now the carpenter ants have moved to our bedroom and are coming from under the floorboards and on the walls. Below are pictures of my son's bites and the video of the ants and damage done already. Just be warned they only put bandaids on things and almost never fix anything till you threaten legal or say you aren't renewing the lease.

They claimed, we do not have black mold in Texas..... It was making me sick in the couple of weeks or so I was stuck living there while I moved out. Wellington Apartments I could hear my neighbors just about anytime they were moving & half a dozen of my neighbors or so LOVED to let their stupid dogs bark all through the NIGHT!!!! Arg!! I do not care for dogs like some, so this was a HUGE negative. Desert Shadows Apartments I have lived here once before, loved it both times!! Carpet is worn looking & some other things are not in the best condition. But it is not bad & it is mold free, flood free, & very reasonably, & I do not hear my neighbors EVER!! Oh, and, the AC works well & it is well insulated with washer/dryer hook ups!! I live on the bottom floor. They are remodeling the parking lot for more space right now, almost done!! It is looking good!!!! But now I am moving out. Lol Anytime I have had any major issues they took care of them promptly!

They're financially sketchy and don't know anything about tenant laws, let alone military federal…read moreregulations. They swore up and down they could charge us months of extra rent until they heard from our lawyers and they caved immediately. The property is run down and the price for their washing machines (that never even work) is insane. We were spending $10-$15 in laundry per week for 2 people due to their machines not working or washing correctly. The place is full of dog poop that doesn't get picked up for weeks and the pool year round it's disgusting.

Before I even moved in, the complex was having issues, the pipe burst in the master bathroom,…read morecausing the bathroom to be in need of remodeling, and pushing back my move in date. The complex tried to illegally terminate my lease with no written notices. They even went above Texas law and wrote into their lease that they can take back your unit for whatever reason they like, even unnecessary cosmetic renovations. They harassed me about moving into a unit almost $300 more a month in person and over the phone. I had to find an attorney for myself, and they kept changing their notice deadlines, until finally they terminated my lease in January. Originally, my move out date was March 6th, but they went ahead and changed it to March 1st without notifying me. And then, they charged me extra days of rent in my security deposit after I moved out, and had to fix it 4 times before they finally got it right. And then, they wrote out the check wrong, making it to where I can't deposit it. Manager and employees have been extremely passive aggressive throughout the entire ordeal. Not to mention the massive roach infestation throughout the complex that was not taken care of, the entire 6-7 months I lived there. Anything that needed to be down, I had to email/call multiple times to get fixed. I definitely do not recommend living here

We lived at the Quadrangle Apartments for 8 months and it was a very negative experience for us…read more You are better off paying a little more in rent than the headache of living at the Quadrangle. We have rented a lot of apartments in our time due to moving around for work and we have never experienced this type of nightmare. We searched online and rented this place sight unseen (big mistake, but we were moving from across the country). We sent our deposit and received confirmation the week before our move.. Our movers were all set for the agreed upon date so we called the Quadrangle the day before and the new manager did not have our paperwork and did not know who we were. He told us to come look at the 2 available units that day. We got there and both units had major issues, but one would be available in a day or two. We still waited over a week to move in while having already paid rent (we were now paying for a hotel and to store our furniture). We moved in and it took over a month to get a response to issues that were supposed to be taken care of before we moved in. We had to fix many things ourselves as the complex did not respond to maintenance issues like when our kitchen sink backed up. We went through 4 different property managers while we were there and we were not sure who to pay rent to at one point. The pool was not clean while we were there so it was not usable. The complex advertised Internet included with rent, but we had to pay for our own. Most of the neighbors had moved out due to all the issues there and the few people moving in were a bit sketchy. To be fair- the property manager when we left seemed to be doing a good job at trying to turn things around. We also received our full security deposit back. We liked having a designated parking spot and a balcony. The location is also really nice. Overall, there seemed to be so much turnover and miscommunication that it was not a positive experience. We would not recommend living here and we were relieved when we left.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!…read more We have a lease that ends on the 9th (today is the 7th) of September. I turned in my key early when I paid our prorated rent for the month, but my husband still had his and the mail key. Today, we stopped by to check the mail and do a walk-thru to make sure we hadn't forgotten anything. Well, we scared the crap out of a couple who'd moved in either yesterday or today!!! We asked them if they lived there now and told them we still had a lease for the next few days. They were pretty shocked and we were irate. I cannot believe how this place is run. And for the record, they're now on the 6th apartment manager in the last three months. Also, bugs and lizards are pretty much an everyday problem and sketchy people seem to move in daily. I'm thankful we got out when we did and I've made it my mission to let people know how awful this place is! For the love of all other things rentable, don't sign a lease here! You never know who might still have a lease on your unit (not to mention keys!).

Things are improving and I don't think the good is shared as much as the bad. I lived at River Ranch for a year and it was the best place I have lived since moving away from home. Furnished apartment rooms, great amenities. I appreciated the gated community that it was. Close enough to ASU campus that I didn't have to use a ton gas trying to get class, 3 min drive. Maintenance is always working on things and with the amount of apartments that they have, the best thing is to be understanding of the wait time. I sometimes had to wait longer than I wanted but the workers were helpful and understanding and always apologized for the wait time even if it wasn't that long. I had to move out because of a roommate issue, not anything related to the staff or the apartment complex. Over the year that I had been there I noticed a big change in the management and how the complex presented themselves. They have completely new management now. The new property manager is Maryann and the property couldn't have anyone better. She was so helpful, caring and understanding to my situation. She is also really good at getting the other staff members to promote activities with the residents that are things from prizes with contests or free items to celebrate a national holiday. Maryann is awesome to talk to! Sadly the best agent that I went to for help at the complex was Savannah and she is no longer there but the new staff is understanding and does a great job of getting info out to residents.
