This has been a problem since the very first week i moved in, which has lead to moldy belongings and an unusable closet. Management doesn't care and wants to raise rent. Yesterday maintenance was over looking at the foundation and I mention how the main bedroom air duct vent leaks air from outside causing room to be at least 5 degrees cooler than the unit set temperature on the thermostat. System fault that they provided is it my fault? Unpermitted entry: Management will give you "at least" 24-hour notice before they send someone into your unit, but they won't tell you when. This 24-hour notice could be a day before or a week before, and notice is like "We will have the contractors here on Tuesday and Wednesday". This notice entitles them to enter your unit whenever they want. Security Deposit Refund: After 60 days since move-out, nothing was received, no statement, no check, no letter. Management reported "the first check may have been lost in the mail. A new check was cut and mailed yesterday". Perhaps you can find other reviews saying the same. This place was the worst experience I've ever had living in an apartment complex. I stayed in the "corporate housing" last summer which essentially is run like a hotel. You pick how many days and they put you in a fully furnished apartment for the time. It is pretty expensive roughly 3600 a month and what i got was a joke. Water damage all over the apartment. Air conditioner leaked into my apartment creating puddles throughout the room. Also, there was mold in the closets. On top of all of this I did absolutely nothing wrong to the place and they didn't give me back ANY of my security deposit. Please read these reviews and take them seriously. Living in this community has been an absolute nightmare. The number of issues with the management is too extensive to list, but here are the most significant problems: The units are old, with outdated appliances and minimal maintenance. Because of this, I frequently have to request repairs, which take an unreasonable amount of time to address. When repairs are finally made, the maintenance team often leaves a mess behind, showing a complete lack of respect. The manager dismisses these complaints and instead labels me as the problem for expecting basic standards of cleanliness and organization. More disturbing is the behavior of the maintenance staff. One employee persistently harassed me by inviting me out and adding me on Facebook. Despite reporting this, no action was taken, and he remains employed here. To make matters worse, during a recent visit to the office to address ongoing issues, I was treated unprofessionally by the assistant manager, who yelled at me and refused to listen. The latest incident involved a malfunctioning front door lock. I spent over 20 minutes trying to get inside my apartment and submitted a maintenance request immediately. A week has passed, and the issue remains unresolved, forcing me to leave my door unsecured. When I brought this to the manager's attention, she dismissed my concerns, suggesting we consider terminating the lease. I agreed, but when I asked about my security deposit, her response was evasive. HERE IS THE MANAGER OF THIS COMMUNITY RESPONSE TO ME, YESTERDAY 12/07/24. The manager's response to my concerns was unprofessionally dismissive and sarcastic. She implied that everything with me is always a problem and suggested, in a condescending tone, that it seems like I no longer want to live here. According to her, the best solution for ALL THE PARTIES would be for me to move out. She asked me to send an email, promising to "expedite the process, with her manager" but her tone suggested little interest in resolving the situation fairly. When I stated that I expect my full deposit to be returned, her response was vague and evasive, giving no clear commitment. I then informed her that any further communication would come from my lawyer, to which she responded, "I will be happy to answer you." Her response only added to the frustration and showed a lack of professionalism and respect. It was especially expecting that someone from BEZTAK, the management company, was aware of the ongoing issues in the community. Several resident reviews also point to the same problems--repeated requests for maintenance that the management office fails to handle properly, and maintenance staff entering units with minimal regard for cleanliness. It's clear that the manager either cannot or will not manage these issues effectively. Her suggestion that I leave is another violation, you asked that to a resident that not pay rent or make a violation to the contract, I am just asking for my rights as a resident, I want to her to proof why should I leave. As a paying resident, I deserve more respect, and the manager should be held accountable for her unprofessional and rude behavior. I want to move from this horrible place? Off course YES, but I need my security deposit back. Do yourself a favor and stay away. Renting here is nothing short of a nightmare. If you're currently a resident of this community and are dissatisfied with the management, I am seeking legal assistance and would like to connect with others who feel the same. Cannot recommend Beztak Saddle Creek Apartments in Novi for a home apartment. (1) Riddled (repeat, riddled) with insect/pest issues since commencement of occupancy: carpenter ants; centipedes-or-are-they-millipedes (NB I am not an entomologist) on rug and walls; earwigs; traditional and multiple types of long-legged spiders; beetles (believe the 'app' identified as "big-headed beetles); pill bugs and an assortment of other insects I have yet to identify. (2) Note: When keys to the unit were turned over to me, I found the rug stained and filthy and apartment filthy. No professional cleaning had been done since previous tenant vacated; and, baseboard woodwork in poor condition(cracked and not touched up). Property management replaced the carpeting and cleaned the unit: from my perspective, an approximate 87% improvement after management's cleaning -- i.e. habitable but I sensed I had made a mistake renting from Beztak Saddle Creek. Note too, after management's intervention (cleaning), I still had to clean dirt from widow-and-patio tracks (see photo of state of patio door tracks - doesn't food attract insects?). I still had to clean the baked on gunk on the oven's two grates. Reported that the unit's dilapidated furnace door was unlocked-open, i.e., broken, hanging off one hinge and chipmunks were going into the furnace room. (3) Management's response to the hideous insect problem intimates that extermination/pesticide treatment is a regular facet of life at Saddle Creek. Note: Management did not respond to my request to know in advance the name of what pesticide product was going to be used to inside my unit. I had to ask the pesticide man when he showed up. (I had hauled all my food to my car earlier to avoid any potential contamination). I believe tenants should be given a copy of the pesticide product safety sheet automatically - without having to ask. I found it available on the internet after the fact. (Me - yes I have concerns.) NOTES: I sleep with my bed a foot away from wall as the insects seem to head for HVAC registers and woodwork. (Just saying: Would anyone appreciate beetles and long-legged spiders at their bed's head or centipedes crawling on the walls and floor while they sleep?). I barely cook in response to spiders and carpenter ants on my counter tops while trying to prepare food). I do not find remediation by pesticide treatment acceptable (particularly if this requires repeated application). I do not think I am the first occupant to experience this issue. Note the accumulation of insects by the furnace register during the first week after pesticide treatment inside the unit: these were not carcasses. The front door does not seem to be weatherized as I have too often found leaf debris, insects and spiders next to it. Not my job to figure out what existing issues with the property has created such ripe conditions for such an array of insects. I have informed management that I might as well be living in a tent in the woods given the size of the problem. In my opinion, somehow potential rental-applicants should be apprised in advance - to make an informed decision -- if pesticide treatment is a standard work order request. I do Not recommend Saddle creek They do not take care of the property in the winter. we have to get our own salt and shovel. The apartments are not move in ready they are dirty. The manager will hide in her office when something is wrong. The rent goes up by a few hundred when it's time to renew your lease. The water is leaking through the walls causing mold and all we got was a email apologizing. Don't forget building 1-10 are on a different power grid and lose power if the wind blows hard. If something breaks in your apartment it takes weeks to get it fixed. read more

TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! The worst living experience by far. From the overpriced floor plans, the roof caving in during bad stormy weather, bee hives that go unattended after calling about them for months!!!!!! Just a money hungry establishment that don't care about shit but collecting their cashier checks from everyone on the 1st of the month. A residence that will mark the streets/sidewalks with different color paint throughout the year but quick to email residents about kids using chalk on the ground. For the amount of money they receive monthly for the terrible square footage, you would assume this place would have an area for kids to run around and be free but instead the kids use the streets/lawns as their playground ( DANGEROUS ) During the pandemic they showed no signs of remorse. Still will constantly email you about paying the rent/issue you late fees after the government signed off on the extended period at the time. I stayed at this place for 2 years and the little time I was there, IT WAS NO CHANGES!!!!!!!! Just do a great job at making sure the landscaping is on point every 2-3 days lol.....literally will have a landscape company come out every 3 days to make sure the outside part of the establishment look appealing but don't think twice to make changes inside the place Then don't let you want to move out. If you don't re-sign with them once your lease is up, they will automatically throw you in the 6mo rate, which is the highest rent rate they have. I didn't resign my lease and when I look at my account, I see I owe basically double my normal amount, which is crazy!!!!! I doubt any of their units are over 1,000 sq ft and you'll be paying $1500 a month for that. No space, no garage, not kid friendly, bee hives, etc. Just a bunch of emails about problems within the community and when they're going to be refilling the cracks every year in the cement. You can make 23 on time payments and if payment 24 is a week late because of a pandemic , they will threaten you to go to court lol......I wouldn't recommend this place to nobody!!!!!!!! Just don't do it. They increase your potential rent by like $10 every day you don't sign after viewing it. We moved in to literal dog shit on our porch that a maintenance guy picked up and told us the rest "will wash away when it rains." That should've been a sign. Our experience there was terrible. The main road in the complex is probably the worst in metro Detroit despite constant inconvenient construction on it. Thin walls, rude staff, excuse after excuse and to top it all off they are trying to finesse us for an additional 500. We moved out two months early because we were that unhappy there, we gave them over 60 DAYS NOTICE because that's what they ask for yet we're still being charged for the unit even when they are clearly in it preparing it for another tenant, won't go through the whole story but I have been trying to get an explanation of how we owe anything for a few weeks now and I keep getting the same contradictory answer from their "property manager". Refuse to put me in contact with corporate and is now threatening to send me to collections. Again, don't do it. We thought the model looked nice and we were in a time crunch but we were very unhappy and realized it was a mistake within the first month. read more

Read below. Regarding the property management: -You will not receive notices for things such as water shut offs for repairs, construction in the parking lots, and maintenance on facilities such as the pool or tennis courts. They will mishandle your accounts and emails, they delete things such as payment information without your consent, charge to add your payment information back in for rent payments. -Our apartment was NOT properly cleaned, the previous tenant allowed their dog to relieve themselves on the porch, at the time of our move in there were dog feces on our porch; I notified the complex to ask someone to come and bleach/clean it. They picked it up angrily and said "have a good day." -The roads are in terrible condition, do not believe the photos you see, as they are photoshopped (you can see cause there is no curb in the photo below) Next to that are actual photos of the complex, NOT SAFE AT ALL. -The property is not well kept, construction all the time, dead grass everywhere, the pavement has about 12in wide sink holes (see photos). The funny part: the complex sent an email asking residents to not leave their bikes haphazardly through the complex cause aesthetically it looks bad. -No sidewalks, people drive FAST -They claimed we did not have renters history and we would need to pay the maximum, we have been living on our own for over 10+years, and using the same system as before, had we not pushed back and told them this we would be paying much much more! **NOTE: the community is heavily populated with kids, some of the things in the parking lots etc are very unsafe for them (see photos)** Regarding the apartment: -Terrible thin walls, I have had shelves and frames fall out despite saying its a stud. -Cheap cheap cheap, yet charge you an arm and a leg -Because the apartment is older, insulation not great so expect a very high energy bill -I will say that the maintenance and the neighbors are great. -No mailbox to send mail out -No conveniently placed trash receptacles; expect to walk a ways if you aren't in the building next to them -No recycling; drive it to the city recycling -Very SMALL, no storage, on top of paying astronomical rent you will have to get a storage unit Overall, I would not recommend this location. I've lived at SaddleCreek Apartments for almost five years now and have to say that my experience here has been great. The leasing office (especially Jeff) has been excellent to work with and very accommodating when I call for requests such as maintenance, lease renewal, or paperwork. The maintenance team is good too, on time when they say they will arrive and get the work done once without having to come back multiple times. They are always looking to improve the facility too which I like a lot. Especially the tennis courts which are my favorite and probably one of the best in Novi. read more

My realtor called Saddle Creek and set up an appointment for an apartment visit the week before I came down from Chicago to Michigan. After a five hour drive from Chicago to Michigan the leasing associates told us that they would not be able to honor the appointment we had made a week prior because they had owners visiting. Despite us telling them we had driven so far to see an apartment, they refused to let us just visit for even a few minutes. When we came in the owners were just sitting around a table in the lounge area. My realtor, saying she had never heard of something like this, asked if Saddle Creek along with it's owners would prefer to turn away potential business with a bad taste in their mouths after driving a long way, rather than just letting me see the apartment. They responded with a quick, terse, yes. They said that I could come back at 4, two hours after my scheduled appointment. Needless to say, we did not go back because anywhere that does not respect potential tenants, will most likely not respect actual tenants. read more

This place is SHADY! If you value your hard earned money, your privacy or your sanity you may want to look elsewhere for residence. First off this place has absolutely terrible insulation and the door and window jams are loose allowing your heat to escape in the winter and air conditioning to escape in the summer. Furthermore, if someone wants to break in to your apartment it probably wouldn't take more than a screwdriver. I considered adding additional locks but didn't want to be charged by management. The security on their doors is shabby at best and almost faulty. Second, people here don't seem to clean up after their animals regularly so you may likely step in a steaming pile at some point. Next the maintenance, they don't seem to be punctual and on occasion they let themselves into your apartment without your permission or knowledge. Lastly, the management seems to enjoy causing it's residents aggravation and they do so with a smirk on their face and an audible chuckle coming from the employees in the back room. It almost seems like they believe they're above scrutiny. I would recommend this place to no one. You've been warned. read more

I lived at Saddle Creek for a total of eight years and have to say the last five, once a new maintenance supervisor was hired, far outweighed the first three! The supervisor, Randy Moylan, changed the environment completely! There was never a time where I put in a request for service that it was not taken care of within 24 hours. No matter how enormous the task, he never walked away from the job until it was one hundred percent complete and to one hundred percent satisfaction! The grounds, building aesthetics, and overall morale at Saddle Creek was in need of a desperate boost and with the new hire, the complex made a total 180 degree improvement. I would certainly recommend a move in to Saddle Creek just for the positive enhancement he and his personally-trained team made. read more

For 2 months we had a 1st floor unit reserved only to find out that the previous tenant was not moving out. The complex could not find us another unit on the main level. I requested our deposits back since there was not another unit available & we had just closed on our house. They decided to even keep part of our refundable deposits as well. This situation ended with one of their representatives, Katie, hanging up on me after she said there was nothing else they could do. After reading the negative reviews I unfortunately have to agree with everything they mentioned. We have unfortunately been going through hell with management to get simple repairs finished. Also when notifying management of issues you can expect one of two things (either of which will be preceded by being informed someone will contact you shortly) 1) maintenance will simply show up knock once and come on in even if you don't answer because you happen to be engaging in some adult time with your significant other. After you send them away any delays in the repair not being completed timely will be completely blamed on you for not allowing them to come in when they were ready and it was convenient for them. 2) you will wait up to 9 days for a rude email addressing your concern, telling you what day and time the "contractor" will be there and informing you that you can't be present because the fumes will be so strong. (Oh and no offer to reimburse for the hotel we stayed at because our shower couldn't be used for 48 hours) It took almost 5 months to get a small cosmetic issue that unfortunately turned into a health one due to the fact mold likes to grow where water stands in bathrooms. The first "contractor" made it worse , the second guy who I honestly believe was an outside person remarked what a crap job the previous people had done. Bottom line way too much money to pay for such mediocre accommodations, wish we had just rented a much larger home for what we paid. read more

Would not recommend these apartments especially if you have kids. Firstly before we even lived here we signed a contract for an apartment then weeks before we were suppose to move in they told us the current residence decided not to move out. They had no other apartments available for the time frame we needed and when asking for our money back them saying we would get nothing back because we signed a contract. Yeah you're right we did sign a contract and you don't hold your end to it. After finding a new move in date and apartment in the complex we have MAJOR issues with bees in our apartment!!! It's seriously so annoying worrying about bees when you have an infant and they won't do anything about it. They call their pest control but it's not helping at all. Well, at first look these apartments seem great. In the warm months the landscaping is beautiful, there are 2 ponds, lots of trees and green grass. Nice clean parking lots and a covered spot for each apartment. The pool is nice and clean and there are not too many kids that use it so you can relax in peace and quiet. The gym is a nice added bonus but in the winter people cannot follow the sign that says to change shoes before using their equipment so half the time the treadmills are broke because of salt that has got into them. Now, upon further inspection you will find that the beautiful grass is filled with dog poo because a lot of the residents with dogs do not clean up after them. When I was moving out we had to lay cardboard over the dog bombs so my friends would not step in crap. 4 piles in about a 30 foot stretch from my door to the truck. As for the apartment, there is no insulation and the windows and doors leak air, you can expect a high electric/gas bill in the coldest of winter and the hottest of summer. The apartments are old and have been painted and patched to make them look better, everything in them screams "CHEAP". Stove top was crooked, one burner didn't get as hot as the others, tiles falling off the bathroom shower, one shower would not get water as hot as the other shower, wasp problem that was never resolved, I could go on and on. And those are not even the real problems, the real problem is the management! Very unprofessional !! One time a maintenance man entered my apartment when my teenage daughter was home by herself, he had read the work order wrong and entered the wrong apartment. The apartments have big numbers on the side of the door, there is no way that type of mistake should have been made and when I called to voice my concern they pretty much blew me off. I am NOT ok with a man entering my home with my daughter inside ! Also, I wanted to do a walk through when I moved out to inspect wear and tear on the apartment, they said sure no problem let us know a day ahead of time. Well I did and that's when they told me "we can't do walk throughs on saturday" This was noon Friday and I had errands to run, totally messed up my schedule. They also require a 60 day notice of termination, I turned it in Feb 4, saying I would be out Mar 31. Well they didn't bother to tell me I might as well keep my keys till April 5, because they prorated 5 days ($105.00) and took it out of my security deposit. They should have told me I was paying for that place for an additional 5 days when they took my keys. Oh yea, we also had a problem with break ins that they didn't bother telling anyone about... found out from my neighbors. Soooo.... the moral of this story.... MURDER in SADDLE CREEK APARTMENT! A man who lived here was shot and killed in the yard of his apartment. There is no security here. Please read the reviews of Pepper, Joseph & Joe B! I completely agree with them. The management is the biggest problem here. I have never lived anywhere where the staff is so unconcerned about their tenants. I could list many examples of my experience as well as that of my neighbors. But suffice to say that I absolutely would NEVER recommend S.C. to anyone. Maintenance is very poorly managed and they never listen to the residents even after several complaints. Not recommended for Family as you might ended up spending too much time. I recently moved into Saddle Creek and I absolutely love the staff! Everyone was very helpful with my move from out of state and helped me to quickly get familiar with the area. The location of the property rocks, it is right down the road from 12 oaks mall and there is a ton of night life in the area. My apartment was renovated before I moved in, everything was very nice and super clean. The property is very quiet, I love that they are pet friendly there is a ton of space for me to walk my dog. Some of the residents are not that great about picking up after their pets but if you let the office know they will take care of it! read more

I don't even want to select even a half a star for this establishment! They will take their application fee of $550 act as if they're only going to lose $50 if you're denied but they keep $150! And they deny you before you even get a chance to completely fill out the app and send proof of your income... they just go to the next applicant after taking $150 from you. I work in retail filled out an app paid my $550 after being told I would only lose $50 if I didn't get excepted I was so busy over the holidays I didn't get the information to them as fast as they wanted it so before I knew what happen they denied me before getting all my information!! I moved in the Saddlecreek apartments in Novi this last September of 2016. My experience has been great! Everyone in the office is really helpful and nice. Especially, Dawn has been very helpful. All I had to do was email her with whatever question and I received a prompt response. I love that I pay my rent by text! They have a email newsletter which is nice with tips and upcoming events. My neighbors are friendly and the maintenance has been great when I had to use them. They are all really nice and fix the issue in a respectable time. I would definitely recommend Saddlecreek as your next home. read more

This place is horrible! Aside from the old and disgusting apartments that they do not keep clean or updated, the leasing office staff are rude and unorganized. They lost our papers (due to staff turnover apparently) saying we would move out and proceeded to charge us an additional month and a half even after we had turned our keys in! DO NOT RENT HERE! I just moved out of Saddle Creek apartments after my one year stay. I can say location wise, inside Apartment and maintenance staff are good, but some how I felt they don't care residents much. Once due to heavy wind storm, may trees in our apartment fell down so Apt mgt engaged contracting company to clean the stuff. I parked my car in my designated parking car port and when I am about to go office in the morning, I noticed a dent on my car door at the same time they are pulling out all big logs taking out with vehicle just next to my car(very close). I asked them but they said they didn't do it, I went and complained to leasing office. That is the first time I noticed that dent, I believe they only did it as they the one working very close to my car pulling all big logs. To cut story short, leasing office said they are not responsible for contracting agency and I had deal with them. I called and complained to them, but after couple of weeks they said I had to deal with leasing office. with all back n forth, leasing office said they can not do anything as I don't have any proof to prove and they believe what contracting agency says not resident. As it is not a big damage, I didn't care much but followed up to see what response I get from management. The response which I got from front office representative is so un professional, that is moment I felt they don't care whatever happens to residents. Still I didn't understand how can they don't take responsibility to make sure whoever they are contracting with are right people to work in the property and safe to residents. I felt this is not the safe place for me to live and move on...I didn't feel welcomed when I spoke with front office representative after that couple of more interactions (just general discussion though), so I was more unhappy with service. So disappointing. First of all, we were sort of rushed to sign a lease because we were told they couldn't hold the unit we wanted for more than 10 days. Then when I requested to see the actual unit before we signed the lease, they told us that they don't allow it. Well, now I see why! Upon getting suckered into signing my lease and receiving my keys, I went and did a quick walk through and took a look at the apartment. To my major disappointment, the appliances they show you in the model unit were NOT what was in my apartment. These appliances are about 20 years old. Then the place was DIRTY! There was still a clothing tag on the floor in the front closet, toilets and floors were dirty. They did however paint the walls and there is fresh new carpet. To me, this is NOT move in ready and you would think for the amount they are charging for monthly rent, they would have updated cabinets and appliances.
