The academic program is outstanding. Both of myboys earned scholarships to top Catholic high schools!, but what makes SFA special is how they balance learning with heart. The community here is warm and tight-knit. Kids aren't just taught math or reading, they're taught kindness, respect, love, compassion and how to be good people. My sons thrived in this environment, making good friends and teachers who felt like mentors. And the parents from the school are always nice and helping each other to look after each other's kids. Most importantly, SFA prepared them brilliantly for high school. The transition was seamless, and their scholarships are proof of how well the school equips kids academically and emotionally. They walked into high school confident, organized, and ready to lead--all thanks to SFA's foundation. If you want a school that cares as much about your child's character as their grades, this is it. This is difficult to do in any school but SHP teaches that "your SHP brothers are actually family. It is obvious that the students have true concern for one another (even if they don't know that brother personally). Alumni seem to feel so much like SHP was their home that they never forget about the brotherhood & continue to introduce themselves if they see anything that makes them feel like the student or adult must have some tie to the school. There are so many clubs & sports available. Students have so many different types of opportunities to find "their tribe". The students truly enter as boys and leave as self confident educated men. The education is second to none with many different areas of study. The discipline must be just right b/c the boys all are well mannered, decent people that learn very quickly how to advocate for themselves. In addition, they are required to learn & participate in volunteer work yearly by assisting their fellow man with no judgement. Their values become incredibly strong. Granatell Athletic Stadium by Just Jersey Festival inside a 35-acre park-like campus of Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey. This event is a benefit for Don Bosco Fathers Club and features 17 gourmet food trucks, music from DJ Louis, beer and pony rides, a petting zoo, and a bounce house for children. We managed to grab a culinary taste of mac and cheese, eggplant parmesan garlic knot slider, skirt steak sandwich and coleslaw (Argentina), ground beef lomo style empanada (Peru), and peanut butter cup cupcake.
