As we walked in the friendly owners offered us a sample of a fresh donut and pointed to the chalk board for the menu. There isn't a huge variety of menu items but that's good because a small cafe can't make dozens of different dishes and make them all good (or affordable). You can order soup, sandwiches, wraps, and lots of different pastries because it is a bakery cafe after all. We both ordered the breakfast sandwich. It's a lot bigger than it looks. There were certainly two eggs in each sandwich and maybe even three plus some ham and sauces. On this extremely hot July day the cafe's air conditioning was just what we needed. We did order coffee on this hot day because we hadn't had our coffee fix yet today. The coffee was very good. If you are looking for breakfast or lunch or just a treat to go, I recommend Shekinah. Oh and there are lots of tables too.

Stopped by The Grind for a quick visit and can definitely see why it's such a local hot spot --…read morethere was steady foot traffic the whole time we were there! Despite being busy, the wait for food wasn't bad at all, and the café had plenty of staff who were all very friendly and welcoming. We ordered their famous carrot cake, a hot chocolate, coffee, and two everything bagels with cream cheese, which came to $29.80 -- pretty reasonable for a café stop. The food itself was good and satisfying, even if not something I'd necessarily write home about. I'd be really interested in coming back to try their sandwiches next time when we have more time to stay. The atmosphere is cozy and a little cluttered in a charming way, with lots of things to look at that give the space personality. Overall, a nice spot for a casual coffee break or quick bite while in Hinton!

The egg was really dry. Kind of like it was frozen and then microwaved. My husband got a bagel with cream cheese for $5.75. It was mediocre at best. Would have rather gone to Tim Hortons. The pumpkin muffin was good but overall not happy with the misleading advertising and overpriced low quality food.

We recently visited Rojo Marrón and had a really great experience overall!…read more We ordered the fish tacos, beef street tacos, and the "Espropapa" (definitely not spelling that right ). The Espropapa was honestly a standout -- absolutely delicious. The chipotle dip that came with it was AMAZING, and the presentation was a 10/10. The potato was sliced into a spiral and served on a stick, which made it both fun and visually impressive. The fish tacos were also excellent. They were cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and topped with fresh vegetables. The chipotle mayo sauce paired with them was sooo good and really brought everything together. The beef street tacos were still very good and not dry at all, but compared to the other dishes they were slightly underwhelming. Still enjoyable, just overshadowed by how strong the other items were. Service was great -- our server was friendly, loved to chat, and checked in on us regularly without being overbearing. They even brought out a bucket of different sauces labeled with spice levels, which was a fun touch and let us customize the heat. The decor was very Mexican-themed and added a lot of character to the space. The tables looked a bit worn, but honestly it added to the overall style and vibe rather than taking away from it. Overall, a really enjoyable meal with great flavours, fun presentation, and welcoming service. Definitely worth a visit!

Made a a face at my order (Yes - I'm not a straight-up-coffee drinker. Otherwise I'd have been at TH) and clearly appeared inconvenienced to be making coffee this morning. Day 2: No barista and a sign saying to help yourself to coffee from carafe. I have stopped at this Starbucks a multitude of times and can count the positive experiences on one hand. Sadly, it is the last/first Starbucks West of there for several hundred KM's. 2 stars for at least thinking to put out the carafes.
