This is an absolutely beautiful 3-bedroom home equipped with everything you can think of for a good time: full kitchen, dining area, patio with BBQ grill, fire pit, plenty of tables and chairs, and we even saw hammocks hanging on some trees! The rooms can be individually booked, or you can book all three for your friends and family. The home sits on a vineyard, so you get to taste their delicious wines. In the dining/living room area, you have access to games and a projector that is connected to Apple TV, so you can project a movie on the wall! How cool is that?! DANIEL gave us the best wine-tasting experience we have ever had. His explanations were thorough and very interesting. It went beyond the "peppery notes with hints of berries" descriptions you usually get at wineries. He explained the winemaking process because he has done it all, from planting grapes to making wine. And he was very kind and patient with all of our questions. And up the hill a little bit there is another home that they rent as well, and if it is vacant, you get full access to the pool! Another thing I appreciated now during covid is that the entire home was very clean! No carpet in the rooms (which makes it feel instantly cleaner already), the sheets smelled of fresh laundry detergent, and the shower was spotless. The rooms also have beautiful wooden patios. And then in the morning, we got a delicious hot breakfast by Gunay! She was so sweet and hospitable. On a sad note, they no longer have the llamas or sheep. But it is still a great experience! Also, don't be scared when you are following the GPS to arrive here! It's literally in the middle of no where! My family has been going up to Clear Lake since the 70's. I haven't been able to get up there as…read moremuch as I'd like, but was able to spend a couple post-Christmas days at the lake house with my wife and in-laws. My sister, who gets to the lake far more often than I do, recommended Stonehouse Cellars as a spot to visit... I'm in the wine business - been in wine retail and hospitality for over 20 years - so I know good service and hospitality when I experience it. I can say that we had an amazing visit at Stonehouse. The tasting room is fantastic - beautifully designed and appointed - very welcoming and comfortable. Has amazing views. We were there on a cold & rainy day and so were not able to walk the grounds or sit outside, but I looks like a great place to hang out, rain or shine. The wines were also very impressive. We shared 3 flights and got a few extra pours, so we tasted 15-20 wines. I was most impressed by the Cabernets. What I enjoyed the most was doing the Cab flight, which allows you to taste 4 Cabs side by side that were aged in different types of oak. Very informative! What made the visit so special, though, was our hostess, Heather. She was friendly, welcoming and amazingly knowledgable about, not only the winery and wines, but the history of the area. She wowed us with her passion and knowledge and her multi-faceted talents - pastry chef, scientist, opera singer - all rolled into one. She brought all these skills to the table (pun intended) during our tasting visit. She even allowed us to check out one of the guest rooms - highly recommended. As a parting gift, she sang us a song - in Italian! We had a choice between Italian or French - went with Italian. Is there anything Heather can't do?? What a memorable visit! We'll be back and highly recommend you visit as well.

Got to chat all about Nebraska and how his family ended up here making wine. What an interesting story. Kendall is a true renaissance man. Soon a group of friends and some wine members joined us. Had a lovely chat with everyone and got recommendations on hikes, restaurants, etc. And I got super lucky- It's restaurant week in town! The area is gorgeous. The tasting room is lovely especially with all of Kendall's stained glass artwork. The outdoor patio is super welcoming and if it hadn't been a cold/windy day sitting outside would have been awesome. I'm told that in the summer they have Thursday night parties with food/music etc which sounds amazing. And they serve a Frose in the summer. Can't recommend this place more. I have been a member of this "Ladies who Lunch who Love Fine Wine" for 15 years and I was so humiliated. So, lesson learned. I called Mitch, the owner of Hawk & Horse and he did NOT offer any suggestions. I ordered a 2022 bottle and it had the same problem. Mitch is too cheap to sell his "fine & over priced wine" with a proper cork. Forger the 4K I spent with supporting a small business owner (only 13 acres) I will never get over the humiliation from these women who trusteed me.
