    Poke

This was the 1st stop after we landed in Kona. It's a little run down when you walk in, but Reddit told us the poke here is just as good as everywhere else. It absolutely didn't disappoint. There's literally a million kind of poke and you can try samples. The ladies behind the counter were super nice and welcoming. They know exactly what the most popular things are and will tell you what pairs well together. If you're in a pinch or in a budget, it's hard to beat the 2-protein $10.99 poke bowl.

Come here for the poke bar, beware of the other food. Bought some sealed, new, not expired pack of cheese. When we opened the cheese for our picnic, half of the cheese slices contained a large amount of mold. Also got a package of pork rinds that were stale. The poke bar was the only decent thing about this place. But I don't think I will be back. If their packaged food is that stale/bad, I'm worried about the freshness of the poke.

Scratch the indoor or outdoor dining experience, ask for some chopsticks at the cash register, and head to the park or beach with your poke. Pay between $23-26 per pound and select from at least six different types of fresh poke at the Sack N Save seafood counter. The fish is not cut as fine as Da Poke Shack and the chunks are not consistent in size, but the flavor is spot on and delicious. If you are like us and want to have poke most every day but your budget cannot take the expense, try getting your poke at the local supermarket. They also are a wide variety of traditional sides (macaroni salad, edamame, etc.). @sturdygirlstyle #sturdygirlstyle

Went there to get some Poke for dinner, bought Furikake Ahi, Shrimp poke, Crab poke & Edamame, The crab meat was so sweet and just the right spiciness for me, no wonder there was a long line at around 6:00 pm

Sack N Save poke was the best we had on the island. We loved the shoyu ahi the best. A large poke bowl is perfect to share between 2 people. Loved how fresh the fish was.

This is your place to get a really fantastically priced poke bowl!!! I was so happy to have a fresh bowl made and priced out at the counter. I am basing this review strictly off of the poke experience although I did buy a bag of coffee as well. I found the prices to be great and the staff members were so nice. Highly recommend if you want a bowl to go.

Sacked or save? We have a joke about sack n save. Somethings you can find a deal others you might be sacked. There's a Safeway and Walmart close by, so choose wisely. Things you save: the poke! It's good and it's $2 less than Safeway. It's the best. Grab some and go to the beach! The spam masubi are a good deal too and good! Beats some restaurants. Things you get sacked on: the styrofoam cooler. It's twice the price here compared to Walmart and Safeway. You'll also get sacked on alcohol. Better to go Walmart for that. We still like it here because of the poke! Can't beat it.

Sack n Save is managed and owned by Foodland and basically each store is somehow similar. Came here for some snacks and water throughout our Kona venture. Aisles are packed with goodies - locally & internationally. Their produce is pretty good but not a lot of choices. The store was pretty clean and neat. They got limited choices of deli though. Staffs are just okay, not the kindest. Well, I guess what's important is that you got the things you need from here. Checkout and go, let's all be straightforward especially in the middle of pandemic! Mahalo for reading & happy juandering fellow yeeps.

Not my favorite super market in Kona. Kind of rundown and prices seemed a tick higher than others. Don't think I'll be back.

Nice place. Great products. Killer Poke counter area. Kind of pricey though. Related to Foodland I think.

I asked her about and she said "credit card charge," with no further explanation. I'm not sure what type of fruit vendor expects any rational customer to not gently touch a piece of fruit. Avoid this place and find a nicer proprietor. She seemed irrational and rude to tourists. She was sneaky, and could be adding to other customers' bills erroneously. I'm guessing a lot of folks don't notice the difference.

We stopped at Da Poke Shack, but they were unexpectedly closed (see my profile). So we made our way to Pau Hana and I was very surprised! I came around 3:45PM, so their options were limited (which makes total sense, because of fresh fish!) and I wish I had come earlier in the day so I had a wider selection. Fish was very flavorful, and the rice was perfectly sticky. I got the Hawaiian style Ahi (I wish I had come earlier to try the salmon) and the octopus (not too rubbery, but just a bit tough), with imitation crab and edamame. Everything was very well seasoned, flavorful, and fresh. The service was very nice, the employee dishing us up was fast and talkative and wasn't judgmental when I asked if anything I had on my plate would be spicy (I don't do well with spicy food). I really recommend this place if you're in the area! I'm from AZ and I get pokè at least once a month because it's my favorite food, and fish in a land locked state will never be the same as it is on the coast!
