Oh and very organizing with the schedule/billing. I don't know how many times I have changed/added/cancelled. I am glad I signed up my 3 yr old for the lesson. My 3 yr old loves Coach Darin. I see the progress after 6 lessons. I am still trying to work on getting my 2nd girl to take the lesson. She attended two lessons and doesn't want to continue. This has nothing to do with the staff or the facility. If anything, Kristin and Coach Sammie have been awesome. They gave some suggestion and so far, my little one is okay with it. I have signed her up again. :) Thank you SwimLabs team for taking every precaution to keep the facility clean and constant wipe down every touch areas.

At first she was doing great, but there was another child in the class who was much younger and needed a lot more attention. The instructor ended up holding the younger child almost the entire class, and my daughter was basically left standing in the corner being ignored most of the time. By the end of class she started crying, which honestly I think was because she felt ignored and uncomfortable. We tried bringing her back again after that, and now she completely refuses to do the class. She went from loving swim lessons and being excited for the water to now being scared of it. Honestly it feels like the experience traumatized her around water. What made the experience even more frustrating was trying to cancel after this happened and being told we'd still be charged for the rest of the month. Really disappointed overall.

Reach out to her (then again, you would have to submit requests until you get her to respond back- cannot put her email on here). The schedule, my last review covered, has still not been edited (been like two and a half weeks); however, at least progress is being made. I finally was able to give this information to the high school's team mom (coach rep) and get the ball rolling on accurate information! One person definitely makes all the difference (and it does not hurt to help make the business look better as well)! Thanks!

I was immediately impressed with how incredibly clean and well-maintained the facility is--it was clear to me that the owners and coaches take pride in providing a safe and professional training environment. After training there for 2 years now both personally and with my two daughters (7 and 10) I can attest to the fact that the instruction for both adults and kids is world-class. Jeremiah, Dave, Joel, and Julian are highly skilled black belts and have very different approaches to the art of Jiu Jitsu. Refuge has fantastic No Gi coaches as well and I can't say enough good things about Dan, Nick and Gabe. Every instructor at the academy brings a deep level of knowledge to every class, breaking down techniques in a way that's both accessible and effective for all experience levels. Whether you're brand new or more advanced, you'll feel challenged and supported. What really sets this place apart, though, is the atmosphere. It has a genuine, welcoming, family feel where everyone encourages each other to improve. The coaches are patient, disciplined, and genuinely invested in each student's growth--not just as athletes, but as people. If you're looking for a place with elite instruction, a positive community, and a clean, professional environment, this is the place for you and your family.

Very family-friendly (lots of kids!). A variety of courses. I did the 5k one and honestly it's one of the most no-fuss 5k courses that I've done. Fully paved with no major inclines/declines. No way to get lost with the very long straightaways (pretty much running a square). Will also say that there's no shade until halfway into the course; wouldn't recommend long sleeves if you sweat easily. Overall highly recommend for beginner 5kers, or even those who want to do speed run building in general! My only critique of this event is that there's no countdown at the starting point so the gunshot signaling the beginning of the run kinda seems to be a surprise lol. Parking is at Old Sugar Mill with Disneyland-esque parking arrangements (parking attendants guiding where to park). Best to arrive early to beat the parking traffic especially since there's only one lane to enter the lot.

I wasn't fully recovered from the flue but I hung in there for my lovely medal and a breakfast burrito at the finish line. It was quite the drive but a memorable race.
