He notice that our food took way took long and spoke with management. Management gracefully took care of us. They removed 2 item from our main dishes and gave us two free shots on top of that. (Mind you we did not complain about the food being late). Antonio noticed the problem and solved it with management. Thank you both. We greatly appreciate you guys. We order the following: Oyster on the half dozen. I would give it a 7.5/10 The beans were excellent just a touch too slaty (maybe there just that day) but somehow they were eatable but delicious 10/10 The rice was good (texture) but somehow it needs a bit of flavor 7/10 Brazing sarandiado flavors were very good solid 9.5/10 Lamb was very, very tender and flavorful the dish it self was on another level solid 11/10 Review as May 23, 2026 The ambience was perfect. Music volume was good enough to be able to have a conversation and still enjoy the music played in the background. The decor was different and very well lit. Over all I will definitely recommend Casa Playa and ask for Antonio. Highly recommend making reservations before going there or you will wait about an hour if not more of course depending on the time you're going.

While the restaurant appeared to only offer a brunch and dinner menu, we were informed that we could still order off the brunch menu. After putting our names down, we were seated right away. The dining room itself was spacious, and the decor was whimsical and eye catching; vibrant flowers seemed to rain down from the ceiling. Upon being seated, we quickly placed our orders - we shared some chips and guac - and I ordered the frijoles de olla as my main dish. To start off, the chips and guac really hit the spot. The guac was creamy with a slight kick from the sliced peppers, and the chips tasted fresh and homemade. I wasn't as much of a fan of the frijoles de olla; the sauce was too sweet, especially paired with the rich ricotta cheese filling. I think the menu would be strengthened by offering more savory options to cater to the lunch crowd.

The menu is large and the prices are to be envied by any restaurant. The three of us ordered something different and everything was very good. They bring chips and salsa and even refilled it without charging. I regret not taking a picture of my chicken taco salad. I got too excited about eating it. It was huge! I took most of it home. I did notice a sewer smell at the entrance and I'm sure they are aware because they were burning incense. This obviously wasn't their fault. I've noticed it occasionally at other places. Make sure to bring your glasses because some of the print on the menu is very small. I was wishing for bean dip to go with the chips. I didn't check the menu and didn't ask. None of those things will keep us from going back. I highly recommend this restaurant! I can't wait to go back.

The girl working Saturday morning/early afternoon was extremely rude and made us feel unwelcome from the start. We placed a large to go order with items like pancakes and birria, yet no syrup or salsa was included. Normally I'd assume it was just an honest mistake, but combined with the employee's attitude and lack of customer service, it honestly felt careless. Spending nearly $100 on subpar food that couldn't even fully be enjoyed because basic condiments were missing was frustrating. Sad experience overall, and not somewhere I'd return to

It's got a sizable bar area and ample seating in a separate dining area. The nachos are huge and absolutely loaded. I think their salsa is the best in the valley. I am partial to their crispy chicken tacos at lunchtime and I love their carne asada. They have delicious chilies rellenos (the sauce is the comb). And their homemade flour tortillas are something I can't skip when I go. I love it!

Just like all their other locations, there's plenty of seating, the servers are dressed in their traditional cultural clothes, and the food tastes authentic. We started with chips, bean dip, and salsa for the table. The salsa spice was mild and refried bean dip was good. It's the same bean dip you'll get when you order a plate. We ordered the Mexican Hot Chocolate, quesadilla plate and carne asada plate. The carne asada plate included a small amount of grilled onions and grilled jalapeno with rice, beans, lettuce, guac, and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. One of my favorites was the flour tortillas. It tastes homemade and I love the soft flavor. The carne asada wasn't as good as I remembered as it could use a little more flavor. It included only a small amount of grilled onions, which was kind of disappointing. I enjoyed the Mexican hot chocolate, although it was a bit on the sweeter side. Overall I enjoyed this place because it's more on the authentic side.
