I haven't been to the restaurant portion in a long time, mostly because I go to the Sabor Latino Grocery instead. I also had a bad experience with someone being very frugal with the salsa (which came with my order) --see my previous review. I decided that this wasn't enough to justify a bad rating since this establishment is one-of-a-kind in Montreal. Also the grocery section is just perfect! The butchers at Sabor Latino are very talented and always have fair prices. This allows me to make my own food like carnitas or tacos with yummy cuts of beef blade roasts (recommended!) They have wonderful fresh veggies and fruits as well. Lots of delicious drinks, good frozen seafood selection, with Oaxacan fresh cheese, and arrepas as well. The workers are always friendly and speak to me in Spanish. Love this place. read more

This is the same resto as sabor Latino on st Hubert street I assume it's the 2.0!! I was super excited as the original one is a HIT and that place is super friendly They're more of a cantina style station with ready to eat meals kinda soup kitchen vibe .. you pick what you want through a glass window and off you go Unfortunately, the vibe here is a little less friendlier .. staff here are alright but I can sense some hostility if you're not Spanish speaking .. they get mad if you din't seem to speak the language Food wise: I really devoured their empanadas wowow they were delishhhh super flavourful and everything in it made sense I really loved the arepas with guacamole and chicken I skipped the actual bread because it was soggy and just not fresh bread was stale in the arepas and the tacos For the taco the pork one was super dry and old But the chicken arepas were delicious and so were my chicken empanadas The pork skins almost broke my teeth it was insanely difficult to chew on... wasn't crispy texture it was more chewy and impossible to chew The rice was good 4/5 The salads guacamole and everything green was excellent and very fresh 5/5 the churros were the highlight filled with a generous amount of dulce de leche very fresh and crispy loved that! So it was a lot of good picks and a lot of bad ones .. depends what you were having they're also attached to a grocery store where you can buy fresh latin produce very interesting and good pricing.. Was walking down st. Laurent street and saw this place was packed inside. So I decided to go inside and give it a try. I am not to familiar with Latino food but when a place is this busy I must be good and I must be missing out. The staff at the place was really nice and friendly and made some suggestions. I apologize that I do t recall all the names properly. The empanadas were probably the best thing there and they were selling like hotcakes. I took the chicken with olives. The dough was nice a flaky and the stuffing of chicken and olives was moist and was nicely stuffed. I tried the tocos with chicken and pork. The stuffing was so dry I had to drown it in the sauce they gave me. The soft toco shells were old and tasted that way. I took some pork dishes and the pork was so over cooked I did not even finish it. The rice was very nicely cooked and had tons of flavours. The rice is what saved the dish. The pastries of churros was another highlight. It was filled with dolce delichi. This was so fresh and stuffed nicely. If I was to go back I would take the pastries and empanadas. Visiting Montreal for the weak and my grandma wanted some chicharron. We walked in and the layout reminded us of a restaurant we go to in New York. Tables to sit and dine in and a counter to choose food from. The chicharrones had a lot of fat and barely any meat on them and my gramma had a bit of trouble eating them (although she blames it on her getting old lol she said a young person would have an easier time). She did say they tasted old, as if they weren't freshly fried that day. I also purchased a chicken empanada for my partner and he said it was pretty good (he's biased towards an empanada place in New York so he wasn't blown away) and the sauce they put on the side was pretty good as well but was a bit more watery than expected. Sabor Latino 2 is a mini grocery store with a food counter. I have always loved coming here and have a quick lunch. However, I have never been able to leave the place without a big bag of food & snacks for later... lol!!! The food is pan-latin, I would say. They have different kinds of tamales: Mexican, Peruvian, Colombian. There are pupusas, arepas. There are pulled pork, pulled chicken. Tacos & burritos. Cotija & Oaxaca cheese, etc. Lots of desserts & Mexican candies as well. One of my favorite things to eat here is the Mondongo soup which has tripes in it. With the lockdown, I've missed walking around and stopping for a snack here until I found out that Boulevard St-Laurent has a delivery service for the stores on there. Guess who I called first??? The staff was so amazingly helpful & nice. As always. I got a bunch of treats to eat right away and to stock the freezer. Honestly, it was one of the highlights of the week for me. I'm already excited about the next order LOL!!! Thank you Sabor Latino 2 for staying opened & most of all for the delicious food. This little eatery/grocery store has everything you need from latin america. They have a big selection of food, we got the mixed plate, the chorizo tacos, and sweet corn tamales. Things are affordable and authentic, you would definitely want to go back and try all they have to offer. The tacos were amazing! The fried pork in the mixed plate was exceptionally dry so I couldn't finish it. I also enjoyed the tamales very very much. After a quick meal, you could go for a little grocery shopping. I was looking specifically for tajin and there it was! Apparently it was kind of expensive compared to other countries but i'm not complaining. Would recommend everyone to give this spot a try! A Latin specialty market with a wide selection of traditional prepared hot meals, cold side dishes, desserts and many other items in the dry goods section. I had to control myself, as I wanted to stock up on so many things - it's just that kind of place and I was with a Mexican friend who had introduced me to several items recently, and funny enough he had to keep control as he also wanted to buy up the lot. They were getting close to closing when we arrived, but they did not make us feel unwelcome or rushed. Perhaps, it gave us too much time to find things we didn't intent to try or even buy, but turned out quite tasty nonetheless and learned of foods I'd never tried before. I have a feeling we'll both be back, but first to finish what we bought. read more

I went there a couple times already and every time the food is delicious and fresh. One of my favourite places in Montreal to eat Latin food. The price are decent for what you get. The staff is really friendly and the place looks clean to me. I don't live around but it's worth the detour. read more

In Montreal visiting from NY and just stumbled on this place. It's mostly Colombian food with a mix of some other items. sService was fast and portions were good. We got an order of Tacos al Pastor omgggg soooo good...we had to get another order. We also got an arepa, roasted chicken, rice and plantain everything was great! read more

The prepared food from the deli is good, and they sell a variety of food products from Latin America. The customer service needs improvement. The store clerks should respect the line and assist whoever is first in line, not their friends who are at the end or just arriving. On two occasions it has happened that I am the first on the queue and suddenly the girl with the tattooed arm assists customers who just arrived just because she knows them and ignores other people waiting in line. Maybe it's a Latin thing, but we are not on Colombia, we are in Canada and here the principle of "first come first served" applies. read more

Really nice staff and comforting food! This seems like the kind of place people go to over and over again when they miss home. Food is displayed in a case and there are tables to sit. Staff was very nice and the roasted chicken was really flavorful. Chicken soup was hearty and the churro was delicious!!! I would come ere again. The chicharone looked too cooked so I did not try them but usually I love them. The other desserts also looked very good! Update : we went back and the al pastor tacos are the best I have had!!!! But I'm giving a two star review because the last time we went back we got takeout and didn't realize until we got home that they completely didn't give us an order we paid for!!!!!! Have been a couple of times now just to see what kind of imports they were carrying. The only hot foods I've tried were the chorizo which was exactly as I'd hoped--good, not amazing, but quite good and not expensive--and the chicharrón which was also cheap as it should be but I might have been too ambitious with the crackled skin which was hard to bite through. The first time I went there, the young man behind the counter was very helpful but the second time I was met with a young woman who couldn't speak English (only French and Spanish) and didn't seem to care that I couldn't speak French very well. Luckily I speak Spanish but if I didn't then I would have been turned off by her attitude. read more

Sabor Latino has been a haven for me! I'm Mexican American, from East LA and I love cooking/ eating my favorite comfort foods! Although this place doesn't carry everything (like Peruvian beans) they provide me with pan dulce, Pasilla chilies for chili rellenos, takis, chili candies and corn tortillas! At a good price for being imported products too! Without this place I wouldn't be able to cook half of my grandmothers recipes. The food they prepare and serve there is tasty too. It feels cozy and packed with families, a little crazy extra ram-packed sometimes, so careful weekend afternoon shopping here if you're a little claustrophobic. Just tired their churros today and they were pretty great! The caramel filling was an unexpected by pleasant surprise.
