Wow I'm really happy I found Berchicci. It really is a nice change from me having to trek down to little Italy to my regular joint Milano. If their store hours here were a bit friendlier to my schedule (only open to 2 PM on Saturdays and closed Sunday) I believe I would be here even more! Let me preface this review by mentioning I just returned from 2 weeks in Italy. Coming to shop here I noticed a bunch of other items that were not available at other Italian grocery stores. One such was blood orange juice (arancia rossa). There is a very large selection of all your Italian staples and basics. Also a deli counter and plentiful selections of cheeses. Another great thing was they had this high quality pasta on for 6 bags of dried pasta for $5. Can you say C-R-A-Z-Y prices! There are weekly specials. In the back it's like a mini- Italian Costco with food on pallets and you have the opportunity to buy one or bulk units at very reasonable inexpensive prices! Definitely a great find, but you need a car to head here as it's a bit tucked away in the Montreal N/RDP boundary.

3.5 stars New…read moreVietnamese market I had the pleasure of checking out. It had all the main staples, fresh produce, main Asian grocery selection, fresh fish and a butcher shop. There was also a hardware section of household goods, frozen and a big bonus. An open concept restaurant located in the grocery store. It looked as though locals were enjoying a Saturday lunch when I arrived. The smells of wonderful pork bone soup filled the air! Back to the grocery store two blocks away is Kim Phat. So one would think how the hell can they possibly compete with such a Vietnamese powerhouse as KP. It's like the David and Goliath tale. Obviously there's an allure to shopping here as people were coming and going. Parking is to a minimum and there was a guy attending and trying to control parking as I was coming in. Selection was more than adequate for my Asian food needs. Some interesting discoveries: 1) dried mud fish. Not sure how one would cook a dish using. Never tried this before but googled it and it looks like a devilish creature living in a muddy landscape far far away. 2) vegetarian shark fin. As many shark lovers have cried afoul of Chinese and their celebration of shark fin soup. Don't judge me I grew up with real SFS. With the veggie version I'm glad Kei Phat supports this socially conscious move. Pamela Anderson or the PETA individuals would be proud as well. I would definitely return as its a good experience to come and shop then eat lunch or vice versa in the restaurant.

Was in the mood to visit this Asian grocery store…read more First off there is tons of free parking and public transit is just outside. Thé place itself was packed and needs a bit of tender loving care. Saying that the store produce was nothing more than top notch. You can find all your traditional Asian produce along with more non Asian produce. I went there for the duck and was lucky enough to pick some up. This was probably the best duck I have ever eaten. So moist and full of flavors. I should of gotten two. I also wanted to try some bbq pork but they were sold out. There was so much to choses from and all looked amazing and super fresh Went there for the duck and pork.

Kim Phat is still the best asian grocery store in MTL by far…read more. It's a lil run down and needs a lift but otherwise they have everything you're looking for! They even had peking duck!! Damn those ducks are insanely difficult to find these days !!! What is happening?? Why arent there ducks?? who ate them all?? Lolol Nonetheless... they had a guy cutting up the last few ducks he had left for the day and he was super friendly he even picked out the best one for us. The place is cool they have lots of asian varieties of pastries, raw meats, fish and all kinds of live fish you can choose to cook fresh from the sea lol The fruits and veggie section is quite extensive as well lots of unique items at this place ! The pantry aisles are filled with products you will never find at a regular grocery chain store Overall, I think this place is by far the best in the city and there's no insane chaotic line ups Pricing: super affordable and good sales ! Definitely recommend
