Ok so this is my first time eating traditional Salvadorian food and I really enjoyed it! It's all very, very different from Mexican or Tex-Mex food. I will say it is NOT for the light-hearted! The food is very rich.... and oily! So I don't know how most Salvadorians can eat this every day but I also don't blame them because it's pretty tasty stuff! So my favorite tries were the pasteles de carne! Very flavorful and could say that they are similar to empanadas. Definitely have to get these! I also loved the pupusas! The revuelta along with the chicharron were great but very heavy! Also the horchata was delicious! Instead of it being made with rice and cinnamon it was cacao and cinnamon. Absolutely loved it! I also tried the tamal de pollo o elote con crema. Definitely different but a little towards the dry end. We also tried the yuca con chicharron and omg i did enjoy the potatoes! Stringy and crispy. The service was also great -- took a little to get the food but you know it's being made to order and served hot! It was definitely a great experience and a fun place to try a new cuisines. Definitely won't break the bank to get super full.

Appetizer: Fried Yuca & Chicarron and two lime pieces. Very Fresh and Hot! It is very delicious! I recommend this amazing plate!

I spent $19 for a lot of food: I bought a Chicken Entree, a tamale Elote with cream, and Fried Chicharron with fried Yuca. The food was Hot and Fresh! I really loved the quality of the food. I would most definitely come back for the food.

I was really hoping for some Nicaraguan food but in the end my britches were bursting out the seams after eating everything I ordered (apparently my eyes like to order for a family of 4!). The restaurant is located in a small shopping center in the multicultural awesome pot on Bellaire. Once inside, you realize that you will be treated like family and served such awesome food that you'll beg for more. It really was as if my Momma was in the back cooking up the grub. *Be sure to order the platanos fritos and the pasteles de carne! I will seriously make a stop here even if I'm nowhere near!

Every now and then, I crave for some Salvadorian food. Unfortunately Salvadorian venues are scarce where I live. So whenever I'm back in Houston on vacation, eating this food is a must! Luckily for me my parents had been to Sabor a handful of times and took me there. I'm so glad they did because this place is aweome! It's small, yet very cozy and extremely clean. It's located in a strip mall but with plenty parking spaces. My dad recommended their mariscada and being the seafood lover that I am, I happily ordered one. So did everyone else in our party. I also ordered some pupusas revueltas, and some yucca with chicharron. Everything was beyond delicious! The pupusas were huge, not greasy, and had lots of cheese! Just the way I like them. The yucca was very crispy and tasty. Though what really stood out for me, was their mariscada indeed. It had an extraordinary flavor, a very rich and creamy broth. Unlike other seafood soups or stews I've had elsewhere, this mariscada has plenty of seafood; a half blue crab, mussels, shrimps, and a lot of fish. Bottom line, this place sure delivers. Everything is decently priced, big portions, and incredibly savory food! Not to mention, the wait staff was very attentive and caring. I'll be definitely back for more!

Good food for a good price! I've tried many of their dishes & have not been dissatisfied.

Mariscada or suppose to be one

This place has the worse service their food is not even that good I order a mariscada tasted so nasty is nothing but cheap fish two shrimps and nothing else usually mariscadas they put a whole bunch of seafood I send my order back and the lady ask me what was wrong so we told her it was the worse mariscada my daughter and I had!!!!

And that's the entrance to the restroom

Our server was super attentive and he made sure that everyone's food and drinks came out at the same time even if someone came in later. I had the nachos with beef fajita and chicken, and I thought it was pretty good, it has the same set up as nachos from Pappasito's and my only complaint was that I asked for a side of sour cream to go and was charged a dollar for it. So if anything keep in mind that if you request an extra or even a condiment on the side, you might get charged a small fee.

I feel like my food was probably sitting for a while because it wasn't hot. The omelette itself didn't really have any flavor nor did the potatoes. The most flavorful thing on the plate was the avocados and fruit. I didn't even really feel like it was an omelette. Looked more like a bunch of meat wrapped in an egg cover vs everything being nicely mixed together. I took it to go because I didn't want to throw it away there. The service was very slow. I'd say it took a little over an hour for me to get my food and some people in the group waited longer. One of the girls waited for quite a bit and then the waiter told her they don't have the item she was waiting for. Waiting 1 hr to be told your meal is isn't available is crazy lol Waiter was nice though and comped the other item she ordered. Overall, I'd say I wasn't impressed with Gloria's brunch for sure. Maybe I'd try them again for happy hour at their other location.

I went there due to seeing their instagram story about a $10 meal deal (2 pupusas, a pastelito, and a soda) but they had run out of pastelitos so I had to quickly choose something so I'm thankful that they were happy to help answer any questions. It's a small food truck located in the same parking lot with Fiesta off Paton and Cavalcade so there's no seating or real space to eat (unless you eat in your car). They're also honest about the wait time. They said it would take 15-20 minutes and they didn't go over their time estimate. I have only had pupusas a handful of times (I'm from a small town in WA state that only had Mexican restaurants since only Mexicans lived there, so don't judge ) and can say these were the best I've had thus far. They were freshly made and piping hot when I got them (I had to put the bag down from my lap because it was too hot) and remained so throughout eating them. The cheese was gooey and stringy and their salsa has a nice little kick to it. It wasn't greasy or too salty which is always a plus. I ordered the revueltas (pork & cheese) and added beans to them. They are HUGE so be mindful when ordering them (they also taste better the next day if you have any leftover). These were definitely worth the price. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks if I know where they sell good pupusas. Let's just say I'll be going in again (they're so close to me). I hope y'all enjoy.

Beware, they play loud Christian music. They have a small grocery store within the restaurant where you can find all types of Salvadoran products. I wanted a fruit drink and asked to try the cantaloupe juice first. It was artificial and too sweet. I'm glad I didn't order it. I was appalled when I saw the price of the fruit salad drink. It's $7.99. Who do they think they are? I inquired if they have a small size. They don't. I wonder how many folks purchase it. This is a low-income area. I got down to business and ordered a cheese and loroco pupusa. It was of course served with curtido (cabbage) and a tomato sauce. The pupusa was good but I've had better. The sauce was watered down. I would probably go back to have a pupusa if I'm in the area. But it's not my favorite place to have them.
