Two years ago, I was going in very frequently when my hospitality job required very short hair. I have since been growing my hair out to donate it someday, two years later. I went in today for a clean up around the ears. I also opted to have my hair washed, more practice for the students. Ella was Fantastic, I even shared with her my favorite soap I use for my hair! I will be back in 4-6 weeks! Before she graduates, because her service was excellent! read more

SABA Beauty Academy -- More Than an Academy, It Became Home Choosing SABA Beauty Academy was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I came here to learn esthetics, but I walked away with so much more than a certificate -- I gained confidence, resilience, discipline, beautiful memories, and a family. From the very beginning, SABA created an environment where I felt supported, encouraged, and genuinely cared for. The education is hands-on, practical, and prepares you for the real world of esthetics. I learned so much about skincare, facials, skin analysis, sanitation, massage, advanced treatments, and so many other essential skills that I will carry with me throughout my career. But I have to give a very special thank you to Ms. Asmi. There are teachers who teach you a subject, and then there are teachers who leave a permanent mark on your life. Ms. Asmi is the second kind. She didn't just teach me esthetics -- she taught me resilience, patience, courage, and how to believe in myself even on the days when I doubted myself. Over these past few months, she became so much more than an instructor. She became someone I genuinely looked up to, trusted, and appreciated. Her encouragement, patience, high standards, and belief in her students made such a difference in my journey. She pushed me to become better while also reminding me that I was capable of more than I thought. I started this journey as a student, and I finished it feeling like I had become a stronger, more confident version of myself. I will forever be grateful for the lessons I learned at SABA -- both inside and outside the classroom. SABA will always have a special place in my heart. It truly became my second home, and the people I met there will always be a meaningful part of my story. If you are considering becoming an esthetician, I genuinely recommend SABA Beauty Academy. Come ready to learn, work hard, grow, and challenge yourself -- and you will leave with so much more than an education. Thank you, SABA, for being part of such an important chapter of my life. And Ms. Asmi, thank you for believing in me, pushing me, and reminding me to be unstoppable and irreplaceable. I will carry that with me wherever this career takes me. Forever grateful. Forever a SABA girl. read more

Extremely reasonable. You never know if you're going to get. Student who is experienced or your their first. But they always do a great job and for the price it's def worth giving it a try! You have nothing to lose! I just tried it for the first time and I did a manicure and an eyebrow wax and was extremely impressed. They even did a child and went out of their way to make it fun for her! read more

This is a Wonderful, professional place, where the students are great. Students are supervised, and instructed by the experienced instructors! They are very attentive. Our family has been getting everything from small trims to pedicure, nails done, bleaching done at this location for several years. It's nice to have an affordable place that we (our family) all agree upon for having consistent positive hair results. read more

I graduated from this school a year ago, and looking back, it was the best investment I've ever made! Even after a year in the industry, I still use everything I learned there. The school is amazing, but the absolute GOAT is Ms. Asmi. I'm still obsessed with her! She has this incredible way of making even the toughest techniques feel easy. No fluff, just pure skills and constant support. If you want to actually feel confident in your hands and start a career, you NEED to go to Ms. Asmi. Truly the best! read more

SABA Beauty school - With my favorite mentor, Ms. Asmi. Best teacher ever! - Cosmetology Schools Near Me - Lake Forest, California

I had such a great experience at Saba Hair Salon in Lake Forest. Everyone was so welcoming, and I'm really happy with how my hair turned out. Macy did my haircut and she was amazing!!! she really listened to what I wanted, took her time, and I'm so happy with the result! :) A big thank you as well to Mrs. Diane, who helped with my hair and was so kind and helpful throughout the process. You can tell how much care and attention she has for her students and work. Overall such a positive experience, and I would definitely recommend Saba Hair Salon to anyone looking for a haircut or color in the area! read more

Service at SABA Beauty School in Lake Forest is a professional and budget-friendly alternative to traditional salons, with services performed by students under the close supervision of licensed instructors. It is important to note that appointments often take significantly longer than at a standard salon because instructors must sign off on each step. The primary draw is the significantly discounted pricing for haircuts, color, and spa treatments compared to local private salons. read more

Have had root touch-up color several times at the school. Students are great, price is reasonable, and the services are high level. It sure beats coloring my hair at home! read more

I made a same day appointment for a haircut. Checking in was a breeze, everyone was very friendly and the students were so conscientious with their work. The supervisor, Miss Donna, was always present and checking the student's work and giving them advice discreetly. Handsome Henry was on top of it and explained all the services that were available at the lake forest location. My daughter and granddaughter had a good first experience too with their haircuts. I would definitely recommend this beauty school for your haircut. I did not use any other services so I can't recommend them yet. read more

I was part of the beauty school program at the Lake Forest location, and my experience there completely changed how I felt about pursuing this career. I enrolled excited and motivated, but over time that excitement turned into frustration and disappointment. The program did not teach me everything I needed to feel prepared or confident. The first five weeks are when students receive most of their structured instruction and hands-on guidance. After that period, it felt like we were largely left on our own with minimal support. If you struggled with something or needed extra clarification, you were often made to feel like you were inconveniencing the instructors rather than being supported as a student. The environment became discouraging very quickly. I stopped looking forward to going to school after the first few months. Instead of feeling like a place where students could grow and build skills, it felt stressful and uncomfortable. Many of the instructors were disrespectful in the way they spoke to students. The tone often felt condescending, and students were treated more like children in elementary school rather than adults paying for a professional education. The instructor Ms. Aisha would target me and a certain group of girls who sat in front of her every day. We have all had problems with this specific instructor. Whether it would be her just bullying us or her actions made specifically towards my group of friends. We would always get in trouble for things other students would be doing also but we were the only ones to get in trouble. There has been multiple incidents where this instructor would put her hands on my friends shoving them to their seat and also getting in their faces. The owner Ms. Tammy would never support us and only her instructors. She would never sit there and listen to our side of the story and only listen to what Ms. Aisha would say about us, causing us to get written up etc. Rules would suddenly change depending on the day or the instructor's mood, which made it hard to understand expectations. There was a constant feeling of walking on eggshells. The attendance policy and penalties were also extremely strict. While I understand the importance of showing up, the consequences for missing school - even for legitimate reasons - felt excessive and added even more stress to it. It also felt like certain students were singled out or treated differently, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere and favoritism among the class. Instead of fostering teamwork and encouragement, it often felt divided and discouraging. Overall, my experience at this location made me question whether this was the right path for me -- not because I lack passion for the beauty industry, but because the learning environment did not support growth, confidence, or professionalism. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this school to thoroughly research other options and speak to former students before enrolling. There are other programs out there that may offer a more supportive and consistent educational experience. read more

I can't say enough great things about my time as a student at SABA School. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt welcomed, supported, and inspired to grow not only as a cosmetologist but as a confident professional. The instructors truly care about your success. They're knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly generous with their experience. I always felt encouraged to ask questions, try new techniques, and challenge myself creatively and technically. Whether it was haircuts, color, texture, or styling, every lesson was packed with real-world knowledge and hands-on learning. Beyond the education, SABA gave me a sense of community. I made lasting friendships and felt part of a family that celebrated every milestone--from my first client on the floor to graduation day. Thanks to SABA, I now feel fully prepared and excited for the future. If you're considering a career in cosmetology and want a school that genuinely invests in your success, I highly recommend SABA. The three stars are for Roya who did my hair and did an amazing job! She has an amazing personality and takes care of her clients and listens to customer needs. I love the products Roya uses and her technique. She definitely knows what she's doing . Miss Zara, however, overcharged me at the counter and wouldn't explain the break down! I only got a shampoo and blow dry and was charged $35 for my hair that is very fine and 12inches long. I'll definitely be coming back to Roya but will ask for prices prior to getting anything done. read more

First time getting a haircut today. Appointment was 11AM and it was on mark. Marsala cut my hair and was extremely pleasant, courteous and did a fantastic job. I liked how she listened to my wants, the way she layered my bangs and asked me how I want my hair cut as she went along. It was a simple bob. She displayed a lot of care and concern for me which I appreciated. I will return and try to use her again next time. She's a great communicator. Excellent job, Marisela! read more

Very nice and knowledgeable students and instructors. I had two services done here and they were both five star. First of all, the tone of this school is extremely positive. The students laugh and have fun, the instructors look in and check the students work and demonstrate the proper way to do something. I had a sweetheart of a student working on me, she was just a doll. She took her time and did a first rate job. The second student who worked on me did a first rate job also, and she was just as nice. Don't hesitate to book services here. The pricing is very good, but remember that students are working on you so the services may not be as speedy as they are in your regular salon. Plan to be in the school/salon for a while. Also, don't forget to tip the students and tip generously. These gals and guys are going to school and probably work a part-time job also. Tips are very much appreciated and the two students who worked on me really deserved and earned their tips! read more

I went in for a haircut and keratin chemical treatment and was warmly greeted by Yaremy and Andrea. Both ladies didn't waste any time. They quickly prepped my hair with clarifying shampoo (best head massage), then meticulously treated my hair with keratin. This process is long (as I expected), but the results were fabulous! The girls did it all with a big smile and I will definitely be back here. Now my hair feels so much healthier and shiny. I love it. Oh and the chemical they used does not have formaldehyde and smelled amazing! Thank you Saba Beauty School! read more

Got a surprise shampoo today--no supervisor permission, no warning! My hair's living its best life, whether I'm ready or not!" Got a manicure at the beauty school, and let's just say... my nails ghosted me. The color vanished after 3 days -- it was supposed to last two weeks! I've had stickers stay on longer. Application? Today was my 4rd visit to Saba. As always I called and asked how much for a men's hair cut. I was told it's $7.00 on Tuesdays and Saturdays ( I have been paying this for the last two visits) I showed up got a hair cut from a nice young gentleman "Justin" When I got the the register the Older Asian lady showed up and said it's $15. I told her I called and was told $7.00 she said "on now that was. Long time ago" I told her I have been her twice before in the last 60 days. And that I had called earlier today too and was told it was $7 She said May be it was a student who made a mistake and that its hasn't been $7 for a long time.. I know she is a liar because she tried to pull the same my 1st visit but a nice red head lady told her she had already told me it was $7.00 Recommend getting the name of the person when you call /get the price etc.. read more

I had a wonderful facial with Jena at SABA Beauty School. She was professional, warm, skilled and made me feel SO relaxed during my treatment. I took my daughter in to enroll her into Cosmetology night class.Dealing with enrollment at the local college was next to impossible dealing with online.I highly suggest going in.If we had known this before,It would have saved a lot of time and confusion. My daughter missed the orientation due to the extremely complicated enrollment process. So do yourselves a favor and go into the Saddleback location. The staff were actually very helpful. If it had not been for my daughter choosing night class schedule,She would not have gotten in,as the daytime class was already full.We were very relieved and my daughter is very happy to be starting her training in a week. The Saba beauty administrator was very helpful and courteous and explained everything thoroughly. This is going to be a good fit for my daughter.I am a hairstylist with 30 yrs experience.Don't be fooled by the big name cosmetology schools that cost big $$$.I have interviewed some of these students at my salons and quite honestly their students are no better than a basic school without the bells and whistles. Its always going to be about the basic training from the instructor and the attitude of the student and then of course what will happen once you have your license. This will be the start of when your world opens up. read more

This was my second time doing a program through Saba Beauty and Saddleback college. I really enjoyed the process, my fellow students and teachers. Ms Asmi especially made the experience easy to get through every day and less overwhelming. You learn a lot of new information in the 600 hour program for estheticians, along with skin care, waxing, and makeup. There are a lot of demos that come in to show you how to use their products and you have the opportunity to experiment with a lot of different processes. After graduating I'm confident in skin analysis, extractions, along with different treatment for each skin type. Thanks to Ms. Asmi's guidance I'm confident in my knowledge and have had opportunities to earn different achievements and certifications, which look great on your resume. read more

I graduated last year as an esthetician and enjoyed my time here. My instructor, ms. Asmi, really focused on getting through the book for each of her students to help us pass our state board exams. She has a really high passing rate which is super important for your success as an esthetician. She will also highlight important topics throughout your time there. She really cares for her students' success and makes sure they're congratulated at the fun graduation parties. You can make great connections here and also get to know the cosmetology side. We often trade services while we're all learning how to perform them. If you go here, I definitely advise you to learn as much as possible, ask questions, and get involved with the services to prepare you for work. The time flies right by especially if you go full time. Ms Tammy and the rest of the staff were super helpful as well. read more
