The employees are friendly. The lines move quickly & efficiently. After the weighing of the materials, one receives their cash refund in the office. Consumers pay California Redemption Value (CRV) when they purchase beverages from a retailer. The beverage container recycling program was created in 1986. Refunds are now by weight of the materials, instead of by the size of a container, as the Assembly Bill originally called for. The program includes aluminum cans and glass & plastic bottles. Check the label to see if a container is eligible for CRV, as some beverage containers are not eligible (milk, food, wine, spirits, etc.). The container will say CA Redemption Value, California Cash Refund, CA CRV or CA Cash Refund. A-1 Metals also sells salvaged used auto parts.

Glass does not need to be separated by color, but glass, plastic, and aluminum should all be separated prior to bringing your cans in for weighing. The staff are polite and if you are organized prior to arriving, you can be on and out in a matter of minutes. Payment is in cash and you sign for what you receive. Easy peasy.

If there was any other place really to go to close by I would. My husband and I usually go once a…read moremonth to recycle our bottles and cans and we've never had a positive experience with this location or the one in Food 4 Less parking lot. Service workers are rude and unhelpful, alot of times they got attitude issues for no reason, and sometimes you can't even do your recycle because they won't accept cans that day or some other issue. Don't wait to be at the end of the shift to get in unless you want to be turned away. I once saw a worker turn this lady away and she only had one small bag of cans and he still had 45 minutes left to his closing time to go. It would have taken him no real extra time but instead he gave her crap for always waiting til the end of the day to get there and he has to stay open pass his closing time to process her cans. There is obvious history between them but the way he came off at her was so horrible that you just wanted to call a supervisor on him but there is no supervisor to call. Not a great place to go but unfortunately all the other centers in town have closed down.
