I'm out here in El Centro working and since its as hot as....it is, I'm buying a pallet of water every month. I have my guys keep the empties out of the trash for recycling so I can reward the crew with a lunch bbq. Well I took a truck load in on friday 7/9/21 and was told I could not recycle more that 100 pounds of water bottles. Wow news to me.... So now what, they suggested I give them all to them for .12 cents per pound instead of the going rate of $1.33 per pound....Then I offered to recycle 100 pounds and come back but oh no that's illegal in this state. It was all or nothing. So I asked if I could get my 100 pounds a donate the rest to the next people in line, that was acceptable to them. Long story short i gave up 90 pounds of water bottles to some man and wife trippled thier haul. Anyone ever hear this rule? Guys were nice about it but still.....WTF only in CA. This used to be my go-to recycler. I've had an account with this place for 12+years.(since Oscar was there, then Danny). On Saturday i went, neither of the men working spoke english. The older one who has been there for awhile at least attempts to be helpful. The younger of the 2 was RUDE! Barking orders in Spanish, in the middle of my transaction he stopped to help another non English speaking guy remove an EMPTY but bent bin off of the forklift. It took a few minutes so he had to figure out where he left off with me. It really is a safety hazard when the employees cant communicate with customers, other than shaking there head and shrugging there shoulders. The screen is at an angle you can no longer see prices until after the ticket is printed. The prices are alot less compared to San Diegos SA, the employees speak English up there too. read more
