Liberty Firearms Institute - A look at the 100-yard range as I was shooting an M1A (Rental) in 2022.

Found a smoking deal on a Ruger Precision Rifle for $499 in 6.5 CM. It used to be their range…read morerental which baffled me. When I asked why they would have that at an indoor range the employee said they had a 100 yard range. He said it was "really old" despite the brand new stock. It looked in 8/10 exterior condition to be honest. I asked if he had an idea how many rounds had been shot out of it, he said probably between 50-100k. Math wasn't mathing, I thought to myself who goes to an indoor range to shoot a bolt rifle at $2/Round - not many people. Couldn't dissuade me I told him I'd take it. Came back 3 days later to pick it up and mentioned the previous interaction to a new employee after he himself was amazed at the deal and he chuckled when I said I thought the previous employee was just trying to talk people out of it till his next paycheck hit and mentioned employees have a 2 week wait till their can buy any guns on the wall. Anyways, smoking deal on the RPR. Worried about the barrel being shot out I scoped it with a borescope and it looks amazing. Once in a lifetime deal. Been here a couple of times before and they honored their pricing on .243 as the shelf read $6-8 less than what it range up as. Overall huge store, decent collection of guns not as many as I'd think they would have considering the amount of cases they have. Over nice clean store, could use some more employees behind the counter as there's probably 5x that through the campus.

All of the ranges are kept in excellent working condition 2 x 25 yds, 1 x 50yds & 1 x 100 yds, Bopper (Steel plates) and an interactive (Simulation Range). The RSOs are friendly but firm on the rules, as it should be. The sales folk will always be happy to sell you a new, new-to-you firearm or Order it if they don't have it on hand. If you need to try a firearm out before purchasing, you can always Rent one from their catalog of available firearms. If you need Training, they have in-house trainers via the Makhaira Group and classrooms on-site.

He reassured me that he would call me if they received a lower offer than the asking price, which was documented on the intake paper. I received a call an hour later, asking if I would take $100+ off. Ummm...nope. About a month after I dropped it off, I received a call from Chloe (a super sweet employee) saying that my gun sold! Awesome! I asked her to mail it to me, as I live out of state. She was happy to do so and let me know that it would go out in the next day's mail. Fast forward to a week later and I received the check. I looked at the amount and immediately knew it wasn't right. They sold my gun for $400 - not $450 (listed price). I never received a call to ask about the offer and was very upset that they sold it for a lower price (especially due to it being my recently deceased husband). I emailed them to ask them why they took an offer that I didn't authorize, but the employee (or owner) was defensive and said that the paperwork stated I would take a $400 offer. NOPE. I have the paperwork to prove it. They continued to argue with me over several emails, about their theft and never admitted they were wrong. They are incredibly unprofessional and I would never recommend anyone go here for consignment sales unless you want to support a lying business that will steal your money!

Prior to Saturday, June 17th, '23, I had been to Trigger Time once with a long-standing member of the club. Even though I have shot a great number of guns there - as well as out in the wilderness - I knew that I needed formal instruction. The father & son teaching the class together were superb (Perry & Troy Morris). Both certified by the NRA, I knew that these two men were the real deal. [They also struck me as really good humans.]    The lecture portion of the course was nicely jazzed up with humor and interaction, and the Powerpoint presentation itself wasn't a snoozer like so many Power Points wind up being. These astute learning leaders maintained our attention and alertness by providing frequent breaks and interesting facts throughout the day.   Regarding the hands-on portion of the class, Troy and Perry were marvelously encouraging and provided the perfect amount of assistance & intervention.  From loading and proper grip to stance & hitting the target, the father & son team made the experience downright enjoyable. Since taking the class, my intimidation and fear in handling guns has diminished greatly and my basic pistol skills seem more solidified. That being said, I am going to recommend the Pistol Basics class - and Trigger Time, the business itself, particularly to other women.
