It is well organized- everyone has to remove their shoes at the entrance so the place does not get dirty (not all of these types of places enforce no shoes). There is a separate section for young children ages three and under, as well as a trampoline, padded mini soccer field, climbing wall, and lighted dance floor. My kids enjoy simply crawling through the tube tunnels, climbing up the net ladders, running through the alleyways or zipping down the slides. "Driving" the truck, "flying" the airplane, and rolling the giant exercise balls on the second level are favourite activities too. The best part is the large separate snack area they have set aside for their patrons -- kids always get hungry and thirsty, and it is nice to be able to bring in our own lunch to save money and maximize our play time. They also offer beverages and snacks at their cafe. Their nut-free policy definitely gives me piece of mind when bringing my peanut-allergic son here. It can get busy if daycare groups are visiting, but the last Tuesday morning (when adults get in free) we were here, it was quiet and we nearly had the place to ourselves. Admission isn't cheap and entry is $13 and $8 for my two kids, but the amenities available more than make up for it when we do occasionally drop in. Great place - we will be back.

He was a bit frightened by the sound of the machines but he warmed up to the noise quickly. He loved the slide that was perfect for his size in the section for 0-4 year olds. The general admission prices are great, and we were happily surprised by the quality, portion sizes, and reasonable prices for the food. It is in a huge building with lots of room, and they have rooms specifically for the parties. There is a space specifically for feeding babies and also for changing tables. Trampolines, rock climbing wall, bouncy house and the rest of the playgrounds feel like they're five storeys high. Your children are also always secure. They have made sure that their check in and check out procedures have the kids leave with who came with and cannot leave without their guardian present. They have an arcade area and there really is a day's worth of fun available. They even have massage chairs which are to die for. We will definitely be going back with his older brother soon; it's perfect for all ages. We can't wait!

Cool and funny…read more La Baie is a borough that was created back in 1976 by the combination of several small villages. It's now actually part of the town of Sanuenay but enjoys it's separate identity. Sort of a confusing place and it you ask someone exactly where you are you just might get several different answers. La Baie sits on the edge of the Baie des Ha! Ha! Yep, that's it's real name. Apparently the first explorers thought they were going up a large river but when the inlet really didn't go anywhere everyone had a good laugh. Or something. The village is pretty cool with great scenery in all directions, but to make it even cooler, the village has a great bike path that runs along the Bale des Ha! Ha! and into the center of town. You can use the bike path to get to the great La Baie Maritime museum or to see the crazy pyramid that they have there. A very unusual place. The path isn't particularly long but they keep it in great shape. Not an easy feat considering the nasty weather that cracks and heaves the surface. All the people I met along the way were very friendly and benches are placed along the way for folks to sit and enjoy the view. The weather was pretty nippy so I didn't see many bikes but I did see a lot of dog walkers and people jogging. This is fiddle country and I met several people playing fiddles and other instruments not far from the path and I saw some other people dressed in antique clothing. They definitely dance to their own music up there and don't give a ruatbaga what other people think. This isn't the longest, faster or most impressive bike path I have ever been on, but for sheer beauty of the scenery and the fascinating and friendly people I met, certainly one of the most interesting.

I've actually helped to throw a gorgeous wedding here in the heritage buildings a number of years ago, it was challenging but so memorable and I'd highly recommend it if you're willing to do the work and deal with the constraints of the space (when they reopen). But winter here is my favourite. We love to come here cross-country skiing as a family, being on these huge trails and wild edges of the island. It's always breezy here in the summer, even hot days are soothing, the waves are wild and you just feel a release from the heaviness of the city. All the more appreciated during these crazy times.

We stay at Portage campground (there are 4 campground all together), because it's by far the most wooded and private. The lots are huge, and almost completely closed in. It's difficult to hear anyone else unless they are being very loud, which you're not supposed to do. There is a "no excessive noise at any time" rule in place. The lots are so big that we had room for 3 tents (a 3 person, a 4 person and a 6 person tent) plus a 12 x 12 screen house and two cars. We rented two lots as we were a group of 8 people, and put the picnic table from the other lot on ours and still had plenty of space for everyone to move around, set up outdoor games, and sit, distanced, around the fire. I will only plan camping trips here.
