When we arrived, we signed a waiver, were given a life jacket, a glow stick, paddle and huddled outside for a briefing. An overview of the evening was given and minimal instruction was presented although few raised their hands when asked if anybody hasn't been on a kayak before. Once we got onto our kayaks, we were told to follow the instructor who was leading on a paddle board. The pace was slow and I found it frustrating as I would have preferred if we were told destination or meeting points. After a brief circle near the dock off the Esplanade de Nord park on Nuns Island, we were tied up to watch the fireworks and avoid battling the currents. A radio allowed us to listen in on the fireworks show, and a glass of red wine was offered. The show was great but I believe we were way too far to fully enjoy the show. Once over, we were untied which took a while, and headed back to the dock where we hoisted ourselves out and were asked to pull our kayaks up to the office. Overall, the evening was just okay mostly cause it was nice to have the opportunity to kayak on the Fleuve St/Laurent but I found for the price you paid, you didn't get enough time to actually paddle and the fireworks were way too far to fully enjoy.

We went there at like 7pmish which I thought it was late, but watching the sunset was just amazing. It's really relaxing, and even if you do not know kayaking its really easy to learn! The KSF guy is very helpful, and he teaches you briefly how to kayak, and tells you where to go and not go. It's for sure an awesome experience, and I would suggest to everyone! At the bar section: theres famous cocktails sangria, bloody marry and lots of more drinks .. it is quite pricey not going to lie 2 drinks was around 31$ but it was very nice and tasty ... You can also bring your own drinks and food if you like they're just street vendors and don't own the establishment Overall, It's a beautiful place to gather around and totally worth checking it out. It is an urban park…read morein Montreal, located in the borough of Lachine on a jetty between the Saint Lawrence River and the end of the Lachine Canal. The park is approximately 1,500,000 sq ft in area and it is named after René Lévesque, the prime minister of Quebec from 1976 to 1985. The park is ample and it has a bicycle path, an arboretum and we were able to see several species of birds. Walking along the water is soothing and very nice. If you are driving, the road access to the park is mainly through the Chemin du Canal, an extension of Saint Patrick Street.

we set out to hike parc du mont royal, one of montreal's most iconic green spaces and a beloved…read moreescape from the city. designed in the 1870s by landscape architect frederick law olmsted, who also designed new york's central park, the park covers a large portion of mount royal and offers walking trails, viewpoints, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature right in the heart of montreal. thinking it would be a straightforward hour and five minute trek, we quickly learned that our timeline was a little optimistic. naturally, the hike turned into a much longer adventure with plenty of pit stops along the way. before tackling the climb, we wandered through the area, stopping at mngo, decathlon, a k-beauty store, and even a museum before finally making our way up the mountain. by the time we started the hike, we had already turned it into a full day of exploring. the trail itself was well maintained, with a mix of shaded pathways and plenty of stairs to keep things interesting. the overcast sky made the climb much more manageable, although it was still quite the workout. between the greenery, the incline, and the steady stream of steps, there were definitely moments when the beads of sweat and the sunscreen threatening to run into my eye, reminded me that this was more than just a casual stroll. the grounds were clean and well cared for, with shaded sections that offered welcome breaks along the way. after the climb, we were rewarded with a panoramic view of montreal from the belvédère lookout, where the city skyline stretches out below. it's one of those views that makes you forget about tired legs for a moment. on the way down, we stumbled across the towering cross, one of mont royal's most recognizable landmarks, and decided to take a quieter, less travelled path. the change of scenery was worth it, and we even spotted a little chipmunk along the way, a perfect reminder that we were surrounded by nature despite being right in the middle of the city. with fresh air, lush greenery, and just enough challenge to feel accomplished, the hike up parc du mont royal was a memorable part of our montreal adventure. just remember to bring water, sunscreen, and be prepared for a few more steps than you might expect.

Montreal's Central Park The View…read more I've visited twice. Once at night for the city light view from the Chalet terrace about a decade ago. This time (2026) for the day views and visits to the Cross and to the Lake. When I came about 10 years ago at night time, the crowd was much lighter and chill. Also, I saw an owl sitting on the tree along the walking path! Today's visit on a late summer holiday weekday, it was super crowded with locals, cyclists going up the Mont, joggers and tourists. Parking was tight as were trails to 3 major sites on Mont Royal. The Cross was rather disappointing as the trail was a gravelly loop apx 1.6km without a reward vista. Also the hiking trails of the main road were riddled with poison ivy :/. The Chalet was open (unlike my earlier night visit)! Inside were a coffee shop, a gift shop, bathrooms and a big room with a lodge style ceiling. The viewing terrace was super packed with people though everyone was accommodating with photo opportunities. The view was nice with the buildings and bridges. Drastically different than the sparkling lights at night! Tried to go to the Lake but couldn't get a paid parking spot. And after 3 loops, I passed after hearing it's rather dirty with some ducks. Perhaps bc it was a holiday weekend, this Labor Day, Monday was crowded and the cyclists moved faster than cars. I would NOT repeat the day visit unless it's for exercises. The Cross IMO isn't worth it and the Lake parking is too much of a bother. The night views of Montreal from the Chalet terrace on a clear night beats everything I've experienced today.

Despite there being 5 stages, things were really well spread out, it was very clean, and there was plenty of space to move around in the crazy crowds. There were a lot of shade options around and seating that seemed permanent to the park, which is rare at festivals. One of the better parts of the experience was the transit. Getting there via ferry was quick (once I figured out which pier was the right one). Leaving the venue was even better. They had trains lined up and ready to go. As fast as one could fill up, the next one was there and ready to fill up as well. I was at the front of main stage for that headliner, and from there to getting off of my main metro stop back in Old Montreal was no more than 20 minutes. Also there was a great view of the city at sunset from the island!

Each one was a marvel--crafted from hundreds of thousands of flowers and plants, yet so artfully shaped that they felt like characters telling their own stories. "Mother Earth," with her serene face and cascading waterfall arm, embodied both strength and gentleness. "The Man Who Planted Trees" reminded me of the power of one person's quiet perseverance. And the "Six Pairs of YY" seemed to echo Montreal's spirit of community and cultural connection. We strolled slowly, letting the art unfold piece by piece, until we eventually found a spot to sit. Terrific park on the eastern side of Nun's Island, with an undeveloped waterfront with wide open…read moreviews of the South Shore and Champlain Bridge. Not a lot of picnic tables or park benches but everyone who shows up here seems to be well stacked with their own stuff, inflatable kayaks, stand-up paddles, outdoor bbq, volleyball nets, etc. Nun's Island has an extensive network of bike paths but there's also a great hiking trail along the waters edge, in the back yards of the exclusive residences of this wealthy bedroom community, which also intersect at this park. Given how crazy "mainland" Verdun has become in the past 3 years especially that dank beach, I'm happy to find a much quieter, cleaner and natural place where I can watch the birds, read books underneath the cool shade of willow trees and possibly venture and wade in the water and not have to see a single obnoxious hipster or man-bun in sight.

My buddy Angela M and I set ourselves a mission of exploring Montreal on our bikes this summer,…read moreboth to stretch our local horizons and to build up our bike muscles. So on a not-too-hot Saturday end of July we set out from Mile-Ex to Parc Bellerive with the intention of catching a ferry there over to the îles de Boucherville National Parc. The parc itself was bigger and more lovely than we knew, we could have just hung out there. On that particular Saturday there was a festival happening celebrating Mexican culture with food and a big stage with live music. Families spilled out beyond the gates of the festival, picnicking and BBQing in the parc. The park runs along the waterfront, it's wide and breezy and full of trees and water access for splashing with puppy dogs or doing some fishing. There is a cute gazebo near where the ferry docks. The ferry runs every hour on the hour till 5pm in the summer and costs $9 including your return fare. It's perfectly setup for taking bikes over to the islands, we had a great time and can't wait to go back! The parc Bellerive itself is 22 hectares, we didn't explore it all but it looks like a great place to go for a run, or hang out with your family and friends and watch the rushing water of the Fleuve St Laurent.
