I broke down on the A46 on my way from Newcastle to Portsmouth and phoned about 6 other garages Yelp suggested to me before finding SM who were the only company willing to rescue me off the side of the road, so this is the first thing working in thier favour, they could rescue me. The price of the rescue was also a surprise to me, at a small £30, my friends had told me they were expecting prices of £150+. Once th car was at the garage Steve, I presume the owner, was vey helpful and told me he'd give me a call an wouldn't do the anything without my say so, he then kindly gave me a lift to the train station ad I had to get to Portsmouth still. The work was all done within a day, but I couldn't get back to Coventry for another 4 days and they had no problems with keeping it there or me. I decided that as it was in the garage anyway I might as well get the AC re-gassed as they did I for £40 which I understand to be cheap. Overall the work done on the car seemed a good price, I didn't once feel I was getting ripped off, and the staff were friendly and helpful. So I'd be more than willing to recommend them! read more

S&M auto is located at spon end, literally the 2nd building on the right hand side as you enter the industrial estate. The actual facility is quite large, with a reception on the left hand size. The staff are really friendly here and will chat to you. They are very helpful too. If you require a price they will get one to you over the phone within minutes, unless they really need to see the vehicle. I have been here a few times now , one because its very close to where i live, 2 the service they give is birlliant, and 3 they have really cheap prices. I have taken my car there, and literally they have rang me back within a few hours saying its ready for collection. I have had one major piece of moddifying done here which involved remove the front bumper.Being a red car not many places are will to remove bumpers unless there is a fault or damage to the car. I wanted my lights changing, and this is one of the only gargaes willing to do it. Red scratches easily you see. But they did it to the best of their ability and it was 100% perfect. Not only that but the prices were amazing too. The lady who helps run the place likes my car now. So for a great service, great prices and extremely good job S&M auto are the place to go. Whenever we need help with our cars , they are sorted in a day.They always fit us in and do a fantastic job at a decent price. Following my below review, I have had my car looked over again and the previous service was done terribly badly. There is a missing nail and gearbox oil was emptied and not changed, hence scary clinking noises. These are only a couple of the problems. Basically, either pay and worship these people, or if you're brave enough to ask questions like I did, pay and have your car ruined. Never returning and will be warning all my friends. read more

Being a female i have often found intimidated getting my car fixed,being all male enviroments i find myself baffled with technical jargun,i visted sm autos when my car had a problem and was given free friendly advise ,never did i feel pressured that i had to leave the car,when my car went in for the repairs(head gasket gone) i was kept up to date and was explained in detail what was involved and the costs. never did they do any work without my consent.having female staff to explain things definately made things easier,i found the cost of the repair very reasonable too so i shall be using them again.(they make great coffee too!) read more
