When I phoned them asking about what's the condition of my car and whether it'll pass the MOT test they told me they would have to replace a few car parts which they said would cost me and X amount of £. When I went over there to pick up my car after the parts had been replaced they had increased the asking price for the replaced car parts and they did not provide me with a receipt as to how much each part as well as the labour charges are worth. I confronted them about this which is why they changed the total price for the replaced car parts 2 more times which gave me the perception that they were making the price charges as they went along. I suppose they didn't have a fixed price list. Absolute waste of time and they've got no consideration for the customer.

On an obviously very busy Friday afternoon. I was informed that it may take until the next Wednesday before the car could be assessed. By the next Wednesday, the car had been assessed (I suspect an engineer stayed late for this), the sizable part had been ordered, received and fitted. Communication was excellent,staring on Monday morning.I collected the car that afternoon, it had been thoroughly cleaned inside and out. I'd been using the car as a mobile skip as attics, sheds and gardens needed to be cleared out prior to moving house, so the vehicle was in bit of a state. Some moss was growing in places. I highly recommend Central Garages, the staff went above and beyond assessing and completing an unexpected job added to a full schedule. Many thank to Central Garages, Lichfield. The car failed on 2 counts and to…read moresave me having to get it home (avoiding chance of getting pulled over for no mot) to work on it myself, I asked them to complete the work. Quoted £95 for the repair to 1 item which I agreed to and told them not to fix the second as I would return with my tools to fix (was a simple case of securing an earth). Once I arrived with my tools 30 mins later, they had fixed the item I told them not too and were just about to start on the second. The work took longer than expected and then I was greeted with a bill of just over £180 for the work on both items (despite telling them not to do some of the work) I put my view across to the staff member on reception (possibly manager) who was fairly rude and aggressive in his response. The work done was to a reasonable standard but I will not be returning.
