Mindy was great, walked me through a plan and i was headed off to the races. I'm not sure I really understood it, but I rolled with it as best as I could. Fast forward a handful of years later and I wanted to revisit my plan. A lot changed from job to income and I needed something new after selling some real estate. The 2nd experience wasn't quite the same for a number of perspectives. What hit me the hardest was hearing what was said about my situation behind the scenes after my first consultation with Mindy. The planner (Sam) actally said outloud they didn't believe I could make something happen with the previous plan. Guess what, I did do something. Now I'm in need of another plan after an unexpected windfall, but don't trust the experience won't be the same. The other part I don't get is why it was suggested to open a brokerage account (which I did based on the plan) when playing the stock market is not something I do or comfortable with. Anything having to do with stocks and the market scares me and I'm very uncomfortable on any financial site outside of a bank. Nothing makes sense and vocabulary is vague. I expressed my discomfort in this area and needed a lot of hand holding to execute moving funds and opening a brokerage account. I still don't understand this one, but I did it based on a recommendation. Now I am sittiing with a brokerage account and it's doing nothing because the thought of it just paralyzes me. While the set it and forget it method is great concept in theory, it's only as good as the plan and the clients ability realistically execute. Although the 2nd plan was a great idea to retire at 62, it had zero reality of lifes unexpected changes. Good Luck!

You really don't know what you don't know. I tend to get caught up in headlines around when to buy and sell so it's nice having a professional who can manage my investments with a disciplined strategy and reliable index funds. I also was missing out on some big tax benefits that should help with saving for a home big time. Now I'm regretting waiting this long to use a CFP but better late than never. I was as skeptical as anyone but trust me, take an initial appointment, you'll only benefit!

Saving it was…read moreanother story...but I was making enough that frankly it didn't matter as long as the paychecks kept coming and the 401K savings was auto-deducted. It wasn't until I made the leap to small business owner where my deeper underlying money beliefs reared their ugly heads. Things got super real...in not a good way. My chronic tendency to depreciate the value of my heart-centered hard work meant that I was constantly underpricing and in a state of "not enough". I've been working with Heather for a few months and have been amazed at the shifts. Starting at the first meeting we were able to access and clear some of the mistaken beliefs that I have about money (tied to old but subconsciously powerful traumas). I've raised my rates and started being able to self-regulate when fear and anxiety raises it's ugly head. I've taken a number of classes on the mechanics of handling money..but working with Heather is the first time that we've gotten to the underlying reasons of why. Highly recommend!
