If you're in the market for some gardening, Culver's in Marion is probably the largest dealer of…read moreplants and garden materials in the area. There is a very large outdoor area filled with flowers, shrubs, ornamental grasses, trees, patio gear, etc. The staff is very knowledgeable, and willing to answer any question you have...except. Except when I asked for the Wi-Fi password for the guest access, they claimed that they did not know the password, or that it wasn't working. Hmmm, there was a strong signal on both the private and guest WiFi, so that answer didn't sit well with me at all. I'll deduct a star for that. Large parking area just off Highway 151, east of Highway 13.

It was not a small project, and why we went with what we thought was the best company around and paid a PREMIUM for the work. A month after we noticed water was not draining off half the yard, it just sits there going nowhere creating a huge muddy mess making the yard completely unusable. We were told it's our problem and the job is to extensive for Culver's to fix and we would have to hire someone else. This is after spending nearly 33k on our project. After several months and attempts to get the owner to come inspect their work we have yet to hear from anyone. I guess putting in drainage tile is to extensive of a job for a landscaping company. I expected better customer service after giving them our business.

If you need a 'partner' in lawn-care…read more.. Perhaps you have a new challenging role with a great company and you want to give it your all. You decided that you want to delegate your lawn-care to the pros and let them do what is best. I did that with Country Club Lawn-care and I will be paying the price to clean up the damage to my lawn for another year. I am sorry for making this choice, and so will you. My first bill was $1000 and each interaction resulted in arguments and more billing instead of collaboration and solutions. I paid the price and am still paying the price.

Country Club Lawn Care - The Customer is Never Right…read more The relationship began with a $1000 charge for spring clean up that we unchecked on the contract. The response is that they can't mow unless they have raked the yard. The spring clean up removed leaf cover in our hedges that prevented weeds so we are now overrun with weeds inextricably tangled in the hedges. They are currently mowing my brown and not growing lawn though the contract clearly states they will only mow if the yard needs it. They don't trim the edges except for the sidewalk. They SUCK!!! This is the response to my yelp review within an hour of post: "Good afternoon,Management wanted me to reach out about your Yelp review to clear some things up.  Please see the attached copy of your signed contract, which does indeed include both a Spring and Fall clean-up.  In fact, [name] came outside a few times to let our guys know how great of a job they were doing.  The address on [location] did not have a clean-up on the contract, but one was completed at the request of [name].Please also see the description of the clean-up on the contract, which reads "blow out landscape beds".  We would have been happy to skip that portion if that's how you would have liked it done, however we were not given those instructions. As far as mowing goes, we welcome our customers to skip a mowing on weeks when they don't feel they need it.  We have not received any communication about skipping, nor about areas of trimming that had been missed.  I do apologize for that, but please know we would have fixed the issue had it been brought to our attention." My response: "To be clear. The attached document is not signed and therefore not a contract.  It is a bid or a quote. What we signed was electronic and allowed us to uncheck the clean up service boxes. As such, you should have received these instructions.  $50 per hour is insanely over priced for labor of this sort. The portion you are referring to with the "blow out landscape beds" was not done.  The two guys you sent did not use a blower anywhere in the yard. A hedge is not a landscape bed. They hand raked around the hedges which is why they were here for 10 hours x 2 guys. There certainly weren't 20 hours of leaves to rake, and it isn't like they did anything in the actual landscape beds. We did request that they clean up the matted leaf pile in the corner of the parking lot at [location].  The leaf pile remained until I went over with a rake and picked it up. To my knowledge, more than once you have been directly contacted and my husband spoke with the guy on the mower about the lack of trimming, missed areas of the yard, etc.  It doesn't seem to make a difference if we say something or not.  The response is always a version of, "sorry not sorry", nothing about how you will make it right for your customer. Clearly, I gave too many stars in my Yelp review. For the record, It is too dry to mow.  Please do not mow for the month of August.  I believe that you already received your 30 days cancellation notice." Their response: "We will not be able to skip you for the whole month.  That would be bypassing the 30 day cancellation notice, which we cannot allow.  We will continue to mow per signed contract, until August 27th which was confirmed over the phone yesterday with [name].  Management asked that I pass along if you choose to not have us return to your property, we will still send a final invoice for services through the final date of August 27."

I strongly recommend that you do not contract with Gregś Lawn & Landscaping to landscape and…read morereseed a larger lawn. I contracted with Gregś Lawn & Landscaping in February of 2025 to level and reseed an approximately one acre yard. They were to: Bring in soil to fill in a low area running through the back yard. Bring in topsoil to fill in an area between the back porch and an existing shed Use a large tractor with a rotodarion soil renovator to regrade the entire yard. Make sure the yard was graded smooth eliminating any bumps and low areas. Hydro seed the entire graded areas. They did bring in soil to fill in the low area in the back yard. However, instead of regrading with a rotodarion, they used a large machine to scrape off the topsoil along with the existing grass and hauled this away. They then hydro seeded the bare ground areas using a large truck. The net result was: Over one third of the lawn ended up as mostly crab grass. The area between the back porch and the shed looked like scraped material from the rest of the yard rather than topsoil. It contained a lot of rock debris which I spent many hours picking out. Their scraping and seeding with large machinery left bumps and ruts over a large part of the yard. The ruts in the area that they filled in the back yard are so bad that I can only mow them at a crawl. All this was expressed several times to the person in charge of the landscaping, but to no avail. He said that the lawn was smoother than it was and no more work would be done to cover my concerns.
