He made it a point to note that HE would be the DJ for my wedding if we hired his company. Upon entering my song selections on the company website, I noticed there was a different DJ named that was going to be staffing our event. I immediately wrote Robb an email, to which he responded that another opportunity came up that he personally was unable to pass up, but ensured me that one of his qualified staff would be there in his place (although 4 days out he was still not able to name who it would be). I was frustrated but being 4 days before the wedding I didnt have much choice. Unfortunately the staff that he sent DID NOT deliver satisfactory service. In summary, these were my main frustrations with our experience: 1. Robb Smith (the owner) failed to communicate the staffing change, and he failed to staff someone in an appropriate amount of time to give me an opportunity to see if they would be compatible. 2. THE DJ PLAYED THE WRONG INTRO SONG FOR ME AND MY WEDDING PARTY. We only had 1 song for our wedding party & me/my husband to enter the reception to. I provided a list of all the specific songs I wanted to have played. Instead of playing my requested song "Uptown Funk" he played "Eye of the Tiger". You get one shot at the introduction to your reception... he failed miserably. 3. He played ALL 4 "line dance" (Cha cha slide, Wobble) all back to back instead of spreading them out throughout the evening. He also did this w/Polka songs, & slow dances. I think its self explanatory that the songs need to be mixed up throughout the night. 4. THEY STILL USE CD's...AND THEY KEPT SKIPPING!!! 5. I had multiple complaints that the DJ was rude to my guests when they had certain requests. After the fact, I called Robb..he was responsive & said he would address the situation.

After we were done meeting I asked him to send us over the contract to sign. A week went by and we never heard from him. After reaching out to him it took several attempts for him to finally send over a contract...which was odd but we brushed it off. Months go by and I never received any sort of a follow-up from him so I finally reached out a few weeks before the wedding and he said he would send over a questionnaire sheet for us to fill out. The week of our wedding he sends us an email saying that some guy by the name of Ricardo will be our DJ and not him. I was immediately thrown off because at no point in our meeting with him did he mention that there would be another DJ involved. I'm assuming that since we didn't book the grande package he did not reserve himself as our DJ and just paid some guy to do the gig for him. So we deal with Ricardo, who we've never met before and has a HEAVY accent. He calls me like 2 days before the wedding and asks me questions that I had already answered in the questionnaire. Fast forward to the day of the wedding. When he announced us at the reception he was practically screaming into the microphone and it was super fuzzy because he was so close to it. We asked for songs with no profanity and he did not listen to us. My husband and I were on the dance floor doing the "shoe game" and he was searching for a song to play so there was literally almost a minute of total silence and it was so awkward. We had several guests come up to us and were commenting on how they couldn't understand the DJ. I could not believe we paid to have this service because it was the biggest waste of money. We had no other issues with any other wedding vendor except this one. I called Mike a few weeks after to let him know what happened. He seemed to be shocked and apologized and said he would try to make it right and send us "something in the mail." Well that was in October and we still haven't gotten anything. I messaged him in November and he responded by saying he's busy but hasn't forgotten about us. Clearly we weren't a priority for him. I'm assuming if you spend big money with him that he will treat you better, but if you just need someone to play music for your wedding and not need all the extra lighting and add-ons then you will not be treated like a priority and he will toss you over to one of his sub-contractor DJs. I never give negative reviews but after this experience I would never recommend this company.

Much of our planning was done through emailing our preferred song list and sorting out logistics with our DJ, Mikey O'Connor. Overall, it was mostly easy to coordinate with Andreya, though she may sometimes need reminding to respond to your emails. Though DJ Mikey didn't help us plan much before the wedding, we made sure to email him a detailed script of what we wanted him to say, and he did his job well the day of. When we changed our ceremony location from outdoor to indoor 2 days before the wedding, he was also super accommodating with the last minute change. It really was such a beautiful wedding and I wouldn't do a single thing differently. The food was amazing, everybody LOVED the food, the brisket especially. Get married here. You'll be so glad you did. Any decorations I didn't bring or forgot to, Jennifer had ready and made it look beautiful. The catering failures on her wedding day were numerous and inexcusable. We had carefully selected a menu after going through TWO tastings, the first of which was so unsatisfactory that we actually asked to bring in our own caterer. We were persuaded to give them a second chance after being told a new chef had been hired. We went back, had a second tasting, and selected our menu: chicken skewers and a dip and cheese platter for appetizers, and for dinner, caesar salad, plain rice pilaf, steak bites, au gratin potatoes, and salmon. Here is what was actually served at my daughter's wedding: * Instead of salmon, they served chicken. * Instead of au gratin potatoes, they served green beans and zucchini, something no one wanted or enjoyed. * Instead of plain rice pilaf, it came out with cranberries in it. * They ran out of chicken skewers during the appetizer hour. Many of our guests did not get any. That is three wrong dinner items and a shortage on the appetizers, on my daughter's wedding day. The manager on site (Nick) acknowledged the mistakes and apologized, and told us the owner would call to make it right. When the owner called me, I was shocked by his behavior. He tried to justify serving green beans by saying they had received a large shipment and had extras lying around, as if my daughter's wedding was a place to use up surplus produce. He claimed he personally witnessed plenty of skewers and suggested our guests may have been overeating. He made an insinuation that my daughter was somehow at fault by saying "I don't want to say your daughter was at fault, but." He stopped there and gave no reason whatsoever how or why the bride would be at fault here (because there is none). When I asked him what do you mean my daughter is at fault, he changed the subject. And when I calmly said this appeared to be a breach of contract, he became loud, aggressive, and belligerent, repeatedly yelling "you played me." I was so uncomfortable with his conduct that I ended the call and told him all future communication must be in writing or with a male (attorney) family member. I then sent a detailed email to the owner and the venue documenting everything and asking for appropriate compensation. They never replied. Not once. Months went by in complete silence. It was only after my daughter filed a BBB complaint and posted a review that they acknowledged any of this, and even then, their response only mentioned one of the four problems and offered no compensation whatsoever. If you are considering Saxon Manor for your wedding or any event, please think carefully. When things go wrong, and they may, this is how they handle it.
