Everytime ive been there its been relatively empty (but then again, I went early for Brazilian standards). And the quiet environment was actually very nice. Ive had a risotto dish and also their pasta with shrimp. The pasta was delicious! Freshly made and delicate. There could have been more shrimp on the plate ;) The risotto was a daily special and wasn't bad either. Friends have had their lamb dish and also salmon. All dishes were plated well and made the meal appealing. We've also had the desserts. The chocolate soufflé takes 15 mins, but if you are a chocolate lover, it is GOOD. Hot, and a HUGE bowl (I would say you can share this) except that I personally dont think they serve enough ice cream. its a nice size soufflé, but just one tiny scoop of ice cream. And the richness of that chocolate, I needed more ice cream! The profiteroles are also good. Pastry filled with cream ice cream and a hefty drizzle of chocolate sauce. If you are interested in an italian meal, check this place out. its a hotel restaurant, but food is good, view is great and desserts amazing! :)

They have a large diveristy of types of pastas. Portion sizing is good too. I had a filet (beef) with pasta. Meat was good and pasta was al dente. Desserts were also good. I tried the Caramelo Mil Folhas and it was so light and crunchy and perfect! They are open daily for dinner, and lunch is only available on Sunday. Even though payment methods are limited, it is totally worth a try.

Felice Terrazza is a branch located under the escalators of Rio Design Leblon, a fancy shopping centre in Rio de Janeiro. Do not be fooled by the unlikely place for a fabulous restaurant. Terrazza is not at a lovely house from 1922 in Rio, as the original restaurant, but in my point of view holds the title of one of the best restaurants around the city. Surpassing the original in many ways. The Oscar goes to the spectacular prawn and cheese risotto, absolutely delicious. Fish is also delicious, same applies to their steaks. You can combine a given the protein with side orders and a sauce as well. With regards to drinks, to not miss the watermelon and raspberry lemonade. This juice is delicious and a must have. Banana split is huge and used to be a regular for me, before they have changed the menu resulting on my single criticism that follows. The criticism is related to the ice cream menu, since the options of flavours have been reduced significantly at this venue. Obviously, I high end restaurant such as this is supposed to charge accordingly, but I think it is more than far for what you get. Veridict is simple: do not miss this restaurant because of the location. Give it a go and you will definitely not be disappointed.

I recently watched Francis Ford Coppola's classic movie "The Godfather" over again. If the story…read morefrom that movie had taken place in Rio, Coppola might have chosen Cantina Donanna in Copacabana as the place to assassinate the corrupt police captain Mark McCluskey. Thoughts of The Godfather instantly came into my head when I first saw this small family run restaurant. The look of it is just right, the way you'd expect an old-time authentic Italian restaurant to look. Handmade pasta is the bottom line for this place. If you choose the proper sauce to pair with it, you will be fine. I had spaghetti with ruccola and shrimps. They cooked the salad in the shrimp sauce; I had never seen it done that way before. My friend had a sauce made from catupiri, mushrooms nuts, and shrimps. It was totally awful; there was a lake of it, and it both completely drowned and overpowered the pasta.. If you dine here, stick to the Italian-style sauces and you'll be a happy camper. The quality of the pasta was good; it was al dente and well made, however it doesn't taste or look different from industrial pasta at all. The food not withstanding, what unquestionably brought my rating of this restaurant down to three stars was the service. The waiters were negligent. When asked for fresh ground pepper they simply put the pepper mill on the table. Menus were not brought until we had been sitting for 15 minutes, and it took three requests before we could get our check at the end of the meal.

Nevertheless we tried out a few of the items on their regular menu. The brie stuffed filet was quite tasty, a little red in the middle but tender. It was smothered in a mushroom sauce and coupled with garlic noodles. The risotto was delicious, made from whole brown grain and was cheesy and flavorful. It included two stems of asparagus wrapped in pancetta which was also quite delicious and topped with a sunny-side up egg. It went well with a glass of pear champagne. This place, along with most of the restaurants in Leblon is pricy but you do get good quality food. Service was fine and on a cool night, it's nice to sit outside and dine al fresco.

On the bright side, that was pretty much the only negative part of my experience here. I opted for a glass of wine and filet stuffed with Brie cheese. Their selection of wines by the glass wasn't huge, the the red wine I selected from Spain was flavorful and a nice accompaniment for the steak. As for the meat, the dish was delicious. I've never had steak stuffed with anything really, so the idea of filling it with Brie caught my attention. It was just the right amount and gave the steak, which would have been great on its own, even more appeal. The restaurant does end up a little on the pricy side, but for this part of Leblon and marketed as a fancy Italian place, that shouldn't come as a surprise. Worth the trip, even if they don't always have everything they advertise.
